Aug 16, 2012Tried control alt delete and task manager but if flashes up then disappears Can access Boot menu via F2 but no idea what to do with that

"This Program Cannot Display The Webpage" Frozen
Aug 1, 2012I was using my PC (just using Firefox and Videopad Video Editor) and suddenly my screen turned into what looked like a 'full screen' Internet Explorer screen (i.e. what it looks like when you press F11), and I can't close it, can't Alt-Tab to any other applications, can't CTRL-F4 to close it, and when I restarted my PC, as soon as I got into Windows 7 this dratted screen appeared again, and I can't do anything with my PC at all.
Pressing CTRL-F4 seems to close it for a split second, as I briefly see the desktop (for about a tenth of a second) and then this bloody screen reappears. I can't get Task Manager to appear either, it seems as if this screen overrides everything else on my system and takes precedence.
I have Windows 7 64 bit (legal) and have been using it for about eight months, with no problems like this, up to now. Is it a virus or something? Or an overactive program, trying to 'call home' or something?

Feb 17, 2011I go to netflix on regular computer through media center and it lets me in no problem I select my movie and when I try to play the movie it goes to a screen that says "this program could not display the webpage" and it looks like an explorer window.When I try it on the second computer i log in and it lets me select the movie but when I hit play it tells me that I need to log in and I enter my user name and password then it goes all black like if its about to stream but then I get the same error message.I have included a screen shot of what it looks likeI talked to netflix customer support and they pointed the finger at microsoft

Feb 4, 2013so my just over a year old laptop fell off of my bed today. When trying to turn on the black acer screen comes up and a few seconds later it restarts. I have tried f 8, just beeps, f 12 still nothing but beeping, alt 10 same. I have tried removing the harddrive and starting it, still nothing. I then tried removing the ram one at a time, still nothing. Could the mother board off went bad?

Dec 17, 2012My computer shut down on Thursday sometime due to windows updates. When I came to work on Friday I was unable to log into one of my home based business work programs. I was told to uninstall Flash player and reinstall. It worked for a bit, but each time a script pulled up, it said "windows cannot display this webpage' and if I hit F5 I would get the script most of the time. On Sat, I was unable to get into IE at all, it would say DNS Server not responding.
I ran unplugged modem/router and reset it, rebooted pc and nothing worked. Sunday, I went online at DELL and ran a system checkup and everything passed, went to my program and it said Java was not installed on this pc. I uninstalled Java and reinstalled it and program still says the same thing. I did find a blog on google that said I needed Java 1.5 which will run along side the updated Java. Can't find 1.5 anywhere. I also did a system restore to Thursday and now my IE screen is blank, just a plain white screen. I need IE for my job, Google works fine.

Acer - Display - ACER S271HL Update On Compaq Presario CQ56 64-Bit
Dec 29, 2011I have a Compaq Presario CQ56 64-Bit (Windows 7 Home Premium) laptop that I bought before the summer, today a Windows Update has given me an Acer display update published on the 28/12/2011. I thought because I had my vga cable plugged into the TV Windows Update may have become confused but despite checking for updates again it still appears there as optional.
AMD/ATI is recognized by Windows and Windows Update and there had already been a display driver update not so long ago, so I cannnot understand why I'm receiving an update for the wrong machine?
