View 1 RepliesI installed Windows 7 last weekend on a clean HD. I then installed my MB drivers including my marvel(?) Lan drivers.
I could not connect to the internet. I kept getting a message about Windows 7 could not find the network adapter or the drivers for it. I can't remember which. But when I went to reinstall the LAN drivers I got a message about whether I wanted to repair or uninstall the drivers. So I figured they must have been installed, so clicked on repair. Still Windows 7 can't find the network adapter.
What could be wrong? I may try and play some more with Windows 7 this weekend.
I'm using a wired connection from my desktop PC to the cable modem.
Abit IP-35E mobo.
I'm having some problems with my motherboard now with Windows 7. It's an Abit motherboard and I'm getting a warning for the action center which states: "Your power management system is missing a driver" and suggest the uGuru 3.1X.
Now is where things get annoying, Abit is shut down and their driver downloads are dead. Even if they were alive, there has not been made any utility for Windows 7 as it weren't out at the time they closed.
So I have a few questions I hope some of you can answer:
- Is it at all vitial to have this driver?
- Is it anywhere I can get one which work with Windows 7?
if none of the above
- Can I somehow force the action center to ignore this "problem"? I hate having unsolved problems poping up there
A little additional question, anyone else having stability problems with the most recent windows messenger client on Windows 7 64bit?
I am coming up against the perennial 'No driver for your DVD drive' issue when trying to install Windows 7 by booting from a USB stick to install. I have Windows XP on this machine and want to do a clean install. I am aware that the SATA i/o is probably causing the problem, however I've tried almost every permutation of different drives connected to different SATA ports and different bits of the SATA i/o (the board has 2 SATA sockets on the Southbridge and 4 on the Silicon Image additional chip set).

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get windows 7 to install on my Abit I-N73HD board. The system work fine with XP & Vista. I start a clean install and could not get pass the installation process. It goes to write and save registry section (last leg on the install) and then reboot the PC. The reboot continue on until I unplug power. I am using the latest bios version 13 with 2GB of RAM and Intel DuoCore E5200.
I do not see any BSOD or anything, just constant reboot.
my laptop is hp pavilion g6 notebook pc >> my problem is with the ethernet controller driver and the network contoller driver >> after i had install a windows 64 bit i couldn't find these drivers.
View 8 Replies View RelatedA few days ago I did a clean install of Windows 7. Now I have a problem. The computer is a wireless 'client'. It has a Realtek RTL8168D/8111D PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20).
When I bring up Device Manager and expand 'Network adapters' I see "Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller".
When I expand 'Other devices' I see "! Network Controller" (Note the exclamation point.) Double click on that and I see "The driver for this device is not installed. (Code 28). When I click on Update driver I get a message Can't find a driver. I have tried many times with different source folders and files and nowhere is a driver found.
I have gone to MSIs driver web page and downloaded the Realtek PCI-E Ethernet Driver for Windows 7 32/64 bit "realtek_pcielan_7_nb.zip", extracted the files and still no joy. (M/B is MSI G41M with Intel E7400)
There is a wireless icon in the tray. I click 'Open network and sharing center". No matter what I choose Windows 7 ends up telling me to plug in an Ethernet cable. No, this is a client not the server. I have verified that the NIC can connect to the computer with the Ethernet cable by using the old XP hard disk.
Any suggestions?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a bunch of network drivers with conflicts that cant be uninstalled. I ran a chkdsk and a sfc from the cd. sfc says some files couldnt be repaired here is my cbs log CBS.zip 271.98K 1 downloads
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo i installed Windows 7 RTM 7600 x86, and when i installed Windows the network was already working without having to install any drivers.
The problem is that some websites hang and dont load, and when i switch on the computer the network icon on the taskbar says no internet access until i open internet explorer. i even tried the websites in Firefox same issue, they hang.
It doesn't happen all the time and it isn't just 3 or 4 websites, it can be many websites.
So i went to the drivers page on Dell website and download the network driver for my PC (Dell website says its Intel 825xx 10/100 Platform LAN Connect Device)
so i try to install it and it says "cannot install drivers. No Intel(R) PRO adaptors are present in this computer"
this didn't happen in Windows Vista or Windows 7, and i tried downloading the latest version from Intel site (i think) and the same error happened.
Whats wrong?
Is that that the drivers are bad or wrong, or is there another problem why the websites hang because they dont hang on my brothers XP machine and he's on a wireless connection, my connection is wired.
I'm being confused on how to deal with drivers. I will be doing a clean install of Windows 7 on my laptop (Dell D631, 4Gb RAM, 500Gb HDD, currently Win XP Pro) and want to be in good shape re drivers required. I'm confused as to where to go to have the right drivers available before I start the install... what comes with Windows 7, what do I need to go to manuf websites for, what do I go to microsoft.com for, what about the Catch-22 of... "don't have the right (eg) network driver, and can't get onto the web due to this, to GET the right network driver..." etc etc.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have installed Win 7 a while ago and today needed to print to my upstairs printer. My printer is a HP Deskjest 340 and it is connected to an iMac. I have all comps networked together so when i click add a printer my HP shows up as connected to my mac, no problem there. When i select the printer it starts to install a driver for it but a message comes up that says "No driver found" it asks me if i want to search for a driver on my comp but i don't have one to begin with. So basically I'm stuck. i have been to HPs website about there drivers and such and they don't have any drivers for Vista, they say the comp will look and find one for you while it did properly.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWell first of i start saying that i had win 7 64bit before. but formated and installed whit xp.
But i miss Windows 7 so i reinstalled it from same file as before.
Tho now i have a problem i never had before. when i start the pc like when im home from work the internett (wiered) does not work at all!
But if i go to device manager and delete the network driver and restarts the pc. Windows 7 installs it again and then it works untill i restart the pc. then its the same deal all over.
I was thinking mayby it installs an driver whitch "%&/() it up true the windows update so i have disabled the update so i manualy need to accept new updates. whitout luck.

I'm new here. I bought my eMachines ET1331 desktop with pre-installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit a year ago. However, three months ago these lag-spikes started. I've been told by many that re-installing original network drivers can fix this problem. And, it makes sense, as these lag-spikes never occurred for just shy of a year. Is there a way to re-install a pre-installed driver without the CD? If not, is there a way to identify my pre-installed driver and download off the Internet?

View 5 Replies View RelatedIve just completed a format/reinstall of Win 7. Before the wireless was working absolutely fine, afterwards I cannot even detect an available connection. I can connect to the internet on the computer via an ethernet cable though. If I go to control panel and look at the hardware, there is a 'network controller' with a yellow triangle indicting a problem. Upon searching for drivers on the internet I am informed that a driver is installing but then I get a message saying that the issue was unable to be fixed. The issue is identical to this thread Help: Network controller doesn't have a driver. except that my hardware id is different. On that thread some nice person indicted the correct driver based on the id's he posted, but I have no idea how to do this. In properties, my hardware IDs are:
