Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service Stopped Working And Was Closed

Mar 29, 2007

I also have a network sharing service problem - Vista displays, occasion (and I havent worked out WHAT occasions yet): "windows media player network sharing service stopped working and was closed" - followed by some bulls£$t about windows informing me of a solution when it becomes available. This pop up appears relentlessly - about once every 30 seconds, and i can see the system performance hitting 100% CPU for 5 seconds or so each time it does.

WMP11 Network Sharing Service Has Stopped Working

Aug 30, 2008

I can not longer share files ie video, music, pics, with any other pc in my house including my ps3. This just started 2 days ago. Everytime I started WMP11 I get the file sharing box telling me to check my sharing settings; I check them and and everything seems fine. I also have turned off both of my firewalls from Live Onecare and windows firewall. I currently am running Vista Ultimate 32bit with intel Q6600(quad core 2.40) 2gb ram, geforce 8600gts 512mb. I also recently cleaned up my desktop and don't know if I got rid of something I shouldn't have. WMP11 works fine. I also get this every 3 minutes or so popping up. Windows Media Player 11 Stopped Working

Jan 22, 2010

As near as I can tell, I have WMP version 11.0.6002.18111 installed on my Vista Home Premium system. I haven't used it in a while, so I'm not sure when the problem arose, but whenever I try to play a file or even just open the player, I'm informed it has stopped working with the following information provided:

roblem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: wmplayer.exe
Application Version: 11.0.6002.18111
Application Timestamp: 4aa91411
Fault Module Name: kernel32.dll
Fault Module Version: 6.0.6002.18005
Fault Module Timestamp: 49e037dd
Exception Code: c0000005
Exception Offset: 00049cc4
OS Version: 6.0.6002.2.2.0.768.3

I can't track down the correct files at the MS site to reinstall, and I'd rather not use System Restore since I'm not sure how far back to go or how many things would be undone.

Windows Media Player Stopped Working?

Mar 23, 2008

i open windows media player and putsomething to play, a small windows pops up and says that windows mediaplayer has stopped working and it says its looking for a solution. After a while it says " a problem caused this program to stop working correctly, Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." then it closes the program with my consent. This never happened to me on my xp pc which had WMP 11. This is happening on my new vista pc that's just a few days out of the box and i even have full norton anti-virus protection. So is there any way to fix this problem or do i have to use some other program?

Media Player Just Stopped Working

Suddenly media player just won't launch, even with run as administrator. I tried downloading media player for vista but it won't install saying there is already a Newer (?) version on the computer. So I tried uninstalling the existing version but it doesn't even show on the list of programs for uninstall. Not sure where to turn. This happened once before but a reboot fixed it.

Spooler Subsystem Application Stopped Working And Was Closed

Jul 29, 2009

This involves my HP Pavilion dv9000t notebook with Vista Ultimate OS, & HP OfficeJet H470wbt (Bluetooth) printer. I am able to install the printer successfully. However, whenever I attempt to print anything I get a window stating: "Spooler Subsystem App stopped working and was closed". This happens both in Bluetooth & USB connection.

I have wasted my time dealing w/ HP support for almost a year. HP says the problem is with my OS. Per their instructions I even performed a complete recovery on my notebook & reinstalled everything back 6 times & my LapTop has been back to HP for warranty work twice. Nothing HP did or recommended has worked. The 1st new printer was returned & I was given a new one in exchange. Still the problem persists.
"Failed Solutions": http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=2093&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3434461&lang=en

Removed drivers, re-installed drivers, verified print spooler settings & restart service, restarted the print spooler, temporary workarounds, etc. & nothing has worked.

Sound Card Not Working: ITunes/Windows Media Player

Apr 18, 2009

I recently did a system re-build, as per my specs. I've been having awful crackling and sound stutters which sometimes appear to be causing lag spikes in games too. (Having said that, I get it even when doing simple taks like listening to music or watching movies on iTunes/Windows Media Player.) I've done all the usual things like updating to the latest BIOS/drivers, but still it won't go away. I've moved the sound card to another PCI slot and checked there's no IRQ conflicts too...

Service Pack 2 Has Stopped My Games From Working

Jul 27, 2009

Last night my Vista Ultimate x64 said there was 1 available update. This update was SP2 for Vista.

So I let it install. After the PC rebooted SP2 was installed, but, none of my games worked. Call Of Duty WAW, Call Of Duty 4, Prototype, Overlord, bionic commander each one of these games started to boot and then either shows me a blank screen, or crashes to desktop.

I found that there was later versions of my graphics card and my sound card so I updated both of these. It made no difference. I then uninstalled and re-installed Bionic Commander. Again no difference this game didn't work.

Anyone have a solution? If it matters, my eventual goal is to enable file sharing so that I can begin the process of transferring my files to a mac.
