I have Vista installed which is working with my Gainward Graphic card, but with no Aero or 3D rendering. So I am looking to upgrade my card. Without breaking the bank I am open to suggestions as to what upgrade graphic card I should go for, I have an AGP board.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWould anybody know why Vista X64 SP1 does not recognize my EVGA 8800 GTX graphics card, I just got my EVGA X58 MB along with an Intel core i7 920 CPU and six gigs of corsair ddr3 dominator ram, I've installed Vista X64 SP1 and everything gets recognized except for the 8800 gtx graphics card. I've tried installing the 64 bit 182.06 nvidia drivers but without vista X64 recognizing the cards in the first place it's pointless, i just keep crashing when i reboot until I go into safe mode and remove the drivers.

When I try to install the card always get an ansewr saying that system could not find any driver for this hardware. This is what I have done:
1. clear MOS and update it
2. try almost every driver from mobo manufacturer (Biostar pm4900), form NVIDIA, from EVGA.
3. set PCI priority in Bios
4. unistall VGA drivers for the Moboard.
Does anybody here have a EVGA GTX260 core 216 SUPERCLOCKED edition with an Asus p6t deluxe mobo? If so, what BIOS are you using? And in your BIOS, did you change any settings (voltage especially) that deal with your GPU?

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I play Dundeons & Dragons Online my framerate varies between 20-60 in populated places and 100+ only if I stare at the walls. This seems too low. I was getting better framerates running XP on a AMD 3800+ x2 with a 7600GS. I've tried the nVidia 169.25 drives and the 171.20 betas from guru. Not much difference.
Is this a Vista 64 problem that will be fixed with SP!?..... or Is this an nVidia driver problem that will be fixed with later drivers.......or Is my power supply too weak?.......... or Is DDO the problem?.......... or Are my expectations too high?
Today my screen saver locked up and I had to shut down via the on/off button. On reboot the screen was covered in rows of " l "s and then a blue screen that was only on for a moment but said something about "graphics driver and timeout". I can get into Safe Mode. The drivers are up to date. Now I don't know what to do next.

For some reason I cannot get them into dual mode.
I was running a 8800GT 512mb, and I had loads of problems with it. So I got a nice new ATI 4870 1GB, wacked it in and now have driver issues up the arse. I formatted my hard drive made it nice and clean, reinstalled the driver played a game for a bit then....... the display driver stopped working! Im sure I have fitted it correctly with the right power suplier
The driver version is 8.671.0.0 [reading that from the device manager properties]
Maybe im missing some sort of driver or something. So right now and about to throw this out the ****ing window and buy a nice easy consol for 1/3 of the ****ing price and no ****ing hastle.
I am running the Hardware in my sig. the machine runs all 04 OS perfectly, 'cept Vista32Bit. I upgraded to the VX2235WM from the Benq FP72E (a 22" 16:10 and 17" 4:3 respectively) first on the 8800GTS 320MB, everything was fine, when one day, the desktop after loading Vista, just dissapeared, there was nothing, no wall paper/gadgets/taskbar/ icons...nothing, except for my mouse cursor, and by default a window "My documents" open, and showing contents. At first i was under the impression that it was my GPU/DVI cable/or the LCD, after 03 months (in pakistan there are NO consumer rights...so you fight or call in favours to RMA, and then get a new replacement piece) i got everything changed, still no dice......
i used the 163.04/09 and the latest WHQL 169.25....no display used the VX2235 drivers from MS update nad WHQL's from Viewsonic's website Changed the GPU to the 8800GT XFX, in the hope that just perhaps the
broken VC2 engine might be causing troubles, used the same..............

I have just bought a new one and used it in a camera. The camera confirms that there are saved photos on the card but when I connect it to the SD slot on the computer nothing seems to happen. I do notice a green light appears next to the slot on the computer as if it is reading something, but, having left it for 10 mins, nothing else has happened.
I use USB memory sticks for backup. I wonder if I should be using SD cards? My PC has slots for both. I have used SD cards in my camera, but never in my pc. Does anyone know how they compare in terms of speed and cost per gigabyte?

My video card was acting up so I decided to purchase a BFG GTX 275 896mb GDDR3 and picked up a 900w power supply. Then as I was installed it, I noticed that my PSU said something about being SLI ready and I looke up on to that. Can my computer dual run 2 different cards? An ASUS GTX 260 and a BFG GTX 275?

I have recently installed a ATI Radeon HD 4670 into my computer, I downloaded the latest ATI Catalyst driver from the ATI website and it installed the latest driver for both of the video cards, after it restarted I get this error message in the device manager for the ATI Radeon HD 4670:
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory. (Code 38)
I checked in the device manager and it says it has the same wddm driver version for both devices, I have tried installing many times but it continues to presist, is this a Windows Vista or ATI issue? Is there anything I can do to fix it?

I build my own PC and install 2 x 8600GTS NVidia graphic card as my motherboard(ASUS M2N-SLI DELUXE) allowed it.Unfotunatly each time I click on "SLI" (recommended) my pc freezes. I have to turn it off ,take off the SLI connector and restart it this happening for about 6 months now.Of course I join the "SLI NVidia Forums Zone" straight away and I am still waiting for an answer.

Basically it recognizes the 8800 Ultra only. I have read that to use dual cards with Vista they need to use the same drivers (169.25), which they do. Even if that wasn't the case shouldn't the graphics card show in device manager regardless?
Is there something about Vista and dual graphics that i am missing?
The 7600GT functions fine, (tested in another computer) so i am at a loss here.
I got MoBo ASUS P5N32-SLI Premium running Vista Ultimate 32bit on Core 2 Duo Processor. Recently I got another Graphic Card ATI Radeon X1900XTX 512MB PCI-e which I already have one. So, I plan to use the two X1900XTX cards on my system. I already checked the cards but found it has no connection to enable the so-called SLI bridge to connect the two cards.
