Sending Email: Some Errors Occurred While Processing The Requested Tasks
Jun 7, 2008
I have the following problem which cannot fix for a few weeks now and growing increasingly frustrated: Sending emails always generates the following message: 'some errors occurred while processing the requested tasks'. The message then stays in the outbox and the contents of message are deleted. I then need to delete the message which goes into the deleted items folder.
However, the email does actually get sent which I've verified by i) checking on send server of gmail and ii) sending/blind copying myself which comes into Windows mail inbox in the normal way. I would greatly welcome advice on how to remove the error message such that outbox messages automatically go to the sent folder rather than generating the error message and the message contents completely disappearing.
The only workaround is to bcc myself on outgoing mail so that I have a record of what I have sent from WM which then appears in the inbox with the text intact. As background, I have installed the Vista and WMutil patch and run all the checks and tabs to no avail. I have had AVG anti-virus installed for over 1 year. The problem manifests itself consistently in different countries and for both ADSL and wireless so i've discounted this as an ISP issue.

I am having a problem with my Windows Mail. I have had to do a restore using the Packard Bell restore feature on the advice of my tech guy and have encountered a problem. Prior to the restore everything worked fine.
The problem is in the send/receiving of mail. When I press the Send/Receive button the Windows Mail dialogue box (showing the error tab) comes up a tells me;
Some errors occurred while processing the requested tasks. Please review the list of errors below for more details?
No errors are showing and at the bottom of the box it shows ?0 of 3 tasks completed successfully?.
At the bottom right hand corner of my screen it shows the number of the last messages received. I can still send messages if I go to; Tools, Send and Receive and Send.
On starting up my PC and Windows Mail, mail is received and sent in the normal way but when I try Send/Receive any time after that the problem occurs.
I have checked my ISP mailbox and there are no outstanding messages.
I have checked all my setting against my laptop and they match, I have three e-mail addresses and am operating Windows Vista Premium, all updates are downloaded automatically.

from the first day I have seen plenty of errors in Event Viewer Acer Support even sent me System and Recovery Disc,s. I did a Recovery to Factory Default and there are 24 errors Errors in Event Viewer right after the Recovery was done, BEFORE I connect to the Internet for Updates. The only options this disc,s give me is Recovery to Factory default or recovery from back up, I don't have besides what good is it to make a backup when the first install is full of errors and I don't get to chose which applications or program s to install. In my older Computer, Vista home basic I get to Install Windows with no errors and get to chose which application to Install.

Since yesterday a.m., I can't send emails using Windows Mail. I can receive, just can't send. Getting "The connection to the server has failed. Protocol: SMTP, Port: 587, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E" error message. I can send using the webmail application, but not Windows Mail. I am using AVG and have tried uninstalling. No luck. Tried reinstalling without email scanning. No luck. I've changed my outgoing port to 587. No luck. I've checked "outgoing server requires authentication". No luck. Called ISP and they say it is a Windows Mail issue.

I can receive email on my Comcast connection but I cannot send emails. Trouble shooting with Comcast indicate that the problem is not with Comcast. What can I do to fix the problem? Error number is 0x800CCC79. My email address is jpribesh@comcast.net. incoming POP3 server is mail.comcast.net. outgoing SMTP is SMTP.comcast.net. My operating system is Vista.

When I repled to an email it was not received by the original sender. I didn't receive a message telling me that the email had not been received. I then sent a test email and copied myself. I received the copy but again the recipient didn't. My pal then sent an email to a number of his friends requesting a reply and he received replies from all of them. So it seems that he is receiving emails from everyone except me and I'm sending emails to everyone except him. I should state that this has only happened within the last week, up until then I had been sending emails to this address without any problems.

I have looked through half of the 1,0000's of posts and cannot find help. We have windows vista home premium. We have Norton ntivirus 2009 and all patches and downloads for Windows have been completed. I have Verizon Broadband as my connection and my ISP is another company. I have contacted both of these companies and have reset my incoming and outgoing servers several times, before and after all of the updates for Windows and Norton. I have also shut off the email scanning on Norton. The only thing I have not done is somthing called "Turning off Background Compaction" What in the world is this and how would any regular Joe KNOW to do this?
I am at my wits end, because NOTHING has worked. We do not have the startup disks for Windows Vista operating system because it was loaded when we purchased the computer. Therefore we cannot reload Vista Listed below is the error message I received when trying to send emails. I can receive emails. This should not be as technical as it is becoming. ::The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'mail.iglide.net', Server: 'pop.iglide.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E::

I have been trying to set up window mail so I can send emails straight from word. I am having the error message: "The host 'POP3' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Subject 'Resume may 2010', Account: 'POP3', Server: 'POP3', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D" come up. I do not know how to set this up. What information do I put in the box where it ask what type of server my email address uses (ie. POP3,) and how do I find this information, and when I do how do I go back and put the correct information in.

I am still trying to find out how to send a link in an email without having to list the entire URL. Such as we can do on forums, etc. I am using Windows Mail with Windows Vista Home Premium 64, soon to upgrade to Windows 7. Example—if I wanted to send a link to aol ionstead of having to list it this way, I should be able to list it as just aol and clicking on the link will go right there. I get emails like that all the time but can't figure out how to send one.....

I manually configured the email provided by my web host using Windows Mail. It was working properly until recently this week, it cannot send any emails anymore. I DID NOT CHANGE anything in the configuration. Everytime I send emails, it keeps on prompting me Windows Security asking for the Username & Password. I typed my username & password correctly BUT it keeps on prompting me the same pop up. The username & password I entered are all correct. Sometimes it gives me this error message:.......

There is no error message but I looked into it a little closer after not getting replies from several email I had sent out. The email go into my out box and appear to leave as normal when sent. I have tried emptying my out box, checked all settings with my ISP, and read a lot of post with out seeing anything else to try.
