I bought a new laptop with Windows Home Pre. When I try to rip my music from the cd's that I made with my old pc (running xp home) it will not let me. It will play the music, but will not let me rip it to my new pc.
View 4 RepliesI want is a good free ripping program that will rip CDs (and DVD if there is such an app.) and automatically place music in folders I set up on my external hard drive. These files are for my own listening/viewing pleasure. If there is a good ripper that costs, I'd consider that as well.

View 9 Replies View Relatedjust a few days ago I tried to burn a CD. when I try it tells me to connect aburning device and restart the program, however my burner is internal and there is no connecting it. I later discovered that it wont recognize that I even put a CD in. I've burned and ripped cd's in the past with no problems. I have Vista home premium with a 64X2 processor if that helps. Also about 2 years ago I got a insignia mp3 player. for a good 6 months it worked fine with my computer. then it started telling me that my computer didn't recognize the device and it wont sync up. I thaught it may be the mp3 player itself but it synced up with my friends computer just fine. I've since learned to live without syncing but no burning or ripping come on!
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have recently bought a MP3 player & have set about filling it with music using Windows Media Player, I have noticed that some albums seem to get unstable & skip a bit like a needle going across a record. The CD's are well looked after & not scratched. The problem seems to be somewhere in the ripping process as the tracks skip when played back on the PC, I have tried ripping the same albums on another PC with similar results so it's not anything to do with my CD Drive, I tend to think the CD's are read too fast but that's just my opinion. I'm not 100% sure but I think it may be long compilation albums IE. Greatest Hits that seem to be the main culprits,

When I open a song file, the music id fine but the vocals sound distant, inaudible and a large amount of echo. I did download an mp3 player called morpher or something very similar but deleted after playing two songs, has this damaged my music files or my computer? I am unsure if the mp3 player is the culprit but all was fine beforehand.
I have updated the realtek driver but has made no difference to the vocal reproduction. I have also tried a system restore to a date well before the mp3 player was put onto the computer, it still made no difference.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am running Vista on a Dell XPS 420. I came home to find both drives failed in a RAID 1 mirror. Dell gave me no help recovering data, but did send two new drives. I have installed Vista on one of the new drives without RAID. I wanted to see if I could recover any files from the failed drives, but I can't seem to get Vista to recognize either of the old drives that were in the failed RAID array. The failed drive does appear during boot up and still shows as part of a failed array. How can I get Vista to recognize the failed drive so that I can then attempt to run file recovery software on it?

My music player (WinAMP, iTunes) always stutter when I load a page off any browser (IE7,FireFox,GoogleChrome) after I left my computer on for a long time(4+ hours). I first thought it was ram that was affecting it but I'm not so sure. The longer I left my computer on the more likely it'll stutter, but I can fix about 98% of the stutter by rebooting my computer.
The stuttering only occurs when I load the page, but stops when the page finishes loading. Sites with more pictures will cause more stuttering, and this doesn't happen when I play any games.
I'm looking for a music player that works with x64. I prefer musicplayer that i can brows all my music files with.

This is what I did : Create Mail > Format > Background > Sound > browse to locate my choice of music, Click Open > OK ( I chose MP3 instead of .wav or midi, because they take too long to upload and send ). This is my problem : I sent that to myself for testing. Music came on as soon as I opened the e-mail. But, when I sent it to someone else, the recipient was unable to hear anything. The answer I received before was about recipient having have to change a setting, but I don't remember what.

The CD has 27 songs, I was able to get the 1st 11, but on each of the rest it says ripping for about 10 - 15 minutes, then it says error and moves on to the next song. There is no explanation as to what the error is. I have tried rebooting and starting over with the unripped songs but they still will not rip. Would this work better with media center?

I know how to insert background music on an e-mail, but ........I can not figure out how to make it as a background music when and ONLY when the attachment is opened. NOTE : I do not want to convert the music to .wav format. It takes too long and it does not work if the music is too long. What I have be doing is this : Open compose window > Format > Background > Sound > browse to music folder, pick my choice > Open, choose of times or continuously > OK My problem is : as soon as the e-mail is opened by the recipient, music starts. It does not wait for attachment to be opened. What steps have I missed ?

However, after dragging the member to the burn list & starting the burn process, the system prompt me to insert a blank disk, after doing that, the list appears & immediately I see pending for each song followed by complete which indicates the burn is complete, it also states that it is finalizing the disk. All this happens too fast & the end result is a non-playable or wasted cd.

The shortcut to the music folder is available but it does not access the Music folder. If I right click on Music from Start my options are copy, rename, properties. Selecting properties brings up a general tab that is completely blank. I created a folder called Music but when I install iTunes it says it cannot find the Music folder to add an i Tunes folder. Which is how I discovered the Music folder was missing. Even with the i Tunes folder in Music that I created the Music General tab is still completely blank. How do I fix this? I'd like to continue to use iTunes.

I have 1.44 gb on hard drive and wanting to back up on a 700mg CDR..Wizard is useless here without really any options except to finish with files that will fit..Am told word of mouth there is software so I can use multiple disks to do the task but I do want want to invest as this will happen rarely to me..Problem is its the music folder in my document and I don't want to confuse things by splitting the music folder into its two folders and not know where my music will wind up.
