I have a logitech mx610 laser mouse that I have used with my vaio laptop with windows XP and never had any problems. This summer I bought a HP 4830f desktop computer that has Intel quad core 2.4Ghz, 4Gb of ram, nvidia geforce 8500 GT video card with vista x64, and I usually always have some type of mouse lag, it is especially really bad when anything is downloading.
View 9 RepliesWhen I have my display adapter (nvidia 7300 gs) enabled as normal, Vitsa freezes at a random time. It occurs more frequently when running video files, but can happen with no applications open. When I disable this display adapter and run on the on-board one, the problem does not occur, but then I cannot run anything that needs direct x. I think the issue is due to the driver for the nvidia 7300 gs. I have rolled back the driver, but this has not helped. And I downlaoded the latest driver from nvidia's website, but this has not helped. Through device manager, I have unistalled and re-installed the nvidia 7300 gs.

I clicked it and now it tells me that my product key is already active on another machine! It is isn't - it's the same machine. All I did was replace my video card.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI did a clean install of Windows Vista Home Premium and the system operates faster than with my previous set-up with XP. After updating some of my drivers from Windows update, I am satified with VISTA so far except that I noticed that Windows identifies my video card as a standard VGA. When I down loaded the Nvidia driver from Toshiba (QG20disp-7882), it seemed to install and operate correctly however Internet Explorer would not start after the installation. I tried several times with the same results. To get the internet working again I had to Restore the sytem to the previous standard VGA set up. This standard VGA set-up limits the ability to see videos with Media Center. Has anyone run into this problem and how can I solve it. Incidentaly the
NVIDIA card has 128 MB dedicated memory so it should be able to run AERO but it is not available.
I bought a Diamond Radeon HD 3650 (1Gig) video card and on the box it says it supports Vista but it won't work. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I know, though, about the 3GB limit of a 32bit system(I hear people say that Vista 32 utilizes (NOT recognize, but UTILIZE) 4GB of RAM, but I have yet to see any evidence that supports that, so I will stick to the idea that 3GB is the limit) I know that the 3GB=System RAM+Video RAM. View 4 Replies View RelatedI am running Vista Home Premium (64bit version) with Service Pack 1 & have admin rights. I have all the latest drivers (especially for my video card) installed.... I don't want ANY Vista effects AT ALL and have tried for the last couple of days to disable them... all efforts have failed.
A) System Properties --> Advanced (Tab) --> Settings.. (under Performance): I have deselected ALL the checkboxes in BOTH my admin account and also in my non-admin account (using elevated status)... the effects still come back!
B) Personalize appearance and sounds --> Window Color and Appearance : I have purposely NOT chosen any Aero scheme.. I've even tried the bare bones Windows Classic scheme.. still the effects come back... I've even tried changing EVERY single user on the system to a real basic scheme... the effects still come back! In the color scheme selection, under the "effects" button, I have deselected ALL effects!.. but still the effects come back!
C) I have tried "adjust for best appearance" & then "adjust for best performance" (with the intention of resetting the settings!).. the effects still come back! (initially at least they disappear, but as soon as I log out & log back in, or reboot, etc. they come back!) What is interesting is that in my admin account, I don't get any effects (yay!), so the settings DO stick in that account... but I don't want to run my day to day affairs using my admin account and my non-admin account (as well as every single other user on the system) has the bloody effects enabled!!
What Card does Nvidia make(or do they)that will play crysis at all max settings and Max Res at close to 60-100FPS? I have seen a system with an 8800 Ultra SLI and out past the 2000 range res it dropped to around 25fps. What about the new GTX280?

I'm concerned that I'll run into a whole host of problems and will end up just reformatting my C drive and starting with a fresh install of V64 with the new card already installed. View 9 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to "upgrade" my graphics card... It is technically a "new" install because I have tried everything including a "factory reinstall" of my POS hp OEM bloatware-loaded pc. When factory came it had a 9500GS, but the fan failed and HP hates me! :-) ......I uninstall anything with the name ATI or NVIDIA - Turned off my computer, restarted disabled intergrated in Bios then let the computer boot up, then turned off computer again.. Installed the card, then booted up.. Vista 64bit, installed the generic VGA driver and all was fine other then it was running with a generic adapter.. So I went and installed the most recent forceware/drivers I could find.. I tried this many times with different drivers .. *Rinse & repeat* I even used driver sweeper in safe mode to remove drivers & such...
When I reboot after the install of the recent drivers, I get the black screen (no video) but windows does boot just fine?!?!? I do not understand what is the problem? my biggest issue is how come the card would work until I updated the graphics driver fromt he generic VGA adapter to the 9400gt driver? When the drivers were installed the device manager even stated the correct 94oo gt nvidia name..? So why would it not work after the reboot? Should I go with an older driver? Should I go with the one WIndows is suggesting/ from windows updatE? I think I tried that also but perhaps I will try to monkey around with this until I get it or until someone that is amazing can give me an answer!?!? This is rediculous... I also could not install a ATI 4350 on here either I returned that for the 9400gt.. Thinking that because my computer came with an NVIDIA that it would work.....Should I disable the intel in the device manager before disabling it in bios, or after? or not at all? (The rep from PNY said I did not have to)? Should I try to update my bios ? I am really upset as we can see above my comp is capable running with intel on-board graphics fine but,, I just bought the sims 3 and want to use the "nicer" graphics that I can get with this card.. Having installed the board drivers and latest NVidia graphics drivers my performance index is 1 - based on the graphics card (everything else is 5.9 except the boot drive which is 5.5). I have re-calculated it about 6 times because I couldn't believe it. Does the performance index not work in Vista 64, this card (with the same version drivers) scores 5.9 in Vista 32. I don't particularly care about the performance index, unless it is indicating a problem.

It starts of 1-2 second then stops, while you can hear the sound, then plays the video for another 1-2 second and stops again, while you can hear the sound.When attempts to play the video, it jumps to where video should be together with the soudn you can see pixels and very slow movements and it stops again. Almost it seems that it is buffering the video while attempting to play it in the same time. I know that max resolution is 2560x1600 which is more then enough to 1080p HD videos. I just took my computer for repair to get a new GFX card and in there shop with my comp running through an old school CRT 15inch monitor i can get a resolution of 1600x1200. As soon as i plug it back into my Samsung at home it can only reach 1280x960 againb. I have contacted Samsung and they are useless as usual. I have the latest Samsung and Nvidia drivers installed.

I keep getting a problem with the screen when I play "trackmania" it's like some of the text and texture is blurry. Weird thing is I don't have any problems with other games like Fallout 3 or Call of duty 4-5 and so on. Those games I play with highest settings and no fuzz with the texture there. I am running version 7.14.10.1329. I read that SP1 will not update if the driver version is between 7.14.10.1322 and 7.14.10.1403. Tried to download the drivers from Intels webside they were not compatable. I called Toshiba support, they told me the driver I have is the moste recent driver and that I would not be able to upgrade to SP1.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have just brought a Media PC with a en9800GTX video card which has 2 DVI ports, I was told by the supplier that it is meant to be really good and do everything, I was also told when i got the machine that I really needed a HD TV with an HDMI port on the back so I had to go and get a panasonic TH-42PZ80B again being assured that this was what I needed. further to that I had to get a HDMI cable that would connect to the ports of the video card (via a hdmi to DVI converter) again being assured that this was everything I needed. Picture quality is great but there is no sound!
I can plug speakers into the back of the pc (green port with a standard cable) but there is nothing coming out of the TV, I have been told to right click on the sound icon in vista a change the audio to the TV but it is not listed! the media PC was brought on the basis of being speced to the hilt but there seems to be so much conflicting information and nothing works! 4k down and seems that I have brought a donkey!
