my internet explorer is not working right, when i press start it says internet explorer (no add ons) and i cant get my add ons back on, im new to this i know very little about my computer
After fighting to get rid of a Trojan horse virus, I am missing the internet browser. E-mail works OK. Clicking 'Internet' icon gets me the message 'Internet Explorer has stopped working:". I tried 'restore' but it is not working either. I get the message 'an unspecified error occurred during system restore'. I scanned with AVG and the files it scanned are clean. I have a 'restore' DVD made by the computer vendor but when I stick it in the CD drive nothing happens. The computer is a 1 year old ACER with VISTA home premium preinstalled. How do I proceed from here? I have no idea what to do.
Lately when I've tried looking at different folders and files on my hard drives I keep getting "Windows Explorer has stopped working and will restart." It's driving me nuts, I can barely do anything. Also, same thing with Internet Explorer...I'm getting real sick of Vista's shoddiness..
By now it should be obvious that, under the Vista operating system, I have Home Premium, there is a severe overall, general "has stopped working" problem.
Thus far I've experienced: "Internet Explorer has stopped working" "Windows Explorer has stopped working" "Word has stopped working" "Sherlock Holmes Nemesis (Adventure Company) has stopped working" "Outlook has stopped working" "Acid 4.0 (Sony) has stopped working" "Acid 6.0 (Sony) has stopped working" "Sound Forge (Sony) has stopped working"
Is it not obvious by now that Vista has a problem, maybe a compatability problem, with everything from Internet Explorer and Microsoft Word to third party programs which cause programs, as I mentioned, even programs made by Microsoft, to "stop working"? Is there no an overall "stopped working" patch or something that Microsoft has released by now?...............
I've described my problem in the attachment. I rarely use Internet Explorer so can't be sure that it died with the installation of the new motherboard drivers but it seems likely. Odd, though, that I can still use IE on Win7 (I'm 'dual boot' at the moment).
I've done a Vista System Restore but to no avail. how to revive IE to Vista and cure that strange bug on the Context Menu (when right clicking on Start Menu and Desktop icons)?

I've upgraded my Windows Vista system to SP2. And now I find that Interent Explorer won't work. In fact anything I run that has a link to the interent isn't working. My network connection is fine.
i keep getting a pop-up box saying that internet explorer has stopped working windows is searching for a solution, the problem is internet explorer is working fine. So i have been just canceling the box out,is there any suggestions to correct the box from popping up.
I have vista home premium and internet explorer 7 and a Nvidia 8800 graphics card. On certain web sites The pictures appear distorted and fuzzy. But if I right click on the picture and click on "Show original image" the picture becomes clear. How can I set my computer so that the pictures will always be clear/
I would like to know how to add a line of code to this batch file so when I click, it will open all the websites in IE with NO add-ons. (I already have the shortcut on desktop, but it only opens one page) Also, when I do click this batch file it opens 11 pages. I want to open one page and 11 tabs.

Every time I shut down the internet I get a message stating internet has stopped working this is very annoying. Does anyone have any idea how to correct this?
My computer must be infected. New Internet pages starts up continuously with advertizing and in particular urging me to download and install ???AntiSpywareSuite???. Warning windows with the text ???Windows Internet Explorer??? at the top of frame, also pop ups asking me: Do you want to install AntiSpywareSuite to scan your PC for malware now? (Recommended) I already have Microsoft malware and spyware protection running along with the latest Symantec antivirus suite. I have also run Lavasoft???s Ad Aware and removed all cookies and removed the latest programs that I have installed, but nothing has helped. I am running Vista Business.
My computer automatically downloaded Internet Explorer 8 last week. So far I am not impressed! I have found that it does not load some sites (eg. Facebook and sometimes Google), or takes an age for it to load them up. Sometimes when IE8 is loading up iteslf, it goes to a page saying 'Internet Connection Problem" or something in the top left corner. I wonder if there is a new download patch (is that what it is called?!) or something that can resolve this problem, or some way that I can revert to Internet Explorer 7?
Cannot run Internet explorer, win vista ultimate sp1, live messenger, and other programs. Most time I got windows pop up message, "windows stop working""
I've been reading the Threads here and on other Forums with regards to the IE issue of it stopping working on Vista. I've tried all the suggestions I have found to date (including uninstalling OneNote, repairing registry issues etc etc) and I still can't get the damn thing to work. Every time it loads I get the message saying Internet Explorer has stopped working. I normally use Firefox, but have to be able to test websites in IE so must get it working.
I recently bought a new laptop with Windows Vista in it and I am a user of Myspace. I am having issues when I go to certain pages on myspace the pages are not fully loading or I can not see all of the content on the page. I have been thru this entire computer and settings and such and still can not figure out why I can not see all the content on the pages.

My internet explorer will randomly stop working sometimes. I'm able to use it for an hour or so and then it stops working. I still remain connected to the internet because AIM still works. I have to restart my computer for the browser to start working again.
When I click a link on an incoming e mail, I get a window come up 'Internet Explorer not working'. In order to access the link I have to 'right click and copy' then paste into IE. how I can get direct access?
I try to enter into this chatroom on a discussion forum I frequent I get that stupid message box that says "Internet Explorer has stopped working" it shows a litle progress bar under it and says "Windows is checking for a solution" but all it ever comes up with is another box that says "A propgram has caused this program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
I had no problem entering the chat room on my other computer a Dell Inspiron E1705 but that one is now dead and I am currently using a Dell XPSm1730 running Vista Home Premium. I tried deleting my browsing history and re-downloading/installing Java but it doesn't seem to do any good.
I've been getting this error message whenever I try to delete a website or folder from my Favorites. I can click close program and my homepage comes back up. Check online for a solution does nothing. I looked at the details and realized I was running IE 7.0.6001.1800 so I downloaded IE 8, but the problem persists. Right now the only way I can make it happen is by trying to delete something in my Favorites folder, but it has just come up randomly a few times. I googled "Internet Explorer has stopped working" and got lots of pages where other users are having the same problem, suggesting various fixes, but none has worked for me so far. Hope I didn't make a mistake by downloading IE8!
When I shut down internet explorer it goes through a nonresponsive phase, shuts down and reboots. In vista problem reports just itemizes the times this happens, don't know what to look for.
and I don't get it. 'windows internet explorer has stopped working.' and then sometimes when I start it---the links are all missing. All I have is the basic IE7 with the Yahoo toolbar, latest version. The next time it happens, I will take a SS. I may have to go to FF which is not my preference. How do you get FF be the default browser for yahoo mail, for example?
I installed IE8, but when I started it a window would come up and say "Internet explorer has stopped working". I searched for a problem and all I could find was that I needed a DEP compatible version of IE8.
I wasn't quite sure if IE8 was the culprit, but it became apparent once I removed it. Internet Explorer 8 interferes with the functionality in Windows Explorer for Vista. Say for example: With IE8 installed, open up "Computer". Close it, then open it again. It should be instantaneous. But its not. A window will take over to 10 seconds to show its initial contents. Once its open though, its very fast because the instance is already running. But once it closes it will take another 10 seconds to open again. Internet Explorer 8 itself opens up very slowly even after the first opening. Can any Vista users verify this?
1. Install IE8
2. Go: Start > click Computer
3. Close that Window.
4. Repeat step 2.
Is it an instantaneous opening or does the window take more than 5 seconds to populate? Repeat those steps with opening Internet Explorer. Is it the same? If so, welcome to the club. Does Microsoft have any way to report this bug to developers?
A freind of mine is having a few problems with her laptop..
She has a link in the start menu that says (internet explorer 64 bit)
This is what she clicks to go on the internet, Now when she visits or clicks on links, she will sometimes get a message that she needs to install flash player.
She already has the latest flash player installed, but apparently this does not work on this "internet explorer 64 bit"
I diden't even know there was a 64 bit internet explorer.
And it goes on to say something like flash player is for 32 bit browsers, for flash player to work on 64 bit browsers search online for help, or it directs you to microsoft help and support.
I don't really like to go messing around on someone elses laptop
so i thought i would just ask to see if there is one thing i could follow to fix this problem..
Internet explorer (7) won't run. I found that the IEXPLORER.exe is not in the directory. I have tried to install IE8 but it fails on configuring every time. Same happens when I try to install the cummulative IE7 updates (she's not good at installing updates). Everytime I try any kind of install or update concerned with IE it fails at the configuration phase. Other problems are that she can no longer use windows messenger. This connects but terminates in failure almost instantly.
I've ran a Norton Security scan which has found 144 tracking cookies but nothing more. The fix now button produces fail to lauch link which may well have something to do with the IE problem. Google Chrome is installed and works OK. I don't know what the last good restart point is. I've tried going into the repair feature on windows live essentials through the programs and features in the control panel but I just get a fatal error 0x8007007. Can't even look at internet options in control panel. That won't open either.
Interested to know how many people use IE7? Looks like readability is very good in IE7 and my favorite font arial appears crisp and clear? Just curious to hear a feedback on this?
I am runnng Vista and IE is misbehaving itself, going down faster than the stocks in my portfolio. I regret that that is about all I know as nothing specific seems to cause it other than giving it a task to do. Where do I start on this. It has been doing it now for weeks.
