How Can Gateway Gt 5676 Open The Sticker Void Warrenty
Sep 25, 2008i have this sticker over the case on my gateway gt5676 and if i open the case i have to tear the sticker? will this void my warrenty?

Cannot Change PSU With Out Voiding Warrenty
Aug 20, 2009If any of you have heard me whining on this before you will no my stupid dell PSU has zero molex connections and i cannot change the PSU with out voiding the warrenty. So i have been looking into other ways around it. And it came to me 'i have a spare 6pin pci power cable, can i convert it to molex?' There seems to be a **** load of cables/adaptors doing it the other way around but i have only been able to find one cable that does it the way i want, but its a random website in the US, and it would cost me nearly £15 to get it over here... too much for one cable. So my question is, does anyone know where i can buy one of these:

May 5, 2009I've seen this problem posted a number of times, and either there's no fix for it or it was attributed to something that doesn't apply to my situation. Here's the description:
- With Firefox and Google Talk, any downloaded file cannot be opened by the program.
- IE8 and Chrome both work, and since I use Chrome for everything, I never noticed the issue in Firefox. File transfer in Google Talk has been screwed since I installed Vista.
- It happens when they're run in Administrator Mode as well
- The files do not appear in the specified Download directory (my UserDownload folder)
- A search shows that the files do not exist -anywhere- on any of my HDs
- The files aren't in AppDataTemp either
- I do NOT have AVG, nor have I ever had it installed on any of my HDs, ever
- The account I use is the original account I created on install, and has Administrator privileges
- I have already granted special permissions for all Users to Create/Modify files within the folder
- The User folders are not in their original location. They've been moved to a separate HD specifically for Docs/Downloads.
The most common answer I see is "Turn off UAC," but I see that as a last resort and would prefer a different solution. I'm tempted to just switch to 7 today and deal with the RC but I'm wary of the problem not being fixed there either.
Removed The Windows Sticker
Nov 4, 2009I've been using Linux for a while exclusively lately due to some heavy issues I had with Vista a few months ago. While I was running Linux I decided to make my laptop OS Neutral. I Removed the Windows sticker, sanded down the windows key, and removed the OEM Windows Sticker on the bottom. My questions are:
1. Is it legal to remove this sticker?
2. Without the code that is on the sticker, will I still be able to use the Upgrade Disc to Windows 7 since my Vista will still pass WGA or do I need the codes that were on the sticker? If it was illegal then this whole situation is hypothetical)
Missing 2 Digits On Product Key Sticker
Mar 26, 2008I bought a retail of Windows Vista Ultimate from Newegg. Part of the product key sticker is ripped off and I'm missing the last 2 digits. I don't even know how to contact MS support because they ask for a PID and I can't find that on the box or anything. All I have is the disks, Certificate of Authenticity, and the product key with 2 missing digits.

Apr 4, 2009my Gateway M-6318 is not connecting to the internet. It was working fine when connected to an ethernet cable at the apartment, but wireless didn't work, but now at the house neither work! Cox has came down two times to fix this, but nothing. I have been playing around with it since the move, but no luck at all. It does not work wirelessly or wired. We have two laptops. One works and one doesn't. The restore discs that Gateway sent me no longer work (I've had to factory reset previously) and the OS disc that Gateway sent me isn't reading in my T-6835 laptop. Mar 26, 2008I just upgraded my system's motherboard, chip, and ram and ran into a big problem. When I booted up for the first time, Vista started to boot up then reset. When I ran recovery, it told me some drivers were corrupted (probably the old hardware). I ran the motherboard disk and installed the new drivers and to make a long story short, it didn't work. Add that to the fact that I can't find my serial number sticker and I'm screwed. Is there a way to find my serial using the Dos prompt or can windows pull my serial off my hard drive if I reinstall?

She is in another state so it's very difficult to do over the phone since basically it's like being blindfolded. my dad bought a Gateway (model:GT5428) desktop about two years ago. well not long after that it started to shutdown unexpectedly. ofcoarse my dad thinking that it would cost a butt load of money to get it fixed. so he tried to fix it himself and asking my step-grandfather to help him, but the problem still continues.
Here I'll give detailed discription of what usually happens: when logging in, the unit's fan gets really noisy as if its handling alot at once. if we open a program like internet explorer to soon it will shutdown; so we usually wait a while until we think it's ok to open the program. but after shutting down a blue screen appears and then it reboots. now in safe mode it works fine so I'm pretty sure it's not a Ram problem but I believe it maybe a driver issue concerning some hardware( a linksys wi-fi adapter) that was installed by someone at circuit city when he bought the computer. so I need help finding the problem. Problem reports and solutions has logged in 366 unexpected shutdowns since 2007.

Nov 30, 2009Outlook 2007 installed,and working fine. I needed to open winmail and found that it did not open. Found it running in taskman, but there is no winmail program window available.
I have tried:
1)delete winmail reg entries
2)delete winmail storage folders
3)rename winmail.exe file....
None of the above worked. Specifically, the results of points above:
1)started winmail after deleting reg entries,just remade them,is all.
2)ditto for point 2
3)nothing happens when double click renamed winmail.exe...
I dont want to use another program. I needed to visually advise someone about adding signatures,but winmail did not start. Yes I could do an internet search, but that is not the point-winmail is broken somehow and I wish to fix it.
, Outlook 07 And Exchange 03: Open Outlook It Says, Cannot Open The Default E-mail Folders
Mar 23, 2008When I boot up in the morning, I have to wait 20 to 30 mins before Outlook 07 will connect to my Exchange 2003 server. Until then, when I try to open Outlook it says, cannot open the default e-mail folders. And it suggests there is a network issue or that the Exchange server is down. These are not the case. The Exchange server is up and there are no network issues. I have many other computers attached to the network and none of them have this issue. Some our XP Pro/Office 07, some are XP Pro/Office 2003. The big difference with my machine is that it is Vista.
After about 20 to 30 minutes, wow! it connects! And then it's good for the rest of the day. I usually only minimize Outlook after I actually get it open so the connection is maintained throughout the day. I'm not sure what would happen if I closed it completely. But one thing is for sure, every morning, it takes 20 to 30 minutes before it will connect. Eventually, it always connects.

Could Not Open WMP
Dec 25, 2007Have an e-machine Vista Home Basic. About a week ago, I could not open WMP any more by just clicking the icon. I found that I could right click it and open with 'run as administrator'. At the same time I could no longer open Napster. It told me I didn't have a recent version of WMP, which I do. I have McAfee installed and I can no longer see the menu when I click that icon. Also had issues with internet explorer. Problems that I don't have with Moxilla.
I found that if I turn off User Account Control that all works fine. Of course I get a warning for not having that on. The real kicker is that none of these problems occur on my guest account even with UAC on. I've been searching Google and came upon this forum. Do I need to change a setting somewhere?
Cannot Open A PDF, DOC, PPT, DWG, Etc
May 6, 2009I could not open the attached files(PDF, DOC, PPT, DWG, etc...) in Window Mail directly from the paper clip icon drop down menu. However it can be opened after saving the attachement to other folders like desktop. The error message like this : The path or file name of "C:windowssystem32oooo.doc(or pdf, ppt, etc..) " is incorrect. please check the path of file name Sometime the path is "c:program filesahnlabooo.doc" Because I'm using the MS Office(Korean version), the error message is translated in english. (My poor english...^^)
I tried to search the solution. but I can't it anywhere. (Many people suggest a docfix or to reassociate the application program.)In my opinion, it is not concern with an application program(like word, powerpoint, acrobat...). It's just the problem of windows mail. Maybe the registry about windows mail seems to be changed.
