I click the button and nothing. So, before I just put a question in, I went through the Windows Mail Help and Support via Help tab at the top of the Windows Mail tool bar.
Here is what it said:
Follow these steps to sign in to Communities from Windows Mail:.........

I'm trying to do the in-place upgrade - Vista Home Premium to W7 Home Premium. It says: "The following issues are preventing Windows from upgrading. Cancel the upgrade, complete each task, and then restart the upgrade to continue. There is not enough free space to store temporary Windows installation files. Try using Disk Cleanup, uninstall old programs, or move files to an external location such as a CD, DVD, or external hard drive." I just installed a new 320 gb hard drive and restored Vista on it. It works perfectly. 220 drive C: and about 80 gb D: so there should be no problem I checked each drive's properties to make sure each had much unused space - I came from an 80 gb disk.

I am trying to disable Windows Mail and have done everything from going to the control panel and setting the default programs to making sure the email program I use is the default. I use Incredimail and it says it is the default mail client. When I got to Windows Mail - it says it's the default mail client! When I try to forward an attachment, Windows Mail comes up to send it through. How can I make sure Windows Mail is NOT my default mail client?

I'll cut to the chase. I have Yahoo Mail. I found windows mail on my system (vista). While trying to find out information about windows mail .... somehow I instituted Windows Mail to snag "ALL" my Yahoo Inbox. Additionally, all my new Yahoo inbox goes directly to windows mail now. How can I stop this? I prefer Yahoo mail. My thinking was Windows Mail was like the old Outlook, and I might be able to archive/save a chunk of my important Yahoo mail there. This Windows Mail is definetely not working for me.

Does anyone else feel they were robbed by purchasing Windows Vista Ultimate? I mean seriously now, all I heard prior to release was about these fantastic extras which Ultimate users would be able to install thanks to the Windows Ultimate extras feature under Windows update. Ok now lets count the number of Ultimate Extras released thus far. Left hand up, Bitlocker, Dreamscene, Hold-em poker, hmmmm..... I cant think of any more! Come on Microsoft, you are being ridiculous. If you want people to carry on buying the top of the range product and giving them nothing extra for the huge extra amount of money!

ABility to turn off features, disable services/components, set backrgound to plain black, font colors to silver, and kill all gadgets, and just have APPLICATIONS open. When I work as an engineer, the las tthing I need are sidebars, clocks, weathers, and idiotic ninsense I can get when I NEED, not in my face.OCCUPYING VALUABLE DESKTOP SPACE.
I have a dozen hardcore apps open each of which may cost in $tens of thousands, Do I need to know time in London when I am coding a Microcontroler in C, and switch over to datsheet to check some chip pinout, and enter schematics and run a simulation?

I think as far back as win95 if you used windows explorer with status bar enabled (for vista this is called details plane) if you select a folder (in the navigation plane) in the status bar it would list the total number of items AND the total file size for all the files in the selected folder. Vista seems to have lost this feature and only the total amount of items are listed.
I'm a programmer so this feature has proved useful for me in certian cases. the workaround is to select all files but still why remove it from the unselected view? I can also detail out 4 other annoyances with the new explorer if MS would like more details shoot me an email.
1. Decending Sort in list mode kicks all the folders to the end of the file listing unlike previous versions of windows where the folders were sorted but stayed at the begining of the listing (should make this an option for what method the user would like to use).................

after weeks of fighting, troubleshooting, debugging, deleting, reloading, uninstalling, installing etc etc etc. I have finally come to the conclusion, that being able to print, is simply no longer a feature with windows operating system. Unless someone can tell me a fix that no one has discovered yet. I refuse to believe that the fix to our printing problems, is throw out the PC and get a new one. If thats the case i'm sure that there will be many people like myself who make the leap to MAC!

I only use Windows Mail to handle my MS newsgroups (it does an excellent job of this). I have now subscribed to 10 newsgroups, and am finding it harder to find the few I usually go to, compared to the ones that I only go to once or twice, whenever I have a rare question. Is there a way I can manually change the order in which they appear (in the left pane--I see "Local Folders" and "Microsoft Communities" as the two major sections)? It looks like Windows Main arranges them in alphabetical order. Is there any way I can drag-n-drop, or change them in any other way?

As an enterprise customer (using Windows Vista Enterprise), we've already
selected -- as most large corportate customers would -- an email system and
client. As such, I really don't understand why, just like with Outlook
Express (until XPSP2), you can't remove this product.
As a corporate customer, clearly we don't want our Vista users to be at all
confused between mail clients and would very much like to see at least some
sort of GPO that could "disable" the Windows Mail client so avoid any
confusion by our less capable users.

I am trying to permanently disable the Junk E-Mail filter in Windows Mail on Vista, but no matter what I try to do it still moves email to the "Junk Email" folder. This wouldn't be so bad if it were any good at it, but the problem is it moves a LOT of legitimate email. I have missed some very important emails because they are moved to junk. My ISP has a spam filter which is pretty close to perfect (Ironport), so I don't really get spam. I have set to "No Automatic Filtering" in options. I have disabled phishing filter in Internet Options and in Windows Mail. I have deleted all block lists etc.

Defender keeps finding a trojan that it cannot remove. It would appear it has something to do with advertising. I am asked ro re run defender becasue it can not be removed. Sending a report to microsoft consistenly fails and the whole process continues again until i eventually close defender. "ignoring" the finding does not work either. I have Trend micro Securuty Suite and it has never found the same trojan. Nor has 'spy hunter ' found it.Should i disable Defender?

After recently downloading recommended updates to my Windows Vista Ultimate system when I use MS I.E. to browse I get a red screen with the warning "Personal Security Alert New Data Base Update is Available. Viruses Detected on your PC. Following this is a signup sheet to subscribe ($$) to their Personal Security System. I can't get away from this screen without starting over with IE and once again the same thing happens! My ISP gives me a free McAfee Firewall and Virus Detection System which I have installed. I have turned off MS firewall and Anti Virus System. McAfee has scanned my system and reported it is clean.

Tab feature in web browsers like Firefox and IE 7 has definitely improved our efficiency as windows can be toggled much easier and faster within the same windows via tabs. Have you ever thought to have such a great feature in Microsoft Office as well? Now there is a nifty add-on, named as OfficeTab that is able to add tab feature in Microsoft Word, Excel & Powerpoint.

I work in different 3D programs and I have never had this problem before, and it only happens in Vista. When I create an image, my programs create the image, and I can save it with no problem. When I create an animation, the programs need to save the file after it creates each frame. Vista is blocking those programs from doing
this, and I need to have them allowed to create and save these files constantly. I like the security that Vista has, but is there any way to allow just certain programs to do this while keeping that security feature on for everything else?

After booting up my laptop and reaching the desktop, the right click feature will stop immediately after starting up completely, and clicking on anything is a problem on it's own. The only way I have found to work around it is to Ctrl + Alt + Del and Switch User, then go to the power options and restart, as the conventional way of shutting down does not work. I contacted my laptops manufacturer (ASUS) and they suggested that it could be a touchpad driver problem. So they emailed me the latest driver and I downloaded it. To my surprise, it actually worked..... for about 5 minutes. The right clicking problem still persisted. So I looked into other forums and they suggested a problem with some Context Menu Handlers. I downloaded the suggested program 'ShellExView' and followed the instructions down to the letter on how to use it. Currently, as I'm typing this post, I have had to copy and paste patches of text because when the right click feature stops, the keyboard disengages, and the only workaround is the power button.

I've got a pretty insignificant, but weird bug: the highly hyped, hardly useful 3d flip feature of Vista has just magically disapeared from my comp. Only thing I know I've done was installing the latest x64 security update (KB958644) just before this. The icon is still there, but it just brings up the old school blue box version, and winKey-tab no longer does anything. Anybody heard of an update removing this feature, or know where the mysterious 'flip' files are actually located?
