The sender is in the Safe Sender List and all possible settings have been checked as to the cause. Running Vista Ultimate 32 Bit. It is not a firewall setting and nor is the router firewall doing this. Identical machine with identical software runs perfectly as far as displaying HTML E-Mails in all their glory.

View 5 Replies View RelatedThis was the path to my stationery folder before I used Revo unstaller to uninstall the program "malwarebot remover" C:UsersOwnerAppDataLocalMicrosoftWindows MailStationery. Now AppData no longer appears and the Local folder is empty. Did the uninstaller cause this and is it necessary to have these items in the list? I now access my stationery folder in this way: C:program filescommon filesmicrosoft sharedstationery. Just curious about why the original path is no longer there and if AppData and Local folders are necessary for anything. If so, how do I get them back? I have a new computer an Emachine with Vista Home Basic and I use Windows Mail.

I canīt open anything, I canīt even change between opened software. The only thing that works is whatever program Iīm running, which I can continue to use with no problem, but once Iīm done, I have to signout the user to be able to turn it off. I press ctrl+alt+del, and the program administrator opens, but the computer doesnīt let me access it, since it freezes. I booted in safe mode and disabled everything on start up, still happens.
View 9 Replies View RelatedVista 64 installed fine however it will give a bsod when booting. The strange thing is it happens at the exact same spot every time. While booting the first low res green bar appears the slides left to right. THen the screen goes black. Instead of displaying the vista logo in the middle I see a bsod flash up and the system reboots. After a few goes it will boot properly and then run fine for hours. I've tried 2 different sets of RAM and both do the same thing. If I go down to 2gb it seems to be fine. I've seen the other thread, but its over 60 pages long!
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from Windows XP to Vista SP1. I have many years of WP documents using the "Image on Disk" feature to create my company's stationery on the fly without having to store a copy of the logo & graphics in each document. I used WP's default directory structure when storing the images and documents. Under Vista, it appears to be impossible to create the XP-style directory location for WP 12 or WP X4 to find the graphics.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am trying to boot into my Windows Vista Operating System, and it seems to freeze before the Welcome screen appears, is there a way that I can fix, this, the problem started straight after I had uploaded some pics from my Digital camera, I had already scanned the hard drive and I only found trojan horse virus in it, which is only one virus, can there be any other way to fix this?

I have a Windows "proficiency test" as part of a job interview. Looking at the interview schedule, it appears to last around 20 minutes or so. If I've been using either '98 or xp over the last twelve years or so, is there anything I can do to prepare? I have a feeling this is a very rudimentary test for someone who's used Windows for many years, but I like to be on the safe side. Any sample tests available you know of?
View 4 Replies View RelatedA few months ago, I was messing around with the Windows indexing options , adding folders, etc. and it seems to have screwed up the way Search works. I often need to access Folder Options, and I found the easiest way to do this was by hitting the Start key and typing "Folder" since I'm used to "Launchy" type utilities. However, for some reason, Folder Options no longer appears as a search result. I've rebuilt the index several times and it still doesn't show up. Neither does Programs and Features. I haven't tested every Control Panel utility but these seem to be the only 2 so far that do not show up on Search.
View 9 Replies View Relatedwhen i try to send email, a quick flash appears on the screen (like the action occurred successfully, very fast), but the message just goes to the outbox and is never sent, even upon prompt at program termination. i have checked all program and account settings, and everything is ok (especially the send messages immediately checkbox). i entered a secondary unrelated email address with different, known server addresses but the same thing occurred. i downloaded mozilla thunderbird and entered the primary email information and i could send messages with no problem. switching email programs permanately really is not a viable option at this point. this is not a server address problem, and the primary email does not require authentication.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an Acer laptop with Vista (SP1). Recently I have noticed the power icon no longer displays in the notification area. If I go to Taskbar and Start Menu Properties, Notification Area tab, the Power check box is grayed out and not checked. This may have happened as a result of installing SP1, which I did two weeks ago, but I am not sure. I did not notice this until three days ago.
I have tried a registry edit I found online (deleting any keys regarding "iconstreams"), but this did not help.
Something is dead wrong with my Vista Premium. Whenever I open the Windows Update panel, an empty window appears for an instance, and then Windows Explorer crashes and restarts. On top of that, Windows Update crashes on occasion by itself for a couple of times and then settles down. I did check the disk for errors, ran the scanners, manually installed most relevant updates I could find including the System Update Readiness Tool, also renaming the software distribution folder and resetting ie7 -all in vain.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an old windows 95 computer with Works 4.0 which has templates. I have copied them and installed them on to a computer with windows Vista and Works 9 When I open the template I get the following message. "There was an error loading data, your document appears to corrupted. Click yes to continue loading and display other errors, or click no to continue loading and suppress further errors. "Nothing happens if I click yes, but if I click no I get another message that says " 34 errors were found when database was opened." Click ok and the template opens and works ok, but things are missing in the template when you print it out. Is there a way to repair the errors?

View 9 Replies View RelatedHaving steadily used Win 7 since the first public I entirely sympathize with those who label it Vista SP3.It is not significantly faster than Vista 64 SP2 on the same hardware and uses the same drivers. It hiccoughs over many of the same obstacles. When a device manufacturer, for example Canon, markets a "new printer" but it uses the same inks as prior generation printers, Canon is doing nothing more than selling the the old print engine in a new box.The reason Win 7 came out so "fast" by Microsoft standards is that mostly they just grafted a tweaked UI onto Vista SP2.Vista SP2 is the engine that runs Win 7: new or old/new?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have tried to find the windows 7 Newsgroup in this list of Newsgroup where this one on Vista is, but I do not get a hit. Is there one in this group that I can add to my list and use to ask some questions?
Windows Vista has a lot of pretty and nice graphics, and pretty colors, etc, but it is very difficult to find some thing there when you are lost and the folder systems is extremely complicated sometimes. I use Vista now, have had it for about two years now, and I still have difficulty finding the logic of the folder system sometimes. I don't think that my former Windows XP was so complicated (do people agree?) Is the new Windows 7 as complicated as Vista? (I do not have Windows 7 yet).
Why does Vista keep automatically unsubscribing me from this newsgroup? I am fully convinced that Vista is too unstable for use in any serious and/or critical applications. Having said that I still believe it is not far short of miraculous when compared to computing operations of thirty years ago.
