I decided tonight to uninstall my spectacular Ultimate Extra Language Packs so I could install SP1... and what a shock. Am I missing something here or are you limited to just removing 1 Language at a time... taking 30+ minutes from start to finish... never mind that fact that you can select all of the languages you want to remove.
The installer states that I have the wrong language or wrong language packs installed. However, no language packs are installed that I can find, and installation itself is us english, albeitly with swedish regional settings.
When I stated that no language packs are installed, this is because no language packs are listed in the program list. It might have been installed as an update, but that list contains 79 updates with absolutely no details except KB numbers, and I'll be damned if I'm gonna lookup 79 KB articles manually to see if one of them is a language pack.
As language packs were so easily installed (as an option offerered thorugh windows update, and not as stand-alone installation like it was with XP and such, I just can't believe that MS don't support language packs more fluently than this)
I have Vista ultimate right? I go to Microsoft site cause I want the Korean IME since I am korean. But, the language pack says that its not compatible. Yes I have tried SP2 compatibility mode.
so i been updating Vista every time i need to but i see that i have about 30+ Language updates and i dont need none of them. How can i remove them from my list
My vista Ultimate cant install english language pack,my original language is chinese.but i wanna change it into english;i've downloaded over 20times,but it just cant install, the problem indicate "windows 00000002".and just now,it installed successfully, but a new problem came out.it just cant finish configuring updates..........
I just bought a laptop that has Vista Home on it in Spanish. I know that the ultimate upgrade gives you the language pack. Will a Ultimate Vista iupgrade n English work on this computer or does it have to be a Ultimate upgrade in Spanish?
I want to buy notebook but I rather confused to decide whether to take the Vista Home Premium or the Ultimate. I live in Japan but I only understand a little Japanese so I also want to have my Windows in English either. Is it enough only using Vista Home Premium and install the Windows Vista Language Interface Pack (LIP) on it?
Or I have to purchase the Ultimate and install the Windows Vista Multilingual User Interface Pack (MUI) on it? I don't know anything about Vista, so I cannot guess what this feature is for. Unlike XP. So I really need it in both English and Japanese. The Japanese, I need it for some parts of my job. The prices is quite high for the Vista Ultimate so if it is possible, I will not upgrade to Ultimate.
OS: Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit SP2, US, all installed updates. Before SP2 install, Italian Language Pack used to work fine. To install SP2 I had to uninstall Language Pack. After installed SP2 had to wait for additional language packs. Now they are officially released by Microsoft so I tryed to install them. I installed France, Dutch and Lituanian language packs with NO PROBLEM. Italian language pack refuse to install. Now Event Viewer report this error: The Language Pack for it-IT has been disabled. Reason: 0x2000. Event ID: 1002.
Out of sheer stupidity and over-excitement upon installing my new Vista Ultimate back in June last year, when I starting installing the widows Updates, I chose several non-essential updates ... most of which were language packs. I now have Dutch, Finnish, Hebrew, Hungarian, Japanese, Korean, Latvian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian,Slovenian, Swedish, and Thai....all of which I now need to get rid of. I'm experiencing some system errors that suggest they're related to one or more of these language packs. Regardless, I don't need them and want to eliminate them. HOWEVER, when I attempt to remove them through the lpksetup.exe process (or same with Control Panel>>Regional and Language Options>>keyboards__ and Languages >>Install/Uninstall languages ), it goes through the process (creating restore point, removing language packs, etc.) and after several minutes, gives me a window which states, "All selected language files failed to be removed". Then, it shows a list with all of the languages I selected which is titled "Failed removals:".
I just updated my copy of Vista Ultimate to SP2 (RTM). I noticed that after running Windows Update, the Language Packs that were once there have dissapeared. Is this normal?
I have been working on a users computer for a about a week now and have read about 100 posts on google. I am having trouble uninstalling Service Pack 2 from her Vista X64 machine. I want uninstall the service pack because it has created havoc for her computer. It constantly keeps rebooting at random times and shows a blue screen beginning to dump physical memory. Then when Windows boots back up it says it has recovered from a serious error. On average the computer reboots at least 4 or 5 times a day. I have tried to remove it from the control panel and it says "uninstall was not completed successfully." Her system restore date does not go back far enough, so I can not restore her PC before the SP2 was installed. Have tried all the steps from the following post: How to uninstall Windows Vista service packs as a troubleshooting step. The command line option just sits there for about 5 minutes and then returns to the C: prompt, it never asks me to reboot the system. Another technician installed the SP and he did not save the restore files. I have tried to download the SP 2 and place the file in C: emp and uninstall through the command line but this also does not work. I am stuck and need help uninstalling service pack 2. The user also just purchased an HP printer office jet 6500 and have read online that HP printers have not had much success with Vista x64 systems. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If possible, I do not want to reload the PC and I only have remote access to the computer.
I think I may have a problem: I have installed the Vista beta service pack (6001). But I don't know how to uninstall it. I have gone to add/remove programs/view installed updates and it doesn't appear there. I definitely have it, because under My Computer it says: Windows Vista ™ Ultimate Service Pack 1, v668 On my desktop, on the bottom right hand corner, it says: Windows Vista ™ evaluation copy. Build 6001. In Windows Updates, it has an entry on 15/12/2007: Update for Windows Vista (KB937287) - Build 6001.17052 (x86). Status: successful. When I double click on it, the information panel says (among other things) it cannot be uninstalled. It has another entry, also 15/12/2007: Vista Service Pack 1 Release Candidate 1 - Bulid 6001.17052 (x86). Status: failed. I believe that I have to uninstall the beta service pack before I can load the full version when it is released. Also,
When I turned Vista on today it said there was an update. So here I am installing this update that seems like an hour, only to find it did not install and it reverting back the changes. Why didn't this install? Is there a program conflict somewhere? I never had a problem like this with XP. I have my firewall off (Comodo) and really don't have much programs installed since it's just my laptop.
can you tell me a way to uninstall Call of Duty other than through putting in the disk and pressing UNINSTALL or in the 'All Programs'? Because it just won't uninstall there: I press install and the window simply closes and nothing else. I am asking this because I have found some patches on the Activision website (now I can get on it again) and I wan't to reinstall it...
I was having problems installing a program (Berlitz German Premier) where the install would just disappear halfway thru the process. A program would not appear under my programs list but when I went to Uninstall an icon for uninstall of the Berlitz software appears for each time I tried to install it. However I get the following error messages (see attached document with screen captures) when I tried to delete it the traditional way.
When I use Windows Install Clean Up utility, the program is nowhere to be found on the list; thus I can't use that program.
Somehow the 'uninstall' button disappeared for most programs on my Vista Home Premium box when I used Control Pannel -> Programs -> Uninstall a Program. A few programs still have 'uninstall' button available - those have 'installed on' showing. The rest (80+% of all)don't have 'installed on' values showing and don't have 'uninstall' button.
I have recently bought a new computer from acer with vista and it came with a posiblility to upgrade to win7 (http://www.acer.com/windows7upgrade), but i have a slight problem.
I need to specify which language vista is installed inn or it won't work, i figured it would be norwegian (as i am from norway), but allmost all the menus are in english as well as everything in the start menu ("Computer" instead of "Datamaskin" etc...).
I was wondering if there is an easy way to figure out which language the OS is installed in.
I live in Spain and bought my wife a laptop. She is having trouble with the language and wants to change it to English, I am a bit annoyed at having to buy an English copy of Vista. Especially after watching an MS promotion video of how they are working to cover the need of using multiple languages, why the step back in Vista then ? It is an Acer laptop and also has programs pre-loaded and a backup restore installed etc. If I buy the English vista, do I have to do a clean install to get English Vista on, or just load it as a repair, and will it need re-activating etc ? If it does need a clean install then I will lose everything that has been pre-installed and and will be an expensive experience.
I had seen a similar topic at this forum before, but I can't find it. I am looking for a way allowing me to type in Chinese in this keyboard. I looked up the Vista "help" section. I am supposed to download the Language Interface Pack (LIP) first. However, when I went to the MS web site and clicked on the map that said "Asia", Chinese language was NOT on the list. The Whole Asia continent! Go figure ! The method I saw before in this forum was very different than the "help" section.
I added Korean as other input language on Vista home premium system. I do see korean language bar appeared on my screen, but it won't just let me type in korean.
I am english but live in spain just bought a new laptop with vista basic and its all in spanish. unfortunatly my spanish is not that good is there anyway of changing it into english.
After Vista and Office installation and update, I tried to EASY TRANSFER from my old laptop all data. It was not able to make the transfer because the old laptop (hp Presario) was running in other language (English XP)
There was no WARNING that once one language is selected it can not go back and select the other. There was no WARNING that to make the EASY TRANSFER Vista and XP must run in the same language. EASY TRANSFER is essential for my job (emails, addresses, favourites w passwords and many others) Please give me a solution. Otherwise I can not use it for the reason I have bought it.
