People here are smart enough not to use that crappy Ubuntu in any form. Alpha, Beta, or Release. Ubuntu is still the same crap. Doesn't run the popular software programs out there. Most reject Ubuntu as garbage.
the main audience is "Vista" users. People who already spent a lot of money for an operating system, which they do want to use now. Ubuntu has a clear right of existence in it's area, but not in this group. If you like it better, fine. But don't try to spread your "religion" here when someone asks for help about a Vista problem.
when vista came out everyone was trying to escape by getting xp... then they started using ipods, iphones, MAC OSX, even crappy Linux! Then windows 7 came out and everyone is trying to get rid of the crap OS named vista. The vista infection still exists... but it will die very soon...
have been using this programme for a while no problems. if any of you are familiar i would definately recommend it.
recently however i have just built my first pc and obvioulsy dont want to do anything that may cause issues with my system, what im wondering is what exactly am i getting rid of when i delete the registery. will it get rid of game patches that i want to keep etc. or can i clear it all with no problems.
Just sharing an experience. These ReadyBoost usb thumb drives seem to be a real hit and miss thing. I just bought a Patriot 16GB Xporter XTBoost usb thumb drive. I tried it on one computer running Vista Ultimate x64 and the machine just kept trying to find a driver for it but never succeeded in mounting it.
I tried it on another computer running VU x86 and it came right up and let me configure it for ReadyBoost. I then booted into a VU x64 installation on that same computer and it configured it for storage fine but failed it for ReadyBoost.
i recently updated with a core2 quad processor and a new gigabyte mobo, and now my vista is no longer activated and i found my CD key using some winproductkey finder program, and got it, its been activated for about a year now, and now its asking to activate it. I tried just typing in the CD key again and i get error 0xC004E003. i just want to reactivate it. It also had no option to call to activate it over the phone...
Cut the crap: classic is slower than aero (*) Ahhh yes.. educating the vistaboys once more.. the cluless mvps and vista-trolls alike. What can I do.. its so ironic that I, who think vista is a bucket of crap, know more than most fanboys about their OS. So here is the lesson of the day:
(*) Classic is slower than aero on machines that are aero glass capable. This is a clear fact that so many have gotten wrong is hilairious. Even tech geeks give this as one of their tips to make vista faster.
If your card doesnt support aero then classic is as slow as with the aero basic theme, and that means absolutly NO acceleration (compared to XP that DID have GDI acceleration that was lighning fast!) But its not faster with classic theme. Its slower........
I'll be damned if Vista insists on biting me after every damn update! Does MS even test this crap or simply pass it by the testers desk? I get things calmed a bit then another update and I'm losing text and the cursor has an epileptic fit. This is a systemic situation starting last November to present as things were fine till they updated something. I've spoken with users from private community to DOD and they all report same.
I was able to delete MovieMaker, PhotoGallery, Games/etc crap folders which are inaccessible or @least undeletable for normal people. I can delete Windows itself, of course won't ever do that, but theoretically I defeated every shiled that prevents normal people to fully control their "assets". My point is not to brag about it or advertise pointless actions. I am just happy I own this laptop & every bit of harddisk except Bootsector (which I can still penetrate with special binary tools).
Things people think can't be done, can be done if you have brains. Also since I hate WinLiveMail and all Live applications, I forced regular WinMail to work under WIndows7 RC; I am sure when Windows7 comes out I won't be bothering with LiveMail horrendous crapware. WinMail will work here, ideally I want OutlookExpress but... there's a technical problem that prevente dme from forcing it run under Windows7 (too long to explain). Or I might simply start using Outlook which's been idle in my MSOffice2007,except it's too bloated and makes me feel bad about losing good old OE. So folks, you can access and delete things, dont ask me how b/c Microsoft who runs these forums will not appreciate, I just can do whatever.... it's my laptop after all.
Open Source Linux Ubuntu 8.04 LTS RTM'ed On The Same Day As Windows XP SP3 RTM (April 21st, 2008), Just FYI. P.S. Open Source Linux Ubuntu 8.04 LTS RTW's On April 24th, 2008, And Windows XP SP3 RTW's On April 29th, 2008, Also Just FYI.
I Went To Alot Of Posts And Said To Quite A Few People The Following: Re-Format Your Computer And Install Either Open Source Linux Ubuntu 7.10 RTW, And/Or Open Source Linux Ubuntu 8.04 Long Term Support Alpha 6, Just FYI. I Want You To Know That I Was Out Of Line. Just FYI. My Doctor Called And Made An Emergency Delivery Of More Medication So I Won't Be Such A Pain. Just FYI.
Just FYI. If You Are A Geek, You Can Install Ubuntu. If You Are A Shut-In Like Alias, You Can Install Ubuntu. My Psychiatrist Said That Most People Who Use Ubuntu Are Not "Right" If You Know What I Mean. Just FYI. You Really Need To Use Vista Or Go Back To Windows XP If Vista Isn't Working. Just FYI. To Use Ubuntu Means You Are Sick.
Ubuntu, it is generally well known, as being behind Windows Vista or 7 in the sales department, possibly on a scale of about 50-1. Normally, sales indicate popularity on a product. We can also assume from these figures that volume of sales could also indicate a certain quality of that product.
Therefore, on that assumption, the 50-1 deficit that Ubuntu lags behind in the sales department, is possibly not even the 2nd best nor even the 3rd or 4th best OS come to think of it. I therefore pondered on this question. Why on earth should I settle for second best, let alone third or fourth best? If they can afford it, most people in life want the best. That is why I will be buying Windows 7 this month...........
It seems that people who troll here have nothing better to do. They think Ubuntu is the greatest product since sliced bread. Yet they come here day after day, trying to get people to switch to that inferior product. Ubuntu is for nerds. The reason they come here is they can't use Ubuntu so they do the next best thing. Come to the vista group and try to get people to convert. Most people are smart enough to see through all that crap. People want to use their Windows Vista or Windows XP. They don't need or want some stupid piece of crap like Ubuntu.
Question: How to use Ubuntu Live CD using LAN. I want to access my dead vista laptop using my windows xp desktop with the use of ubuntu live cd, is this even possible? Vista Startup Repair cannot repair this computer automatically. Can no longer boot up after vista update. Microsoft Windows Vista Community Vistaheads.
Alias is getting a big hard on ( well for Alias it's big, but in the scheme of things 1 inch isn't much) about the new release of that INFERIOR Opetating System Ubuntu, Spicy Sphincter or whatever it's called. One thing for sure, Ubuntu is WORTHLESS for 99.999% of the population out there because Ubuntu doesn't run any of their software. Alias is the Ubuntu Marketing Department and Alias is a lost mental soul. He believes that he can convert users to that piece of crap when in reality
Ubuntu knows that almost everyone hates Ubuntu and refused to run that piece of crap, so they pulled out all stops and they gave Alias the green light to step up marketing their INFERIOR product. Alias is the Marketing Department for Ubuntu. We will continue to get daily count-down posts because will all the money they are paying Alias (NOTHING), he came up with brilliant strategy. Blanket the Vista Forum with a daily count down of their release of their next INFERIOR product.
I Have Been Playing With Ubuntu Beta For The Last Few Days, Just FYI And I Can't Do Anything With Ubuntu. Just FYI. Ubuntu Is Pretty Stupid. Just FYI. I Think I Will Reinstall Windows Vista And Then Upgrade To Service Pack 1 On All My Machines. Just FYI. That Will Give Me Something To Do For The Rest Of The Day And Evening. Just FYI. Alias is quite a two face. Shame on the corporations making money, while he yachts it away on monies made installing Ubuntu. ITN News: MADRID - Air pollution has long been a fact of life in Spanish cities, but scientists now say it is not just smog that chokes people as they walk to work or stroll through the park. A new study has found the air in Madrid and Barcelona is also laced with atleast five drugs - most prominently cocaine.
The Superior Council of Scientific Investigations, a government institute, said on its Web site Thursday that in addition to cocaine, they found trace amounts of amphetamines, opiates, cannabinoids and lysergic acid - a relative of LSD - in two air-quality control stations, one in each cities. With the amount of WEED Alias smokes and the drugs in the air, Alias' brain has been fried. No wonder why Ubuntu does well in Spain, they are too stoned to know any better. My mom has recently returned from France & Spain, and is not too impressed. Homeless, poor and one woman tried to snatch my mom's purse in daylight. Congratulations Alias. Yours is a truly developed country.
I just had a motherboard go south on an AthlonXP 2200+ machine. So, I removed the hard drive thinking I would have to reinstall Ubuntu on its new machine, an AthlonXP 3000+ machine with a different video card, MB, NIC in a different PCI slot and a fax modem in a different PCI slot. So, I fired up the computer and didn't hit F11 soon enough to boot from the Ubuntu CD and much to my surprise, Ubuntu loaded as if nothing had happened.
I thought I would download the new Ubuntu 8.04 and give it a try because all the Ubuntu nut jobs were saying how cool Ubuntu is with their new release. I installed Ubuntu on my machine. I tried Open Office Spreadsheet. I thought I would try to enter a Macro then run it. I then had to install Java to be able to run a macro. If I didn't know that I needed to use Synaptic to figure out how to get the Java update, I would be screwed along with many others who try this crap. Just FYI
OK, so Java installs. BFD. It works but it isn't that good. Now, lets play some music. I navigated to bobrivers.com to play a tune. I was prompted to install some more updates. Fine. Did that. The install went OK. Then I had to install a couple more updates. That went fine. Now I clicked on the song to play and the page just froze.
No wonder why Ubuntu is such a piece of crap. Can't play a simple tune from a web page. Now in Vista, I could navigate right to the page, play the song and I would be as happy as a clam in a whorehouse.
If You Fall For The New Ubuntu Hype, You Are A Retard Because Ubuntu Offers Nothing New. Just FYI. Ubuntu Doesn't Run Any Decent Programs. Just FYI. Ubuntu Is In A Small Number Of PC's. Just FYI. Ubuntu Is A Total Waste Of Time And Effort. Just FYI. I Use Windows Vista RTM And SP1 And I Have On My Other Machine Windows 2008 Server. Just FYI. Douche bag, is considered to be a pejorative term in Australia, the United States, Canada and New Zealand. The slang usage of the term dates back to the 1960s. The metaphor of identifying a person as a douche is intended to associate a variety of negative qualities, specifically arrogance and malice. In Vista.General forums, Douche Bag is usually associated with, Alias, NoStop, oh great, and kevpan815 who always post negative crap about Vista and try to convert users to Ubuntu.
I Am Running Ubuntu And I Don't Know What To Do With Ubuntu. It Just Sits There. Just FYI. I Will Wipe Ubuntu Clean And Install Windows Vista. Just FYI
