I do successfully receive attachments of all kinds and iI can save those in one go by using Save attachments under the paperclip - but for .jpgs all of a sudden. They are there, they show up perfectly in the preview pane, I can rightclick and save them individually from the pane. However, in the Save Attachments list the images are listed correctly but greyed out so I cannot do a multiple Save anymore. Any clues to this strange and unwanted behaviour? Is there a way to 'repair' Vista Windows Mail?
I am experiencing problems opening a word attachment, when i click on the attachment to open it nothing happens, I have tried to save it and then open it and won't let me save it. I get the error message, Command failed to execute. I have plenty of memory free and am baffled as to what it could be.
I am using a Acer Aspire laptop and using aol webmail for my email. I am not able to open or save attachments from my email. a window will open up and ask to save or open, but when I click open it will save as if it is going to open the attachment but never shows the attachment. when I "save as" an attachment it supposedly sends it to my computer, but I can never find the file. If I go to recent downloads and select the file that I downloaded it says it is missing the shortcut. I am up to date with Adobe Reader for pdf files.
Like many others based on previous posts, am unable to open or save attachments in windows mail. I think my problem is exactly the same as "anhlyss" had in the posts in January. I am hoping there is an easier fix than restoring factory setting. As suggested in other threads, I have ensured that I have unchecked the "do not allow attachments to be opened" box in options.
If I click on the attachment to open it, the little hourglass pointer comes up, and then goes back to the arrow, but nothing else happens. If I try to save the attachment, I get this message: "There was an error saving one or more of your attachments, please check your free disk space and try again"
Do you have any useful links to resources to save attachments with a script or rule in windows mail. What I have seen, there is only an option to move the message to a special folder in the windows mail rules
JPGs on my desktop are not opening when I click on them. They will not open if I try right clicking and select preview, edit or open with to open them. JPGs in folders on my desktop or other places will open. If I take the JPGs that will not open and put them into a folder they open. If I take the same JPGs and put them back on the desktop they will not open.Last night these files were opening. I have not installed any new programs. I am using Vista SP1 and AVG anti virus.
Something has changed in my Home Premium system such that I can no longer save to the desktop! When I try, I get an error message stating " You don't have permission to save in this location." I do not recall changing ANY permissions to prevent this. I did have a problem installing Office Home 2007 and maybe that caused a change. Where do I need to go to set the permission back to allow me to save to the desktop?
Having noticed that some of the automated tasks I had scheduled were not running, I opened Services.msc and looked at Task Scheduler which hadn't started. Selecting properties showed all options greyed out. I can't select Automatic, Manual, Disabled or anything. The contents of all other tabs are also greyed out. All dependencies are running.
Already checked Brink's tutorial but didn't see this issue: my "share" button on the sharing tab is slightly greyed out and not clickable... i know i've taken care of this before but i just can't remember what to do about it?
Vista 64 home premium, office 2007 home and students -have word doc open, scroll to send to -and email button is greyed out? I am using windows mail and its set as default e-mail program
The Data Execution Prevention options are grayed out. I am the administrator and no matter what i try it will not let me click on a button. Is there a fix for this?
i have a problem with Task Scheduler, i need it to work for my auto back ups, but i cannot turn it from manual to auto in the services panel as the box is greyed out, i can start it manually but if i turn my laptop of i have to restart it again manually. Also Windows loses all the backup settings and i have to do everything again. Everything is ok as long as i don't have to restart my laptop. i have checked all the uac settings i know all the other services that depend on it everything seems ok. No other services have there box for changing from manual, auto, or disable greyed out
My system has been hard rebooting due to a bad video driver... now if I start windows medis player if greys out on me and says: "Windows Media player has stopped working". Is there a way to uninstall WMP and then reinstall it to fix the issue.
I tried post on maintenance etc but got no advice Any ideas as to why I suddenly have this need to keep resetting the network adapter via network sharing? (I am sure its associated here) I have just changed ISP and their supplied router is both wireless and Ethernet. My previous was Ethernet only. I only use Ethernet at the moment but network sharing keeps identifying two networks. I cant merge or delete as that option is greyed out.
I am the only user on my laptop. I accepted the Toshiba settings when I bought the machine, but I realise that there are a number of features that are disabled that (as an administrator) I should be able to use. for example:
1. Windows Defender will show me the details of start-up programs but not allow me to remove/enable/disable anything (the buttons are greyed-out/disabled).
2. There are some folders (e.g. in my internet favourites) which are read-only and when I switch read-only off, it ignores what I've done - they remain read-only.
I have just received my Gateway computer. Hard drive (300 GB) is partitioned into C 290 GB and D 10GB. I want to change that. Using Disk Management I used 'Shrink volume' menu reduce C drive to 180 GB and received 110 GB unallocated space. Now I would like to add that unallocated space to D drive, however "Extend volume' menu on D drive is greyed out.
Basically, I tried to create a new Primary Partition on my hard drive, using the Shrink tool. I was told to do this via a tutorial. Something went wrong, and now I've got 30GB stored in three separate partitions that I cannot use. Not only that, but Disk Management now says I have five Primary Partitions. When I right click on these three partitions (which are nameless by the way) the only option that isn't greyed out is "Delete Volume".
I finally got my wireless NW going, but now find that I need to re-enter the WEP key (after I select the SSID) every time that I want to network. How do I save my configuration information (including WEP) so that my network is connected every time I boot up? Ideally this would automatically select my SSID from the others in my neighborhood and the WEP would already be entered. My second choice would be to select the SSID and the 10-character WEP would laready be entered.
After right clicking on a .png file in either internet explorer 8, or, firefox 3.5. The images end up a blank file? There is no image, and I cannot open it? I can save .jpeg images ok though? Does anyone know why I cannot save .png files?
Running Vista Ultimate x64 with IE8. Otherwise, the machine is updated and running perfectly. Message: "The webpage could not be saved" in Web Archive and Webpage Complete. It can be saved when HTML Only is selected, but when the file is opened it only results in opening the browser to whatever state it is currently in. It can also be saved as Text File but when that is opened, the file only reads: "Windows live hotmail".
When ever i leave my computer idled for a long time the monitors turn black and i can't do anything but shut it down and start it up again. When i shut it down it says "Out of range input 1" Then i turn it off again and this time it has an error saying Vista didn't start up correctly, then i hit "start windows normally" then i can do stuff. How do i wake it up without shutting it down.
I have tried 2 utilities so far...desktop shock and solways layout saver and neither work. Solway's says a menu option will be added to save layout but it is not there and desktop shock was almost as useless and my anti virus said it was a keylogger. Anyone know a utility for this that actually works with Vista (64)?
I need this because everytime I install new vid card drivers it scrambles my icon and I have to put all of them back which takes a few minutes but if I can find a utility to do this it would be nice.
