I have upgraded my windows XP to Vista ( Business version 32 bit...cuz I got it for free ) , so I am having problem with the VGA card. The operating system won't recognize my Gforce 6600 card and still saying Standared VGA Card. I also tried to run (182.08_geforce_winvista_32bit_english_whql) but no changes. Is this problem because of Vista Business version? if yes, is it even possible to solve it?
View 5 RepliesI did a clean install of Windows Vista Home Premium and the system operates faster than with my previous set-up with XP. After updating some of my drivers from Windows update, I am satified with VISTA so far except that I noticed that Windows identifies my video card as a standard VGA. When I down loaded the Nvidia driver from Toshiba (QG20disp-7882), it seemed to install and operate correctly however Internet Explorer would not start after the installation. I tried several times with the same results. To get the internet working again I had to Restore the sytem to the previous standard VGA set up. This standard VGA set-up limits the ability to see videos with Media Center. Has anyone run into this problem and how can I solve it. Incidentaly the
NVIDIA card has 128 MB dedicated memory so it should be able to run AERO but it is not available.
I recently re-installed vista home premium back on my vaio vgn-fz17g laptop after the system crashed and i noticed a few problems. 1. the computer wont read an sd card. 2. the computer does not recognise my graphics card. 3.i have an unknown device on my device manager. 4. my "UGX"? has no drivers (and none can be found) 4. my base score used to be 4.0 today i installed another gb of ram and i checked my base score and instead of going up it went down to 1.0 i cant even use aero anymore. the base score is where i realised my graphics card disappeared all that shows up in device manager is standard vga graphics adapter when i have a 512mb graphics card somewhere inside.

View 8 Replies View RelatedSince I have upgraded the PC to Vista, I cannot use anymore WinTV-HVR-1300 (PCI) (Same issue with PCTV Dual hybrid - PCI-Express). Vista simply hangs while booting, the last driver loaded is crcdisck.sys. If I remove the WinTV card Vista works perfectly. With WinXP all was working fine. I tried to remove all the cards from the PC... the issue happens when I insert the WinTV or the PCTV card... Of course I also tried to change some settings in the BIOS without success.

I have been using an SD card in my laptop for portable storage for ~6 months. Suddenly, I have started getting an error message saying that "Disk is write protected." The tab on the SD card is in the unlock position. I have tried using the properties window to change it but their is no option to change it from Read Only or Change Permissions. If I click on a folder on the SD card and try to change it via the Properties Windows the window says that it is "Read Only" but when I uncheck "Read Only," it says I can't
because the disk is Read Only. And again I can't find any option to change
ownership or permissions.
We have Vista Home Edition. When I want to download only new pictures of our sd card I have to wait and download the entire sd card. We have liek 550 pics so far and it will only grow. Why do we have to go thru these everytime? I only want the new pics.

This morning I was able to access my SD card for my camera with no problem. But then all of a sudden I went to download some pictures that I had taken afterwards and the computer doesn't recognize the card. When I unplug it from the reader it does the ejection sound but when I plug it in it gives an error sound (three small low grade beeps). I put the SD back in my camera and the pictures are still there. Why is Vista not recognizing the card all of a sudden?

View 5 Replies View Relatedmy gfx card temps are a little worrying. Playing a company of heroes 40 minute long game with 8 players on a large map, my temps go up to about 80c. But it always idles around 70c even when ive just turned my pc on. even the gt200 cards get a lower idle reading than this, and mines only an 8800gts 512card. I dont think its a stuck sensor either, because if i open up my pc, i cant even touch the heatsink because its so hot.

Until today, when I inserted a CF card into the appropriate slot in the CPU, it opened up fine. Suddenly, now, when plugging in a CF, I get a message telling me the CF card has to be formatted. I tried this with a blank CF, but then got a message saying the card couldn't be formatted. All I want to do is view/copy/delete the images on my cards.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a HIS ATI Radeon HD 4870x2 Graphics card I am getting very poor gpu clock and memory speeds on both cores of my graphics card. at both 3D and 2D mode, using GPU-Z 0.3.0.0 and ati 8.12 catalyst control center I know that in 3D mode it should be at 750MHZ and 900MHz and 2D at 507MHz and 500MHz(2gpu). I have un-installed and re-installed the 8.12ccc with no change at all, also using driver cleaner(in safe mode) when un-installing. I get no arifacts as I use ExpertTool V4.0, enable fan contol for cooling while playing games. Its just the card will not run at its full potentuall or how it should.
