Everything worked fine until, I went and used a 360 controller emulator (don't bother telling me i shouldn't have - I have that covered). I backed up all the original drivers and installed the emulator. it didn't work, so like an idiot I tried putting them in the sys directories to replace the system drivers thinking that might work.... ok bad move it didn't work, so I replaced everything back to the way it was and continued life without a 360 controller. I plugged in the Rumblepad 2 and it IS recognized by the logitech software, but the microsoft game controller control panel wouldnt start. Also the pad doesn't work in ANY game.
I tried reinstalling microsoft common controller 64bit but it gives me an error message "not enough storage available to process this command." - I've tried every work around i could find with no luck. (note: it's not the "not enough server storage..." error). Back to the joystick problem - I've also replaced the joy.cpl and direct x drivers, ran dxdiag with no errors, nothing seems to fix the joystick problem, and I can't install the common controller 64 bit without the error.
I've downloaded StepMania onto my computer so that i can play DDR and I have a game pad and a USB converter too so I configured everything and I'm really having no trouble but when i play the computer is reading the arrows as an analog and not separate buttons this really isn't and issue except for when i am holding one arrow down and i press on the other it only reads one making double notes impossible.
so i went into the control pannel, went into game controllers, and it says that it is a 4 axis 16 button joystick and when i go to properties and press the arrows it moves the axes in the direction of whatever arrow i press and only moves one way when I press both arrows...so my prediction was correct...what i can't figure out though is how to program the pad to read as buttons instead of a joystick axes?
I have my power settings configured ot turn off the monitor after 15 minutes of inactivity. . . but the problem is, if I'm playing a game with my Logitech USB Gamepad, Vista doesn't count the input from the gamepad as 'activity', which is a little puzzling.
Is there a way to get Vista to recognize gamepad input as activity so that it does not turn off my display in the middle of playing my game? I do realize that I can change my power settings to just not turn off the display, but that's inconvenient because then I have to change my settings back when I'm done with the game. As far as I'm concerned, Vista is just not behaving in a reasonable fashion if game controller input doesn't prevent screen blanking.
i installed game spy when i got C@C tiberium wars. and the expansion. it first worked but then i dont know why but it wont work. i dont know why. i even installed the .net framework 1.1 and it told me to updated to the fram i had. it just gives me the old program ran into problem windows has colsed program window.

I was playing I saved my game while I was skateboarding. I had done 23% of the game. And when it loads it stops and says "Game EXE has stopped working and it closes. Sometimes it works but this is a new CD beacause my old cd of the game was all scratched so I put it somewhere.
I just installed this game but it stutters heavily and in the main menu i can't see the mouse. It isn't my system I have a AMD HD4850 an E8400 , even FarCry2 works perfectly. Can it be that this game isn't vista x64 proof??

I have nVidia as per title, but when I want to play HD 1080p videos through VLC player I come into problems. It starts of 1-2 second then stops, while you can hear the sound, then plays the video for another 1-2 second and stops again, while you can hear the sound. When attempts to play the video, it jumps to where video should be together with the soudn you can see pixels and very slow movements and it stops again. Almost it seems that it is buffering the video while attempting to play it in the same time. I know that max resolution is 2560x1600 which is more then enough to 1080p HD videos. I have 17" monitor, Q6600, 4GB ram. how can I play 1080p HD file without having video output start stop. Went an downloaded trial version of CoreAVC and was able to play it through Windows media player

Just got Vista (32). Battlefield 1942 expansion installed fine. runs for a second or 2 then crashes. Tried to reinstal, same thing. Came up with (game failed, game closing)?
I can sucessfully load up the game and all however whenever i try to join a multiplayer game(says "Joining Server... then crashes" or finish loading a single player game(after the textures are loaded or the shaders it just crashes) OR whenever i click audio in settings my game(right after i click audio it just goes boom) just crashes back to desktop with the BF2142.exe error. I've read about many different crashes with other people but this seems different, people have had crashes during map changes, splash screen, and a few secs after joining the server, havent seen anyone with my problem of crashing when i see the "joining server.." box.
I've tried 1)reinstalling/repatching 2)run the exe as admin. 3)disable UAC and reinstall/repatch after restart
Im pretty sure my computer can handle the game, my old one did fine and this one owns it. Im kind of lost, I've tried many things and this freaking game just doesnt want to work.
I installed SS2 on this PC (runs windows vista home premium 32bit), but sadly the game won't run correctly. I've looked around a little bit, and I see that not watching the videos is a common problem. But that's not my main problem <:/ I can run the game just fine for about 30 seconds... suddenly, it just freezes. The last sound is looped, and the mouse is frozen.
I redid Vista and in my device manager, I'm getting two issues. One is my Coprocessor. It can't find the drivers for this.. Also it's having trouble with the "SM Bus Controller" driver. What exactly can I do to fix these two issues? This is a custom build so I don't have the luxury of having a restore disc or anything like this, which seems to be the common fix for this issue around the net.
I recently added a new hard drive to my system to give me a bit more storage room. All drives in the system are SATA, 2x Raptor 36GB, 1 Plextor DVD burner, and the new Samsung 250GB. The Raptors are currently not in a RAID. What occurs during Vista shutdown? It may give me some more insight into my problem.
During shutdown, the new drive gets thrashed for 3-5 minutes before the system drive updates config and shuts down. Could this be some sort of conflict with the controller? Raptors are SATA 150 and the Samsung is 300. Is Vista writing a system restore to that drive at shutdown? (A friend theorized that, and it sounded logical enough)
I have Vista Ultimate 64 and my xbox 360 controller. everything says it should load right up as soon as i plug it in, but it's not and i'm starting to get frustrated with it. I've downloaded and installed (running as admin) the xbox controller software and still the guide light is just flashing, my system does not recognize the device but it chimes when i unplug it and plug it back in. in the device manager it's showing up, but in control panel it does not.
I?ve 2 mobo USB input on front of my desktop and others on a PCI USB Controller. If I connect my usb keyboard to mobo USB input the keyboard is avilable before boot, too. Is there a way to get the same result connecting the usb keyboard to USB PCI Controller? (by tools, bios settings, other?)
Card is installed and works fine in my Vista Ultimate x64 system. 4GB RAM. Primary drive is SATA connected to on-board. Storage drives are to be connected to controller card. System boots fine as long as drives aren't connected to card. Once drives connected, system sits at boot-up splash screen w/ knight rider status bar. Never boots.
Under Device Manager there is a ! next to MASS STORAGE CONTROLLER (MSC). When I check on it, the message is that there is no driver and it is not working properly because it has a problem. I tried searching for a driver with no luck. What does A MSC do and how do I find a driver? There is no brand name listed for it.
I've recently just got vista and was looking forward to some gaming... But alas it looks as though none of my controllers are working. on XP I used to be able to connect my PS3 controller and load up a driver and it would run a dream. I also had a PS2 to PC adapter, but that isn't recognised either. So unless anyone knows any work arounds for these (or maybe some drivers which I haven't found), what is the best controller and/or adapter that will run without any problems on Vista Ultimate 64?
I'm completely stumbed at the moment. I have plugged an Xbox 360 Controller to my computer which is decent gaming pc (can play Crysis on High with high fps) with Vista Ultimate 64. Recently i picked up Wanted, Lost Planet and Dead Space. Wanted keeps crashing at start up until I unplugged it and then it started to work. Lost Planet works perfectly fine... Dead space keep crashing at random when its plugged in and I'm using it to play the game. I have uninstalled and reinstalled its drivers countless times and everytime its under "Unknown" in Device Manager. I've unplugged and replugged it many times, I've installed and reinstalled the Xbox 360 accessories software and nothing seems to be fixing this. I've also used CCleaner after uninstalled to clean the registry.
I know it's the controller itself, because when I use Kb/M, I can play for hours without the game crashing. I have read a lame solution, pretty simply its the lazy solution that almost everyone keeps telling me, which to unplug the controller. But I want to use my controller for this game so that solution doesn't cut it for me. Has anyone ever encounter this problem, if so mind sharing you're solution?
My computer is very slow on wireless so I plugged in and ethernet cable... However it isnt being recognised.... I went to drivers and it says my ethernet controller isn't installed. After searching for very long I found a forum where someone seemed to have the same problem. They were told to download a program called EVEREST. I downloaded this program however I now have no idea what to do with it. Noone is answering me on that forum so I have come here for a release from the stress!
I have a Zalman 9700-NT cooler, which uses a 4 pin connector to connect to the motherboard, but I want it to connect to my fan controller, so I can have direct control to when I want to lower it, only problem is the extension cables that came with the fan controller can't connect to a 4 pin cpu fan connector, they're all 3 pin. Anyone know where I could find a 4 pin to 3 pin fan cable? I've had a look around, but not having much luck.
i recently bought a sweex bluetooth usb adapter and was woundering if i could connect my wireless controller to it. i read on the pack that the bluetooth is at 2.400ghz - 2.480ghz and that the controller is 2.4ghz radio frequency technology. will this work, or is the controller not bluetooth??
I recently got an XBOX 360 controller for windows and connected the USB straight into my PC, 'installing new hardware' quickly arrived and it installed no problem. I can see it in the game controllers on the control panel and it says it is working. However, i loaded up call of duty world at war (which supports the controller) but it just doesnt work........
