I bought a new hard drive and did a clean install of windows vista on it.
The installation went fine and everything is running fine, except I have to unplug my graphics card and use the standard VGA built in standard thing which obviously is no good.
I've downloaded several drivers. When I try install them it gives an error relating to not having the correct hardware avaialble for the driver or something like that.
On my old XP setup I had a small X icon in the system tray which was the xpertvision menu/program - which allowed me to change stuff like the fan speed, resolution etc.
This isn't installed obviously, and seen as when I bought this graphics card last year the only drivers on the disk were for XP/2000.
I can only run vista using the graphics card when I start windows in safe mode - when I run it in normal mode I just get a blank black screen after the loading screen.
i got a new computer and i wonder if the grafic card will work with game such as BAttlefield 2 and 2142? My grafic card is: NVIDIA eForce g100 512 mb, and when i bought it the salesman told me it would work on this games but im not sure if it will.
P.S. Not sure of the MoBo build. It was the original MoBo that came with the computer.
I originally did what I normally do when installing any graphics card; I uninstalled the on-board graphics card drivers and disabled it, then attempted to install the drivers for the new card. While running the installation, an error appeared telling me that it didn't detect any Nvidia compatible hardware in my setup. So I checked my device manager and sure enough, there was only the onboard card showing up in the list. So I tried restarting the computer to see if a reboot would cause it to appear. Nothing happened, so I ran CCleaner and Driver Sweeper to clear any registry and drivers issues that could be occuring. I rebooted, and still nothing appeared. So I went into the BIOS and tried to change some settings in there. I disabled the on-board through the options there, but that only caused the BIOS to give me issues and I couldn't even reach the splash screen, so I reset it and then tried changing the load settings from IGFX-GFXO-GPP-PCI to GFXO-GPP-IGFX-PCI, saved and then rebooted. I got past the splash screen on the new video card but the computer locked up before it would load the OS. So I know that both the card and the PCI-E slot on the MoBo are working fine. But I have run out of ideas as to what to try next to get this to work.
i dont know if this video card works on my computer :
xfx geforce 9800 gt 256-bit gddr3 newegg.com - xfx pvt98gydlh geforce 9800 gt 512mb 256-bit gddr3 pci express 2.0 x16 hdcp ready sli supported video card - desktop graphics / video cards Internet - xfx geforce 9800 gt video card
so i was wondering if someone could give me an answer. here are my system specs : ------------------------------------------------------------------- windows vista home basic service pack 1 manufacturer : emachines rating : 3.3 memory (ram): 2 gb 32-bit operating system processor : intel(r) pentium (r) 4 cpu 3.00 ghz, 2999 mhz, 1 core(s), 2 logical processors
I just built a new machine:I ran the experience index test, and I got 1.9 on the Aero performance index and 1.0 on the 3D Graphics Performance index. This is the report that I got from Vista:
Display adapter type NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 Total available graphics memory Not detected Dedicated graphics memory 0 MB Dedicated system memory 0 MB Shared system memory 0 MB Display adapter driver version 6.14.11.8122 Primary monitor resolution 1920x1080 Secondary monitor resolution 1680x1050 DirectX version DirectX 9.0 or better
This graphics card should be more than fine to run pretty much anything, especially Aero, but with this rating I don't seem to be able to enable it.
I am playing alot of games.. I play for example Counter Strike Source. I have 2 gb RAM - Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 cPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz 2.40GHz 64 bit Vista. With Nvidia Geforce 7950 GT. When I for example play source.. and exit it.. It comes like ALot of colors and things.. and cant do anything.. Have to restart the computer to get back.. Same with FIFA 08.. When I start Fifa 08 happens the same thing.. It comes Red/Black/White.. and cant get out or something.. have to restart.. so annoying.. Can only play like Source.. and then after I have to restart to get back to desktop.I cant do ''Alt option''.
after i over clock my card to a certain point the nvlddmkm stops working but after i put my card back down it starts to work again why is that?? Compaq Presario SR5123WM Desktop PC*-* Product Specifications*
My graphics keeps shutting down the pc dosent freeze or crash the screen just keeps going black. This happens about 5mins in. I've got the new updated driver for it i've also sent back the card and got a replacement still have the same problem.
Has anybody had a similar problem with the newer geforce drivers where the framerate is fine for 10 seconds, then drops for a few seconds, speeds up again etc etc. you get the picture?
The drivers work fine in XP 32, but when trying different drivers on Vista x64 company of heroes is unpleasant to play.
Been looking at this card, just want to know a few things. It says PNY, is that like a sub-category of Nvidia? I dont understand it! Also will I need to plug in a power cable or will this card get the power from the PCI-E slot itself.
Toshiba Satellite X205-SLi4. Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit SP2. In Computer Management > Display adapters , I have NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT listed twice.
I just bought a new computer and assembled it myself. I got everything to work exept i can't change resolution and is stuck on 800x600. I downloaded all the graphics drivers and everything but still it won't change. my setup is:.....
Because I understand very little of the nuances of Graphic Cards, I can't for the life of me figure out which type [SE/LE/GS/GT] of the GeForce Go 7300 Series, I actually have installed in my system. I'm thinking that because the card was installed OEM, the individual identification types, do not actually apply to my system setup. The information tags that I have on the Laptop give the following details;.....
Vista 64 ultimate with dual NVidia 8400 GS, on 4 monitors, running non-SLI mode crashed when ever opening a PDF file.
Although the check from newer drivers indicated that the system already had the latest, I installed the latest drivers from NVidia website anyway. The driver installation package ran through without error, and requested a reboot. Curiously, Vista complained that the installation may not have been completed correctly. Ignoring the Vista warning message (what was I to do anyway?), I rebooted. After reboot I was able to open PDF file.
When I originally configured the system, I had attempted to operate my video in SLI mode. I could not get SLI to work with two cards/4 monitors. Ultimately, I configured in non-SLI mode. I now wonder, if trying out different configurations placed the video cards in an unstable configuration - which was cleared up when I reinstalled the drivers.
What is the average temprature?? the reason for asking i was thinking of over clocking it a bit with Rivatuner but i dont have much fans only the PSU one case fan holes thats in the case alot a CPU Fan and of course the fan thats on the card right now according to speed fan it always runs at 43c-45c most of the time idk how to check whiles playing games but yeah

When i start my computer my graphics card starts out like hot but not really hot when i start playing games is it because my fan has a lot of dirt in it and its heating up my computer or do i need a water cooler that bad?
installed this yesterday in cpu and vista x64 home premieum didnt detect it.. the odd thing was i put install cd in and it gave me this error message no xfx product found go online for the latest driver.. that didnt work i downloaded the latest driver for vista x64 and when it oipened it said it wouldnt run because that card wasn't found...i checked my device manager and it showed no display adapter like before when my radeon graphics card was in.. i had my monitor plugged in to it i had a pic albeit not crystal clear but yet windows didnt detect it.. i also went into the bios to make sure that pci express was checked.. i know it was installed properly wondering what the deal is... would really like to get a better graphics card in with cuda aceleration...
I am going to get a new PC and I'm undecided whether to be be happy with the 8400 that comes with or pay an extra £100 (£200) for 2 x 8500 ones. Obviously, the graphics would look nicer but would anything else be affected like how fast the loading time of the games are and do you get more frames per second?
I just now decided to join but I've been looking around the forums for a while now as a guest. Recently I was referred to the website laptopvideo2go.com by these forums. I went there and because I had the old factory installed version 98.15 driver for my NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150, I decided to download one of the newer ones. By the way, I have a HP Pavillion dv6000 laptop. The driver that I chose was 7.15.0011.7770. It installed correctly and everything worked fine except for the fact that whenever I logged on, the screen would flash black and the graphics would become distorted and blurry and my desktop icons would look really magnified. But then, a few seconds later, the black screen would flash again and the graphics would go back to normal and everything would Today, however, the graphics did not revert back to normal. Everything stayed really big and fuzzy. I thought that since the driver that I downloaded from laptopvideo2go.com was not digitally signed, or whatever, that it was the problem. So, I went to the HP website and proceeded to download the original NVIDA update (98.15), that I had previously, for my driver.
It installed like normal until it got halfway in the installation loading bar. Then, my computer suddenly restarted itself and said that Windows did not start correctly and gave me the option to run some repair thing. I did, and it couldn't fix anything. So, I restarted again and got the same thing and went into safe mode and uninstalled my driver. Then, I updated the driver with the same 98.15 update and it worked and told me that I needed to restart. So I did and I got the "Windows did not start correctly" message again and I went into safe mode. The driver had not installed and everything was still big and fuzzy. However, the driver was still deleted. So, I restarted again, got the same message, and went into "Last known good configuration" mode, which I am in now. And, of course, the display is still really big and fuzzy. if you select the start normally option instead of the repair option, it will proceed to load with the Windows loading bar but will do that automatic restart thing before it gets to the Windows Vista logo every time. So, it's like a never-ending loop of restarts. I did some research online and I found out nothing, so I guess that my problem is unique. I'd really like to have my computer's original crystal-clear graphics back, but right now the priority is actually getting it to log on.
so i have a pretty outdated system and i am thinking about upgrading it over the holidays. i am adding 2 gb ram and am looking for a pci (not express)card tht can run aero for around 50$. i am upgradeing from my wimpy little ati raedon 9250. would this card be capable of running aero? With the research ive done on numerous websites i think this card should be able to get the job done. but im just making sure that anyone doesn't know anthing different. also if there are any other better deals out there let me know.
I have Vista Ultimate with AM2 Socket, AMD 4400+ dual core processor. I recently upgraded my graphics card from NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS to NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT XXX, and now when I try to watch live TV or record TV or watch shows recorded before the upgrade I get this error: "Video error; Files needed to display video are not installed or not working correctly. Please restart Windows Media Center or restart the computer." I have installed newest drivers for graphics card and tv tuners. Don't know what else to try.
Today my screen saver locked up and I had to shut down via the on/off button. On reboot the screen was covered in rows of " l "s and then a blue screen that was only on for a moment but said something about "graphics driver and timeout". I can get into Safe Mode. The drivers are up to date. Now I don't know what to do next.
I get an unknown device warning in my device manager. It is for my graphics card. I click reinstall driver. It finds the driver but says it encounters a problem when installing. Its says: Nvidia GeForce 9200M GS access denied. I downloaded new drivers from Nvidia, installed them, restarted, no good. Tried uninstalling the device, restarting, installing driver = no good.
I am experiencing a Catch 22 problem with the NVidia GeForce Go 7300 Drive that was pre-installed as part of my system. I have experienced a number of problems with this unit, all reported to Microsoft Windows for solution. Their response; Attachment 7159
I have been through all the recommended troubleshooting steps, without success. NVidia don't want to know because Acer installed it, Acer just don't want to know, and Windows just keep passing the buck. The Device Manager washes its hands on the issue with; Attachment 7160
So on one hand I'm being advised that I have a problem, and that it has been reported [MS Windows], then the answer is given that there is no solution [MS Windows] but if you'd like to check it out, here are four options [each in turn involving NVidia, Acer and MS Windows]..And oh! By the way, you won't find your solution here, either....because nobody in the list will accept any responsibility to help in any way to resolve the problem......Ya!Ya!Ya!....."Catch 22". I think that this Version is Force Ware Vista 97.55, as it shows up in my System Information as 'system32drivers vlddmkm.sys(7.15.10.9755, 4.24MB - 18/01/07.
My system is "Windows Vist Home Premium AMD turion 64 X2, 960 MB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150"... My computer health check always says I need to download the current thing of NVIDIA, which it gives me the link for and says it is an essential download, but then it will not download it, and it will not go away and remains a "critical" pc update needed... which drives me crazy.
My HP Update also scans my computer and recognizes that I need NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 Grapics Driver, but then it will go through downloading the installation package, and then when the setup initiates it says that I do not have the operating system windows vista.
1 Do i have this NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 Graphics Driver as my welcome center in my control panel states, or don't I?
2 if I don't have it, how do I get it
3 if I do have it, how do I make it stop coming up in my PC Health Check as a critical thing, and stop coming up on my HP Update???
I added a second monitor to the GeForce 7100 GS using a DVI-VGA adapter and for the life of me cannot get it to display anything, the monitor is just in sleep mode. I've got the latest driver, Windows is up to date, checked the cables, tried another adapter, tried everything but, still nothing. The second monitor shows up in the device manager and in the Nvidia control panel. It's enabled and set to extend desktops. It seems the system knows it's there because I can move the mouse over, but cannot see anything. The power light on the second monitor just flashes. I've swapped monitors over, to make sure there's not a problem with the display and it's fine. When I do that, the main monitor is then plugged in to the DVI adapter and then that one goes to sleep. Just seems whichever monitor is plugged in to the DVI-VGA adapter just doesn't want to work........
i just joined this forum in hopes of finding an answer to my problem, i have also searched the posts relating to my problem. A few days ago my pc was dropped of a stand with the monitor and everything connected. The onboard gfx does not work anymore (nVIDIA 6100 Geforce 405) and the plug is loose so i installed a nVIDIA 6200 Geforce PCI card, everything is fine till i go to run a high graphics game like WoW or SecondLife.
They work for a few seconds then the screen gets all messed up then goes off and back on, then a Hazard Sign in the System Tray pops up that says "Display Driver has stopped responding and has Recovered". Now i know enough to solve certain issues but this has me stumped, i've updated my drivers, even lowered the resolution to try to get the game to work but it does the same thing, now ive had this card in before a few months back, worked fine, then i took it out and went back to the onboard gfx. now the PCI card is giving me issues.
