I downloaded a dll (Ssubtmr6.dll), placed the file in the C:WindowsSystem32 folder and then using the Run dialog, entered the command Regsvr32 "C:WindowsSystem32Ssubtmr6.dll" to register it. I get an error message stating the module failed to load and including the text "Module could not be found". I had no problem installing this on an XP machine. I'm running Vista Home Premium (64 bit) with Service Pack 1.

I've been looking around forums for months now, trying to get rid of the Windows Update error code 80070424. I've read countless messages talking about solutions and tried them all. UNTIL I noticed today that the Windows Module Installer isn't listed in my services! I remember that annoying TrustedInstaller.exe running on my comp since I installed Vista, but it's gone, didn't noticed till today.
I'm not really a windows novice, but I just don't get it... how can it be just gone like that? I repeat, it is not diabled or wahtsoever, IT IS MISSING FROM THE SERVICE LIST. is there a way to reinstall the Windows Module Insdtaller, aka TrustedInstaller.exe? Because im pretty sure it's messing with my updates
I am about to purchase a Dell M1330, which doesnt offer a TPM module. I also don't want to deal with plugging in a USB Flash drive every time I boot up (which could get stolen with a laptop). I have the following questions regarding Bitlocker
1 Can I still use the Bitlocker feature of Windows Vista with a TPM module or USB flash drive? 2 Are there any articles that document how secure Bitlocker is in keeping your data safe if your laptop is stolen? 3 If for some reason that operating system gets corrupt, is there a way to extract my data off of the hard drive if I have the encryption keys?
I have almost completed a transfer of everything from my old XP computer to my new Vista (Dell p6110-Vista64-640HDD-Intel dual core). I am certainly not a power user but when Easy Transfer did not work I was able to move most of my old files to the Vista computer by hand.
I had to copy and paste most of the data, but I realized that I could not transfer programs (expecially Office; Word, Excel etc.). So I did an clean install of Office Student 2007 in the new computer. The install was completed with no errors, but I am getting an error message in Word and cannot always save the files. I am using the old XP files and starting new files. This seems to only happen in Word.
I get the following error message: "Compile error in hidden module AZWizard Modul"
I have tried to reinstall Office but nothing changed.
Something seems to be amiss in my Vista install and I am having problem install some things. Whilst working through some KB articles I was instructed to "Regsvr32 wbemupgd.dll". The result is a red X and the following message: The module "wbemupgd.dll" failed to load. Make sure the binary is stored at the specified path or debug to check for problems with the binary. So I searched my hard drive and it seems that "wbemupgd.dll" has gone missing. Any idea where I could get this .dll and why it might have gone missing?

The Install Wizard comes up and I try to cancel and it freezes up. "The Feature you are trying to use is on a network source that is unavailable." I click cancel and it freeze up. Or click to enter an alternate path to the folder containing the installation package opening secure module.msi. Again, freezes up. As I was turning off my computer, even though I could not close out the Sonic Stage trying to install itself, I got the message, "Windows Installer service is not correctly installed." Should I just delete SonicStage?

I've installed a few games and both games are giving 2 errors saying that "This application has failed to start because WINMM.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem". This pops up twice, and then the game starts and seems to work without any issues.

After some searching around the web it was suggested that I update DirectX. However, it appears that I am running the most recent version, DirectX 10. I am reluctant to update something that appears to be up to date.
It is true that d3dx9_40.dll is missing, but some of the suggestions I found on the web indicate that I should not merely download this dll. I never have to restart the router when my XP computers are restarted. I am connected to the router by network cable rather than wireless. Of course when I restart my router then the VISTA computer eventually finds the INTERNET. I would rather not restart my router every time the VISTA computer is rebooted.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI will go along for months and windows e-mail works fine. Then one day I can't get into e-mail at all and a box pops up telling me it is use by another program. Before I can do anything else another box pops up sayin that e-mail can't be started because MSOE.DLL cannot be found. If I restart windows all is well again until the next time these boxes show up. Where is the tab/command to initialize (fdisk?) a new HDD?
I am logged in as Administrator (system says so) with full control/permission.
I can see the hard drives in the Device Manager/Disk Drives. All drives are "good" per the controller and I can see them as physical devices on the computer.
They all show as "Not Initialized" when I ask each to opopulate the Volumes info, and there is no obvious/apparent way to do it. Nothing on the controller shows it either.
Tried "Simple New Volume" under Disk Management--
doesn't/won't work because drive is not initialized.
One drive = one big partition = one drive letter.
It called "Trojan Horse Downloader Agent2 APF". Path to file:

Of course I sent it to the Virus Vault. And I wondered why Real Player was just launching itself randomly.
My question is I cannot find the setup6.exe file. I guess it went to the vault? I am wondering if I should uninstall and re-install RealPlayer again?

Hi, new here. I have a sony vaio laptop that has been working perfectly up until a few days ago. I got a blue screen that said unmountable boot volume. I have a vista restore/repair disk but no sony restore disks.I'm not really sure if mine came with any? I used the vista disk and when i try to repair it it says no hard disk found as the error. Is there a way to get my computer to see the hard disk? I've tried using
the command prompt but a lot of things i've tried like chkdsk aren't working or i'm not sure what they mean.
