MP 610 Printer Not Working

Feb 6, 2009

I'll be helping a neighbor set up a new Dell with Vista Home Premium. She bought a Canon all-in-one MP610 printer with lots of application software on the CD MP Navigator, Easy-PhotoPrint, ScanSoft OmniPage SE, Easy-WebPrint, and ArcSoft PhotoStudio. I know i need to install the OCR software, but wonder about the rest. Do I need the MP Navigator for this printer to work? Will the Navigator or PhotoPrint software hijack any settings? Also, when I checked online, I found a new driver for Easy-PhotoPrint that's dated 10/08. If I install that driver after a full CD install for the printer, do I need to uninstall the older PhotoPrint utility first? I found general applications info on Canon's site. If there is a better source that can help me decide whether these utilities are needed.

Printer Can't Working

May 20, 2008

My printer is a Lexmark - (x-8350) All in One ---- Driver compatible with Vista is installed. The print is so small I need a magnifying glass to read it. I have attempted what adjustments I could make and nothing happens. I have contacted Lexmark and the help they provided me was minimal. I have never had this problem before and all of it sudden it pops up. I have new cartridges installed, however, not only is the print tiny, but the print is extremely light. I just kind of hate to have to go out and get a new printer without knowing if something can be to done to solve this problem.

Install HP Printer Psc 950 Can Not Working

I need to get Vista install my HP printer/scanner PSC 950. It recognize the printer and try to install drivers for it, but does not find any drivers. It asks me to input my CD for the printer, and I have tried that with no luck. On HPs website the say that my printer is built in to Vista and that Vista should install it with no problem. This is not true since I cant make Vista install it.I have tried to unplug/plug the USB cabel for the printer, and Vista does the same thing every time, trying to install the driver for it with no success. I have Windows Vista Home Premium on a HP Pavilion dv6000.

Printer Can Not Working Properly

Feb 17, 2010

Here is a new one for you all. Up until 2 days ago I was running a Epson CX9400Fax all-in-one with Vista Home Premium on a Dimension E520. I had a paper jam and after clearing it the system seemed to be out of sync with the takeup roll. The paper, on a simple print job, would would roll halfway through and then show a paper jam. I assumed the jam had thrown the timing out. Since it's cheaper to buy a new printer than attempt to have it repaired. I had a new Epson NX415 delivered this morning, set it up and lo and behold it's doing the same thing as the printer I replaced. This shouldn't be a problem with the two different printers. On the other hand, is there anything in the O/S that could be causing this? I'm picking up a replacement printer tomorrow and if the issue still persists, it can only be something in the O/S. Have any problems cropped up after the last updates? I'll keep you posted after I try out another printer.

Shared Printer Can't Working

Feb 8, 2009

I have a home network set up with one computer serving as the Server for the house, it is running Vista Ultimate x64. All the printers are connected to that computer and are shared. The server also contains all of our movies and music for the house. I have several computers connected to it ranging from Vista Home Premium x86 to Vista Ultimate x64. Now for some reason I am only able to print to the printer when I am logged in on an account with the exact name and password as the one that I made on the server. Any other account I just get an error in the printer queue. So I figured I just needed to set up everyone with a user name and password on the server. I did that and the same thing is happening. I've checked the security tab on the printer and set Everyone to have full control over the printer. Printer sharing is enabled on the server and I'm adding the printer to the other computers via local port "\SERVERColour Laser". So I have no idea what else it could be. I'm also installing both x86 and x64 drivers on the server and the proper ones on the client computers.

So to recap. I have:
Server - Windows Vista Ultimate x64
Printer 1 - HP Laser CP1215
Printer 2 - HP Deskjet 5550
Computer 1 - Windows Vista Ultimate x64
Computer 2 - Windows Vista Ultimate x86
Computer 3 - Windows Vista Home Premium x86
Computer 4 - Windows Vista Home Premium x86

Each computer has one common user name and password, "Tyler", I can successfully print from any computer while on that account. However I am unsuccessful in printing from any other account. I am about to lose some hair over this.

Printer Can't Working Properly

I added a network printer to my new Vista Home Premium laptop and printed to it without a problem. Then I shut down the laptop. When I start it up again, it lists the network printer as being offline and won't print to it. If I delete it and then add it again, it works great until the next time I shut the laptop down and start again. How do I keep the printer from being offline to my laptop? I do not have this problem from my other Vista Home Premium desktop PC on the same network. Both print tro the printer via a wifi connection.

Add Printer Not Working - Home Premium

Apr 7, 2008

I have an Epson Stylus c84 Inkjet that, according to the Epson support page, should already have drivers in Vista (I should just be able to plug in the printer, Vista will see it and load the appropriate driver, etc). However, Vista cannot find the correct driver and asks for the original driver CD, to which I try anyway and it still does not work. I contacted Epson who suggested I try and use the Add Printer feature. However, upon trying this, an error came up as soon as I pressed the icon: "Windows Cannot Open Add Printer. Operation could not be completed (error 0x000000c1)." I did not receive the original install disc from eMachines, and they have been aggravating when attempting to get service from them.

Wireless Printer Stops Working

Mar 16, 2009

I am running Vista Home Premium on my laptop. I have a Brother wifi printer (although it connects to the router with a wire). I have 2 desktops and my laptop that use the printer. The two desktops use the printer without a problem. My laptop only works during the period after I add the network printer. When I reboot, it will seem to print to the printer but it just gets stored in the printer queue and won't print it.

Telling the print queue to try again doesn't do anything. If I delete the printer from my laptop and add it again as a new printer, it works great until the next reboot. I have no other printers in my printer list, only the Brother. None of the desktops (one Vista Home Premium, one XP) have this problem.

Can Not Working HP 6830 Deskjet Printer

I read somewhere that some printers need drivers to run on vista, so I went to the HP website and found their universal driver (or whatever it's called), and I looked, and it doesn't support my printer. is the printer just too old to use on my computer, or is it not compatible or something?

Reinstalled Vista Can Not Working Printer

Feb 6, 2009

I don't even have a Vista Computer, but one is arriving in a few days - Vista Ultimate My old XP computer drives two four year old printers - one HP all-in -one LaserJet and one Epson inkjet. When I installed these printers on the XP machine, each came with a CD with the installation software (drivers, manual PDF, etc..).I assume I now must get updated CD's or some other arrangement to get the printers re-installed. Here are several questions

1. Do the vendors usually either wash their hands and tell you to get a new printer?
2. How do I get the appropriate software? Printer vendor web-sites?
3. Generally, do pre-Vista peripherals, and particularl printer/scanner/fax machines install without problems?

Wireless Connection To Printer Won't Working

Mar 23, 2008

i've spent the whole day trying to set up a wireless connection between a laptop running vista and a printer connected to a print server on a wireless router....The printer is connected to the USB port on the wireless router (and the wireless connection to the printer works fine with my old xp laptop :rolleyes. The printer worked fine when plugged directly into the usb port on the vista laptop. So I set up a TCP/IP local port with the router's IP address (network print server, 1 printer) and assigned the printer to that port. It worked! - once. It printed a short document from notepad but sometime in the next few hours its status went to 'offline' and it has since refused to print anything else. Print jobs appear to spool to the printer, come up in the print monitor window, etc, but it doesn't print - neither tiny things from notepad nor multipage word docs.

SO far I have tried: rebooting everything lots of times; setting the printer to 'use printer online' in the admin prefs; disabling bidirectional support; disabling spooling (i.e. printing direct to printer - this just makes MS Word hang); making a persistent mapping of LPT1 to the printer w net use (a bit out of my depth there so hope I haven't stuffed anything up, i just got a bunch of system error 66's).

Connect Local Printer With USB Cable Can't Working

When I go to print, file appears in print queue until it finally errors. When I look in Device Manager->Universal Serial Bus Controllers->USB Root Hub properties->Power tab, the description shows "Unknown USB Device". Not sure if this is what the problem is. If it is, why would the USB Device be unknown? Also in Device Manager->Other devices, I see the HL-2140 printer with a yellow key hole. Printer manual says using drivers and so on for HL-2140 is fine for the HL-2142. When I try to add the printer manually, I can't work out which is the USB port. Doesn't seem to be one. I've attached document with screen shot of existing ports to choose from....

Network Printer Hosted Server Default Printer

Jun 17, 2008

I cannot set the default printer in Vista Business with SP1. I am connected to a domain trying to set a network printer hosted from a server as the default printer. I have seen a dozen or more questions similiar to this in this group as well as on other forums and found no answer. I see a MS-MVP come on and tell people to remove local printers such as the XPS and adobe printers. This is a ridiculous solution. Sure it may allow you to connect to a network printer but you have removed printers that you are going to need to use again. Unacceptable.

So far the only other solution that does not include deleting all the local printers off of the machine is to make sure you have write permissions to the default printer registry key. I have checked this and I do have write permissions(Full Control). SO WHAT NEXT? IS MICROSOFT EVER GOING TO COME OUT WITH ANOTHER FIX FOR THIS?
