Two weeks ago I was having problems with my laptop and asked a friend to look into it. He reinstalled Windows Vista, but somehow left me without most of my drivers. So far, I've been able to reinstall most of them, but I'm still having trouble with my graph card.
I have a HP dv6500, with an Nvidia GeForce 7300. I've tried to get the driver from Nvidia, but it says that I have no hardware which can use this driver. When going to my Hardware Manager, it calls my graph card a Standard VGA card. This totally keeps me from installing games, video editing software or even watching videos: I always get the message that my graph card cannot accelerate.
Right now I currently have a problem where my monitor is flashing black for a few seconds and then returns the image. During this time i am still able to hear and the system is not freezing up. I have installed all the new drivers for everything and tried uninstalling them too and reinstalling them all to no avail. This problem has evolved from where before it used to just freeze and then unfreeze and say that the driver has stopped working even though I had updated the driver. I am getting very frustrated at this dilemma.
why there is no defrag progress graph in vista (like the one there was in xp). The defrag just has a scheduler or defrag now and then there is no way of knowing how far along it is. Any thoughts would be welcome.
Used the Webcam 1 time and it worked. Turned it off and did not even wait one minute and turned it back on and it gives me Graph Render Fail. What does that mean and what should I do?
I have 2 LAN Cards on my pc...both the card is internet line but i use 1 for internet and another for lan (p2p)..i can use this configuration but not putting the default gateway in the card which i am using for lan. so, all the request is transferred to another card which i use for internet...but now, my ISP is changed. it uses PPPOE connection which i use for lan. i have to connect PPPOE dialup connection, for using my lan, but the internet is disconnected from other card.
this relates to my problem but when playing games (cod4) every 2 mins all the textures go weird like pink and black and all weird colours and it freezes when i press alt del and ctrl it fixes again so then i click cancel and continue playing. It happens all the time. My next problem is that cod4 just froze properly and nothing worked except cutting the power. When it restart bsod came up. this has happend twice so far once with cod4 and once with rome total war. the website above links greatly to my issues. when the pc came back on in safe mode i had a problem reports and sollution window come up and say:.....

I just recently formatted and reinstalled Vista because i changed my motherbored and Processor so i felt like a new start. After waiting for all the Windows updates to finish i turned on some music and my Sound was messed up, i have sound it just dosn't seem to work right. On some ill be able to hear everything but the singer and on others and hear only the singer. This also effects games, i turn on my scarface seeing it was closest game near me and installed it, on that i can't hear Scarfaces voice, or the cars around me but i can hear other people speak. Does anyone know whats wrong with my sound? I use the soundcard that is built onto my motherbored because i have never had need of a Sound card in the past. my new motherbored is an MSI motherbored and my processor is Intel core 2 duo.
what graphics card works well with AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4800+? Basically I want to run MS Flight Sim X.....I believe I only have a PCI slot and am looking in the $75-150 range.....
I have this GFX (Club 3D Geforce 9500gt 1024mb) PC Lager ApS - Salg af Club 3D GeForce PCI-E 9500GT 1024MB DVI/VGA til en god pris - Club 3D modelnummer: CGNX-G9524Y (Grafikkort, Club 3D). But when I play Frontlines Fuel Of War it only run smooth on the almost lowest settings. So I thought about buying this instead (Club 3D Radeon HD 4850 Extreme OC 512mb) PC Lager ApS - Salg af Club 3D Radeon PCI-E HD4850 Extreme OC 512MB til en god pris - Club 3D modelnummer: CGAX-4852DDO (Grafikkort, Club 3D). So I wanted to hear if that would make a difference that was the money worth, or would it be stupid.
i have a old card lying about and cant get it to work, just wondering if you can help, all i can get off the card is Gigabyte GV-NX73S256T-RH, I have googled it and only got strange chinese results or something, i think i need the drivers for it to install hardware, and/or change bios settings,

I've been having a problem with my laptop for the longest time now and its starting to really get me frustrated. when i run full screen applications like my Zune player, VLC player, my games (which gets me sad cause i want to play my pc games) and other apps like those. my screen goes black with colored lines going down the screen and my laptop locks up and i have to shut it down. i took it to best buy where i bought it and they didnt fix it. and after looking through the web i found out that i might have a bad video card but i dont know what to do about it.
the problem is with card reader. System VISTA HOME PTEMIUM 32 bit. I fight with this problem few weeks. Manufacture is Texas oinstruments - PCI XX12. I foun some information at webside, make installation of different drivers version: 2.00.6, 2.00.7, 2.00.9, 2.0018. but it still dosn't solve my problem. I can't read any SD - cards. There is information: please format the card. I made also changes at regedit: from 16 to 1 but still the same problem. Maybe it's IRQ problem?
I can hear some videos and others I can not. I can hear parts of videos and other parts I can not. For instance. On boston .com I wanted to hear video of red sox spring training. I can hear the players swinging and hittings balls but, I can not hear the commentator in the same video. Are you kidding me.Im not a happy camper.
I have Vista Ultimate 64bit, with Realtek onboard sound on my mother board. However, my Quadraphonic speakers don't seem to be working as I can only get sound to come out of my front two speakers when in WMP etc. when I go into control panel, I can get sound coming out of all 4 speakers, that silly test sound.
I have purchased an XFX8800 GT graphics card... but when i insert the disk for the same it says "no XFX product was found" whats the reason for that..???? So i have installed the drivers by exploring the disk.... But anybody tell be why it is not detecting the card as an XFX product....
I loaded 5308. I had some difficulty with my dual PCI E video cards on installation. I had to take one out to make it load.I had no internet yet my properties showed that the LAN drivers were installed. My mouse was very.... jumpy and "laggy".I put XP back. I didn't have the patience to fu*k with it.I can't be sure that my "key" was good for the build. I just have an ISO. I can't see how that would jeopardize the load of the OS.
I had my pc down for a day or 2 so i could move it to another room. When i stick my memory card in, the pc does nothing. But before it would. It had no problem recongizing it. I have 3 different cards and tried all 3 of them. Ive gone into device manager and its not in there, but says the device is working properly.I used my usb sd reader and that works fine. I was able to open all 3 cards and do whatever. y this would all of a sudden do this to me after working perfectly fine before.
i got halo 2 for christmas and it said i needed vista. so i got vista and after i installed it i went on that thing that rates your PC's performance and it gave me a 1.0 this makes no sense because my computer is awesome. i have an extremely fast processor, plenty of RAM, and the second best video card available. and when it gave me a 1.0, it said that the cause of this was because my video card wasn't good. when i checked on "can you run it?" it said that i didn't have the video card that i had put in not long ago. so i am asking this: how come after i installed vista it said my video card was reverted back to my old one that came with my computer?
This is a Vista issue because the unit works fine on an XP machine. Vista seem to recognize it and install the drivers when it's plugged in, including the message that the device has installed successfully. The only thing I can think of is that the drivers are bad. I've remove the device from device manager and nothing seems to help
I've encountered a problem in recent days concerning either my graphics card or monitor, which one? Im not sure. It all started a yesterday while playing a game of Counter Strike : Source , I had alt-tabbed ingame and decided to alt-tab back into the game and as i proceeded to do this my computer locked up ... couldn't move mouse or anything. So I proceeded to restart my computer. This is where everything went wrong. My monitor was not showing any image, only a black screen with the Analog/Digital box flashing. So I tried a few things to see what would resolve this problem ... Removed all cords, plugged them in agian ect. Unplugged graphics card then plugged back in agian. Restarted PC numerous times. Reinstalling drivers I'm using a DVI to VGA cable connecting my graphics card to my monitor,
I've also tried plugging another monitor into my graphics card, with no result.Onboard graphics work fine. I don't have another graphics card to test it on ... In my computers devices it says the video driver is not installed correctly or something along those lines? Does anybody have a step by step guide on installing drivers?.....
when I play a game and listen to music at the same time, this led me to belive that there was something wrong with the onboard soundcard that i have (RealTek) but after updating that, every possible driver that i can think of (Sounds, Graphics, WLan, CPU, you name it) I am still getting the issue......................
I have fixed a few problems with my computers based on the information here. This is my first post. Last night, while playing Sims 2: Apartment Life, my moniter flickered a black screen twice and then froze. Almost immediately after I got a blue screen of death, however the computer shut off faster than I could read. So, this morning I turn on my computer and nothing. I got the white text and the nice big 'e' for emachines with the Boot and Bios keys listed. Then the monitor went to standby. I turned it off and then back on and tried to get boot settings so I could start up in easy mode - thinking something happened to my drivers, but same thing happened, monitor went on standby.
So, I turned the computer off, opened it up and took a look inside. A little dusty, but everything was plugged in right and I made sure the video card was secure. I took the plug out of the video card and put it in the default on board thingy. Started it up, same thing. So, now I'm thinking, '****, my card died'. 'Cept when I turn the machine on the fan starts up. So, I'm confused. I take the card out and start up the computer and BAM, it works. So, I'm still thinking its a dead card. Well, I try a few things, like uninstalling the old video card drivers, restarting and plugging the card in during restart. WIth the moniter still plugged into default and working correctly, I check Device Manager and what do you know?! It lists my card and starts trying to install the drivers. So I go ahead and reinstall the drivers. Says I need to restart, so I do. Sure enough, the monitor just goes to standby like before. Doesn't matter what I plug it into. So I take out the card, plug it into default, and go into my BIOS. I make sure it's reading my video card from the PCI-e slot and such, which it says it is. So, now I'm just confused......
I have a Gateway m 6309 laptop with a SD/MMC/MS/xD slot. I try to insert my SD card from my digital camera, but it won't go in. At all. It also looks as if there is something inside the slot, blocking it. It's been that way ever since I got the computer, but I've never really found anywhere to ask this question before.
My Dell 8400 had XP. We upgraded to Vista a month ago. No problems with the wireless network card. (Netgear WG311 v.3)
HOWEVER - we decided to purchase more RAM for the pc. We called Dell to purchase the RAM so it would be compatible. We had two 512MB cards in dual slots. We ordered two 1GB cards to place in the remaining dual slots. That gives us 3GB of RAM. Vista maxes out at 4MB according to what was sent to me by NetGear.
The problem is that if we use all four slots, the network card stops working. If we use two 1GB cards in dual slots, the network card works fine. If we use all four slots, the network card stops working. We changed the cards around so the 1GB cards were in one set and the 512MB cards in another set. We had them paired each time, so that was not the problem.
We ordered two more 1GB cards with the thought that because the four we had were not quadruplets, that might be the problem. It isn't. Dell took back the extra RAM.
Dell support blames the problem on NetGear. NetGear blames the problem on Vista. The technician at NetGear sent me a kb of Vista limits for RAM. When I replied that we hadn't maxed out on RAM, I got an email that the email I sent in reply couldn't be delivered.
I'm running legit copies of Halo 2 and Assassin's Creed, and they tend to crash my display driver/video card at any random old time. Usually around 5 minutes in. Less for AC. I know it's the display driver or video card or whatever because the game freezes with red squiggly lines all over the place, then the monitor says no input detected. The computer, however, is still running. I have Vista Ultimate 32bit, and an EVGA 8800GT. I can post more info if necessary. All my drivers are up to date and I disabled my onboard graphics in my bios so that only PCIE is outputting.
PC-illiterate older user I need gentle idiot-speak help: We've doubtless a fairly small 2-year old system and recently upgraded from XP to VistaHP. (1.5 RAM, 80Gb Hard, Pentium4 641 3.2GHz, ATI Radeon Xpress 200 128Mb). Vista runs - obviously without Aero - but with lots of problems.
1. Variable total freezing (is it the graphics card ?). 2. There can be two different screen resolutions (one perfect fit and very clear, the other screen is sized-down and poor resolution). Seems to bear no relation to how PC was previously shut down. There are other problems perhaps for a later post but would like to get these sorted if possible. I've downloaded all current drivers and other downloads (less two doownloads that 'refuse') but the problems persist. We're not gamers - we just want good screen clarity and no freezing.
I really getting tired of Creativelabs. I'm currently using a X-Fi XtremeMusic card which is not fully working under Vista64. I refuse to buy a X-Fi2 just to use features that should be enabled in the X-Fi card I already own. Vista has been out long enough for Creativelabs to get their act togther. In a nut shell I'm done with Creativelabs! I've always bought their products but that officially ends now.
I'm looking at HT Omega's cards. I'm a cusual gamer mainly playing EverQuest 2. How does HT Omega's card do for games like EQ2 and is the quality of drivers better than Creativelabs? I'm just trying to get some user infor before I spend $$$$$ on a new sound card.
