BITS Problem

Jun 5, 2009

I have a problem with BITS that is preventing Windows Update from working
correctly, simply put the service does not start.

I have found that in SFC /SCANNOW it tries to fix bitsigd.dll but for some
reasons it can not do it, I also tried to copy the file from a functioning
computer but it can not be copied on the trouble computer.

Virtual Pc Doesn't Allwo 64 Bits

Dec 23, 2007

I am running Vista Ultimate 64bit and I was wondering what virtualisation software is there that will run on this so I can install other OSes to get some applications to work that will not run on Vista. These applications are only some very old games I like all I really need installed is Windows 98SE and Windows XP but I may use it to try out other operating systems as well.

I know of Virtual PC but it doesn't allow 64bit guest operating systems which at the moment isn't a problem but I may want to install one in the future, I don't really like the interface of VMWare and I tried Parallels but it gave an error that it won't install on a 64bit operating system. I was just wondering what others are there that people know of?

Blue Screen At The Installation On Vista 64 Bits

Mar 2, 2009

When I boot my computer with Vista 64 , I always get a blue screen with the
following error message :

A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage
to your computer.

If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your
computer. If the screen appears again, follow these steps :

Check to be sure you have adequate disk space. If a driveris identified in
the Stop message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for
drivers updates. Try changing video adapters.

Check with your hardware vendor for any BIOS updated. Disable BIOS memory
options such as catching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to
remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select
Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.

Thecnical informations:
*** STOP: 0x0000007E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFFA600117F603,
0xFFFFFA6002D84ED8, 0xFFFFFA6002D848B0)
*** fltmgr.sys - Adress FFFFFA600117F603 base at FFFFFA600115C000.
DateStamp 47919082

Same thing with Windows 7. But, with Vista 32 bits DVD, no problem. I
suspect my DVD burner to be the problem, since it make the hell of a noise
at the startup with Vista 64 an Windows 7 DVD's.
Thank you.
