/Window DVD Maker Quits Working - Used To Work Fine

For some reason my Windows DVD Maker has ceased to work when it used to work perfectly. I am able to add files to burn but when I hit next and go to where I can change the settings before burning it says that "windows dvd player has stopped working and windows is checking to see if there is a solution to the problem" I then get a message box stating "a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
This program used to work just fine but stopped working and I do not get a notification of what the problem is or a code or something from Windows. I've recently updated to SP1 using Vista on an Acer 5570 laptop. I've tried changing the speed and placing the video on my desktop instead of pulling from folders but that makes no difference. I've changed file extensions, downloaded other programs to convert files to different types thinking that's what was wrong. Nothing has worked. I can view just fine using Windows Media Player so I'm not sure why I can no longer burn using this program......
I like to go back from time to time and see when I sent an email When I click on sent mail folder, windows mail goes off. Cannot look at sent mail, it quits working and reloads whats up?
Small home wireless LAN, Netgear WGR614v4 router, Using WPA, two XP machines, one Vista (home Basic ),
1) all working ok for many hours, except when 2) Vista machine goes to sleep mode. On wakeup, no connection. Network SSID is visible, good signal, but repeated attempts to connect fail. 3) Other computers connect to router, and internet fine. They can also standby/poweroff and restart fine. Still connected. 4) Reboot Vista computer, no help. Network settings look normal, just no connection to wireless router. Incredibly irritating Vista diagnostic tool suggests I connect to a another network, or recycle the router. (If the router was close enough to be easily recycled, I would just plug in an ethernet cable. But it is not, and I am tired of unnecessary trips to the basement.) 5) Power cycle router, and everything fine again.
Ive just had broadband connected to my house. Currently I have a network consisting of four computers connected through an internal switch on one of my computers in one of the bedrooms for ease of cabling. The computer with the broadband modem has been chosen as it is newest and is closest to the telephone line socket. It has two network cards, one connected to the modem and the other to the rest of the network. Independantly, the network connections are running fine (all computers can see each other and transfer data properly) and the internet connection is working well for the computer connected directly to the modem.
The network is setup using Static IP Addresses 192.168.0.1-192.168.0.4 (With 0.1 being for the host) and the modem is connected using a different set of IP addresses. I have also set the internet connection sharing options according to what is required on the microsoft website for both the internet host and clients. I have both Norton Antivirus and Zonealarm activated on all computers but have set them up to allow access to each other. My problem therefore is, despite my broadband connection working on the one computer, and my network connections working, I cannot get ICS to work.
HAWX: which is that the aircraft doesn't stop spinning, i am unable to control the plane. I use a PlayStation 2 USB joystick which has been configured and synced with the PC, so that the every button/joystick works. I am 100% sure that there is not a problem with the joystick, as i use it for other games such as Microsoft Flight Sim X and Test drive unlimited. The analogue sticks and buttons work fine.
i have tried both changing the control setting to keyboard but, once again the problem is still there, the plane doesn't stop spinning out of control...##Is it my controls? My general setting are on default so everything original...i have played around with the setting invert/normal... still the same result
im trying to make a video and then wen im finished, i try to publish it to my desktop and it crashes everytime and it comes up with this DEP thing and its not helping, can someone help me with this problem.
I have downloaded on my computer some movies that I would like to burn with WMM. The problem is the following...Some of the movies I have downloaded appear in a folder, inside the folder there is a AVI file. When I import it into WMM, the AVI Movie Logo turns into what looks like a 35mm negative. When I drag it into the video timeline, all is fine and I can burn my dvd. Other movies that I download, also appear with the AVI logo but not in a folder. When I import it into WMM, it remains as the AVI logo and does not turn into the 35mm negative. When I try to drag it into the video timeline, it will not permit me to do so but instead it will go into the Audio/Music timeline. When I do try to burn the dvd, all I get is sound and funky abstract colors on my dvd player. Yet when I open either AVI files with Windows Media Player...there is no problem viewing it from my computer. I am running Windows Vista and I am using DIVX. Can someone please help me as this is driving me crazy?
Can anyone recommend a discussion group or alternative source of information (good or bad) regarding Live Movie Maker. I ask the question because I have bought Windows 7 Home Premium (package unopened) need some information to help me decide whether to install it or sell it on.
If I hover the mouse over the networking icon in the system tray on Vista computers on my FiOS network, it sometimes says "Local Only." Networking and Sharing Center shows a red X between the router and the Internet. Restarting usually shows them as properly connected to the Internet. Eventually, though (usually about 30 minutes to hours later), it will lose that and revert to Local Only. Diangnose and Repair doesn't change anything. In fact, Windows usually reports back, "Windows did not find any problems with your Internet connection." Sometimes it says that TCP settings are incompatible. I let it change them, but the Local Only problem is still there and a subsequent Diagnose and Repair then always gives the same "Windows did not find any problems..." report.
Some of those machines are laptops. I never have this problem when I bring those laptops to other networks (office wired or Wi-Fi, airport Wi-Fi, etc.). This seems to be limited to my home FiOS network. Note that as far as I can tell from using the system, it does have Internet access. Web browsing, e-mail, GoToMyPC, VPN, all seem to work fine. My main concern is that this "Local Only" report is a symptom of something more serious. If it's just a known bug in the Vista system to determine if it has Internet access, I guess I could ignore it. Is this a universal problem with FiOS? I see a lot of people seem to have issues with the Actiontec router.
I am trying to import multiple projects into the Windows Movie Maker. I see in the help where I can import multiple clips, but that doesn't seem to work with multiple projects. I have these projects (3 of them) made at different times, that I want to import into the Movie Maker so I can do the editing. If I edit one, then try to import the second it REPLACES the 1st. I have tried dragging and dropping on the timeline, but again it just replaces whats there.
Is there a way to have all three projects import into the timeline at the same time? Now I can import the first, then open the 2nd and 3rd projects and drag and drop on thetimeline, but thats allot more work this way, And when it's all done, there will pro bably be 2-3 more projects. If the Movie Maker is not capable of this, can you recommend a commercial (or other) program that will import multiple projects?
I have a year of small home video clips all Avi. I imported them to windows movie maker and made a story board. I can watch the movie. When I hit publish to dvd it takes me to windows dvd movie maker. I hit burn. The latest video which works in a dvd player only did the first three frames then the whole dvd was black with no sound. I did a windows update today, still the same. I have also tried to publish the movie to my computer it always crashes. I do not have an option to save as and place it elsewhere its always a movie maker file prompt. I tried using nero but my videos are all over the place where as windows movie maker there all in sequence as I imported them there.
I am having an issue with Movie Maker. I put all my pictures and text frames together just fine. Downloaded my music from my CD's into the Music folder on my PC. When I went to the import audio and imported the song, everything looked normal, the song came up as an mp3 file. When I dragged it down into the timeline there was not any music in the music space. (there is not any tick marks if that makes sense.) So when I go to play the video, the song title is there, but no song is there. If I import one of the sample songs that came on my computer when I purchased it, (they are in a wma format, they work just fine) I am totally confused, because ALL the help files tell me that mp3 files are supported, but yet it won't play. I also have NO IDEA how to convert the mp3 to something else, to make it play. I am such a beginner at this, and plan to make many videos, so need to get this figured out right away.
when i ask it to defrag (Vista), it starts and never quits. little circle just keeps on rotating happily. left it going a couple of times for, say, 10 hours maybe. since it doesn't show percentages anymore (or I can't find them) not sure where we are getting hung up. I've done lots of video editing and having some problems lately in those programs so think I really need a good defragment...or I at least need to see if fragmentation might be the cause (if there is somewhere I can look to determine this please let me know...if not fragmented then problem is probably with video programs,

I have created a photoshow with Windows Movie Maker and burned movie/photoshop to a CD-R. THE CD will not PLAY ON MY TV USING A DVD PLAYER. Should I have burned the movie/photoshop to a DVD instead of a CD-R?
After I press publish my movie that has a mix of videos(all .wmv) and audio stops working and a screen shows up saying the following: Windows Movie Maker has stopped working....A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

I dont have windows vista dvd so i cannot reinstall from it. I had a back up but its completely useless. I have a oem key that was coming with the pc.windows update dont want to work anymore.

Curious thing is it sais i dont have any currently update installed in my pc anymore. Few days ago the list was full with updates and now I dont have any on the list. For make it worse now my system restore tells me that i dont have any system restore point so i cant restore to any point before i get all the errors and stuff.

Bought a Toshiba Satellite A100 from ebay with a cracked screen. I changed the screen yesterday, and the laptop worked well with no problems. Then today I decided to do a fresh installation of Vista because of all the previous owner had the hard drive in a bit of a mess. I installed using my normal Vista Anytime Upgrade disk and as soon as it finished installing I started getting all these messages like "Windows Modules installer has stopped working", "Desktop Window Manager has stopped working" and "TFncKy has stopped working". Things I've tried include reinstalling Vista from another disk. Using a different hard drive, changed the ram, installed all the proper drivers, installed vista updates (won't let me install SP1), staring at it menacingly & banging my head off the desk.
I have problem with booting vista. When I turn on my "lenovo 3000 n 100" all i can see is lenovo start screen that usually lasts for few seconds and then show goes on.but now.lenovo start screen is not moving.it seems like lptop stopped working.
I found way to turn on lptop by pressing "delete" bottun when lenovo start screen appears and choosing F1 to go to BIOS and "Exit discarding changes". Then lptop normally works.but i do nothing.just "exit discarding changes"
The problem comes from trying to install new applications i.e. firefox, winrar, and utorrent, are just a few that we have tried to install. The same error keeps occurring, it will automatically come to the error window stating that the program "has stopped working" and proceeds to search for a solution. So far I have run the program as an administrator, compatibility mode, and have tried searching the even id #1000 on the windows support forums. Also it is the same exception code every time occurring from application error 0xc0000005.
I'm noticing some inconsistencies in quoting behaviour when choosing Reply to Group with Windows Mail. I believe I've seen some references to this elsewhere, but can't find a resolution. For example, I will read a post, where the original poster used the Google web interface to create and post his message. When I choose Reply to Group, the original post is properly quoted and all is well.
By this I mean that the previous post will have a marker, the default being >, and more are added for each level of reply. The poster replies to my reply, again using the Google interface, with proper quoting appearing for the two previous messages. But now, I choose Reply to Group again - and the text I'm immediately replying to is not quoted. Yet I notice that others using Outlook Express can reply with the quoting intact, and I can reply to them with the quoting appearing properly. Restarting Windows Mail does not resolve this.
