Getting Very Fast Double Click / Unable To Make It Normal?

Actually my problem is hardware related, I'm looking for a software solution.My problem is my mouse is behaving badly, it does very fast double clicks when I just do one click. When I want to drag an item I must try many times, when I want to select text, I cannot do it that easily.Sometimes I open the mouse and clean it with a special liquid, it works fine for two days but then the problem is back again. I've also changed the button internally many times from older mouses, what I mean, I desold the bad button and sold a new one with tin.
Dell Dimension 2350 windows XP 28GB hard drive 14GB free space -- don't know how much RAM I've read other posts and thought I'd try MSCONFIG suggestions but how do I know which microsoft programs to disable under services there are tons of them (DNS, Server, Workstation to name a few) -- same for programs listed under start-up most of them have unindentifiable names like wkufind, igfxtray, hkcmd - are these spyware??
I'm working on a system that has Windows XP Home on it and when I try to install a spyware removal or anti-virus program that I have downloaded from the internet to the desktop or program files folder, it will not open up when I double-click on it or if I right-click and select OPEN. However, if I right-click the program icon and click on RUN AS, it brings up a gray window asking for a user name and password to gain access to the program. It says something about security that prevents unauthorized installation of viruses and the like.
Whenever i doubleclick on any of the Drives(C: , D: ) a windows search window appears, if i have to open i have to rightclick and select open...also i observed that when i right click on my c drive or d drive the first option i have is "search" in bold. and then the next option is open. whereas for anyother folder open is my first option when i right click and in bold!
When I open a folder (MyComputer, for example), and try to right-click or double-click an icon to open it- it does not work. When I right-click the icon, NOTHING happens. When I double-click the icon, the icon gets highlighted, but the program or other folder does not open. I checked in the folder options, and it is set up so that when you double-click an icon, it opens the program. But the weird thing about it is that if I try to double-click or right-click an icon on my desktop.. it works like it should. So this really just doesn't make sense.
Many times when I single click on an item with my mouse, whether it be a program, a shortcut, or whatever, more often than not , it acts as a double click. When I double cliclk, it opens up the program twice more often than mot, also. I have the Folder options set up to double click so I don't know what's going on. I regularly run AdAdware, Spybot, and I have ZoneAlarm Suite running all the time
I have two front USB ports, and when I insert the usb flash drive in this ports the notifyer tells me that there are more fast ports in the pc, Yes the two other ports in the back of the pc case are faster. Can I make the front ports fast too?
Hello everyone , i have read a lot of posts about slow pc in normal mode but i cant find any help. My PC Starts up very slow... WinRAR , Winamp .. starts also slow , for example i download a file which is rared. i press Open and then it stop responding for awhile
I'm running XP pro on a Dell Latitude 610. Whenever I double-click on an icon in My Computer, instead of opening the folder or drive, a Search Results window opens. If I right-click on an icon, Search... is bold and at the top of the menu list instead of Open. Can someone please tell me how to restore Open as the default double-click action?
when I double click nothing comes up even tho I've done searches previously. I think it might be something to do with Cookies but I don't know enough about them to solve the problem. My OS is Windows XP.
Operating system is XP cannot open c drive with a double click. The error message reads - Can not find script file "C:TTMS824.dll.vbs" However can open it with right click and explore Have tried to restore earlier dated restore points but the computer will not restore any of them. Have tried xp_folder_open.vbs by wwwdougknox.com but it did not help.
I have this so called virus/worm "VBS/Solow-B" or FS6519.dll.vbs and I managed to delete it by searching thru the net on how to manually delete this worm. Unfortunately after deleting this I can't open my Drive C using double click unless I used right click then choose open then it will open. Here is the error message that came up. The window name is "Windows Script Host" the message is Can not find script file "C:FS6519.dll.vbs". How do I fix this so that I can use the double click again to open my Drive C:.
BTW I know this is too much too ask but how can I clean/remove the virus/worm on my flash drive? I think I got the virus from other pc using my flash drive then infected my other pc.
I can't open my Local Drive thru double click. I think its a malware or something but can anyone of you guys teach me how to get rid of it. My anti-virus and anti-spyware can't seem to detect it. This Windows Script Host message pop-ups everytime I double click on Drive C: Can not find script file "C:LibraryBoys6519.dll.vbs".
When opening my hard drives with a double click they all go into the search mode in lieu of opening. I have noticed that "SEARCH" is listed first and "OPEN" second using the right mouse button.
i recently had to format my hard drive and reinstall windows xp pro.after i reloaded and reudated everything i ran into a problem. once i turn the computer on and double click on my computer it takes about 5 minutes to find the contents.once the contents are found i can close my computer and double click it again it shows up right away.it seems to me that when the computer shuts down and then i restart that particular path to my computer is lost and it has to try to find it everytime i start the computer. dont know where to look or have any idea why this would be happening.
I don't know why, but every time I double click on a HDD, a device with removable storage or a CD drive, the search window comes up. Which means I have to right click it and go to 'Open
I accidentally screwed up my double click speed. Where should the bar be for the default double click speed or is there a registry key I can change for this.
This all started with iTunes - I could not get it to run - I have installed and uninstalled a few times. When i open my computer and double-click on Local Disk(C) drive, it doesn't open up, it brings up the Open With: box and tells me to choose which program to open Local Disk with.Under tools in my computer, there is no folder option too... I can't double click on my IE icon with out gettign a send to MS error. Same error happens when i go to start Explorer but i can go to my computer or somethign liek that and use that as a browser but only thing is if i click on somethign liek a link for say my explorer will then crash and once again i would be confronted by a send to MS error. I just installed winXp on a freh deive.Everything was going OK, I installed all the required apps. Anti Spywares, antivirus, firewall etc. Now suddenly the double click does not work on the desktop icons. If I right click and click Open, then everything is fine but the double click does not work.
whenever i open a folder by double-clicking it (from the desktop for example) it opens up a new windows with blank search results. the only way i can open new folders is through windows explorer. please help!
When I try to open a file by double clicking,Windows XP opens the search window. Any clues on how to fix the problem? I even tried to roll back to a previous date when the problem wasn't there.
If I double click any folder the search window opens rather than the folder. At the moment I have to open folders by right clicking and selecting open. Any ideas?
i have XP Pro Basically I was messing around in file types because my folder icons were botched. Ran TweakUI to fix folder icons, but here is what happened. double clicking a folder opened the search window. So i went into file types and created a new action, and pointed it at explorer.exe from my windows directory. Now, the problem is, when i double click it opens the folder in a new window, instead of the same.
when I am in the advanced settings of file types (tools-folder options-file types) the Edit and Remove buttons will not light up, but i am the administrator. Restore defaults doesn't work.
Is there a backend way to fix this anyone knows of, short of reformatting ?? system restore to a previous date did nothing.

I have a dell d520. Recently, after XP updated, I stopped being able to double click the flash drive icon to open it. I can open it by right clicking and choosing explore or open, and the auto open still works when I first plug it in. It works just fine on other computers. I've tried error-checking to no avail. Any suggestions?
When I open my computer and double click the c:, an install shield wizard opens and wants me to install the intel extreme graphics driver. I am not able to access the C drive. However, when I right click on c: I can choose open or explore and I can browse the drive. So this is only happening when I left click.
All recent virus/spyware scans are clean (AVG, panda, trendmicro, spybot, adaware, spyware doctor, and ewido). Below is a recent HJT log, although I didn't see anything which would be causing this.
