My pavilion ze4500, xp O.S., is having problems starting up. I believe that the fan had some troubles in the past, as I am almost positive the notebook has shut off after leaving it on all day while I was out. Currently (and for at least 3 months since the previously described shut down) the fan appears to be working ok, since I sucked some of the dust out- but the problem I am having now occurs at start up. I do receive on error message after xp fully loads. It reads; RUNDLL error loading c:programfileswildtangentappscdacdaengine0400.dll However- I dont necessarily believe that this is related, but I thought Id better be thorough.
I have a problem with Windows XP. I didn't shut down the PC properly. After that when I switch it on, the windows progresses until the screen with blue button running right-left left-right for couple of seconds and then: black screen and nothing.I tried safe startup - it worked OK. I performed recovery to yesterday savepoint, but the result remains the same as above.
About my BSOD problem w/ my Windows 2000 Professional 2Pk operating system. Computer will not startup properly then goes to blue screen
I've been looking for help online and speaking to people but everyone is down on me for still using Windows 2000 Professional. Am willing to upgrade to XP if I can figure out the current problem
Have a hp Pavilion 4600ze. Nice laptop and running Windows XP. Have always (almost always) had the situation that if choose restart it will log out and go to black screen and not restart (I'm sure it isn't shutting down). Just sits there and only by powering down can one start back up. I recall finding something on the web to make a change so that Windows XP could be sent through restart OK.
I have an old HP pavillion 521n. I restored it to OEM then erased few games and unnecessary programs and was trying to give it to my friend. It was working fine for few weeks but now it just keep beeping and didn't loadup window. I put in a bootable disk but it would not read it. I put in the bootable window XP dish but it didn't work either. I cannot get anything on the sceen. The computer is humming and showing is was reading the CD disk.
I have a Pavilion M50 monitor that i'm using for my computer with windows 2000. The monitor works fine and all, but the microphone that comes attached doesnt.(comes with a cable that plugs into the mic jack)I thought this might be a driver problem, as windows simply recognizes the Monitor as a "Plug and Play Monitor" and when trying to download the driver from the HP support site it essentially said that the Pavilion M50 had no driver for Windows 2000/XP.I don't have another micropohne to plug into the jack, only USB ones which work fine. The Audio output of the jack right beside it works fine so i don't believe it is the sound card driver.
I have been trying to help a friend update or correct her winxp on her HP pavilion 520w I have a copy of my winxp cd from my dell system however I dont have the product key code to use it. So I have tried repeatedly to reset her computer to boot from her cdrom without success. I even posted here last week and someone suggested to tap the delete key when rebooting to change the boot sequence. I wasnt able to get it to work. However I did accidently discover that tapping F10 brings up the Recover system on her computer. Not knowing exactly for sure if I could just correct her winxp with recoverying the whole system I turned off the computer to stop it. I have 3 questions if the Recovery System on this HP model allows you to correct a current copy of your windows without reformatting? how to set this HP model to reboot from the CD-rom?
I don't know if this is the right place to place this but can anyone tell me how to find out where the battery is located in an HP pavilion 760n. Its about 3 yrs old.
I was about to do a restore on my computer today. I restarted my computer and hit the F10 key like always, but nothing happens, the computer just restarts. I tried it repeatedly with the same result. I went back to my computer and seen that the restore partition is still there can anyone tell me why I cannot get my restore working? Is there a way around this I mean is there another way to activate my restore?
I got that HP pavilion 503x that needs a fresh install of windows. it was running on xp home edition and i want to go with xp pro.my problem is that when i put in my xp pro cd (that i have used several times on other pcs) it reads it but doesnt boot it and goes directly to HP reinsatallation system for PC. I have like 8 cds for HP xp home installation. when i put in the disc 1, it reads it and boots it normally but the cds appears to be corrupted and at somee point the installation will crash. i havee tried copying the cd on a clean one but it doesnt see whats on it, it doesnt read it and keep ejecting the cd out. im confused, its the first time its happen, and i dont get it. my winxp cd works perfectly fine on my other computer.its like the computer wont read anything but the HP cds.
I have an almost new HP Pavilion zd8120cl, and run windows XP. I have all of my Virus protection (Norton System Works Premier 2005) updated ( I do it daily along with any MS updates).Yesterday I opened an email from a friend that was sending me some documents, right after this is when all the trouble began. The documents did not open but a quick screen note that said something like "downloading giant anti spyware program" I turned of my modem right away. I don't know if this is all related or just happened at the same time
I am new to this forum so please help me out. I am 64 years old and selftaught so I know little about PC. My son gave me the PC 2 years ago. I use it for email and search and browse things on PC. Lately it has a lot of popups, adds and loud rap music (even I din't run any program). Nothing on the screen except the sound on the speakers. I had tried everything, but no success for eliminate them. I tried to reformat my PC, but when I got to that point, it won't allow me to do so, because it said that ONLY one copy can be done and I don't know if my son already copied it or not. I couldn't find the system recovery disk. I know that it has a partition for recovery but I couldn't open it. So finally I called the HP customer services to buy a replacement for the system recovery disk. These guys want to do it then, but I wasn't ready yet, my data still not backup yet. I refused to do so and request only the disk. Finally the disk came and I finished backup my files, but I didn't know that I had to back up my drivers. so now I can't find the driver and stuck with the blue screen with a bunch of things that I had to check and a lot of numbers.A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
When booting my HP Pavilion A1410N desktop PC (windows XP), I get a screen with a message saying something like "We apologize, but we cannot boot your PC...may be a recent hardware or software change". If I let it go, it keeps trying to reboot and coming back to the same screen.
When I tried to upgrade xp home to xp pro, a strange error msg keeps coming up during installation. - "There is an internal error. please ask system administrator" HP techie suggested me disabling SATA in BIOS, but there is no such an option under system configuration.I don't see "Disabling SATA" option in BIOS. There are only two options, Boot sequence and Sound(?).Is HP dv6040ca upgradeable to XP pro? I've tried removing xp home and reinstalling xp pro from retail CD. As well I tried the latest BIOS and updated AMD driver.
I've got a HP pavilion 533w that I'm trying to fix for a friend of mine. First I ordered the recovery disks from HP and they don't work because of bad or corrupted files. I've tried 2 different hard drives, same thing. I tried loading Windows XP Professional but it fails after loading the drivers and does not respond at "Setup Is Starting Windows". Any ideas so far? I did get Windows 2000 load and everything working except the printer. When I install the HP psc 1210v all-in-one the driver fails and the printer won't print. This is a USB printer by the way.
How do i get into the bios? i have a hp pavilion pc, and i can only get into some sort of bios, pressing F1 or F11. is there anyway i can get into the 'real' bios??also i ran bootvis (it works for me) but it said that 'disk write caching is disable'. can i enable this? also i had my hard drive replaced under warranty from PC world, could they have messed up?
Its come with windows vista, but i downgraded to xp. I have everything runnig fine (audio, video, wireless) but the problem is that my laptop turn off regularly. When i'm working it's just turn off. I am having is with my HP Pavilion ZE5730us Notebook. I had to reinstall Windows XP Home on it, and I am now plagued with a NON-functioning wireless toggle on the front, and the blue light stays lit all the time. The wireless function seems to work fine. I have installed all drivers, and have also installed the HP One Touch application as directed by a HP Tech to no avail. The mute button works fine, and all other aspects of the laptop work fine other than the Wireless Toggle Switch and the Blue Wireless Status light. All worked fine before I reinstalled XP Home with a retail install disk.
I installed windows xp on my hardrive from my other computer and then took the hardrive out of it and installed it into the hp pavilion 533w tower.I turned the pc on and when I do,I don't get any moniter display. The only thing that happen is the light on the front of my pc tower blinks irratically, and all 3 of my keyboard lights blink on and off and keep doing so at the same speed as the light on my pc tower. Does anyone know how that I can fix this issue? Or does someone have the original restore disk(s) for this 533w computer?
I have a 2 Year old HP dv600 Laptop that causes endless griefThe computer boots up with the HP quick Play display on screen with a choice of three selections DVD.Music and Windows OS When Windows OS is selected the Computer goes in to search which takes up to 1-2 Min.and then goes in to sleep mode The only way to get it to boot up at all is to boot in to safe mode and then restart I have uninstalled HP quick launch with no results it seems Quick Play is a Keyboard service and there doesn't seem any way to circumvent the Key.

I am having trouble getting my computer to pickup the c drive I formatted my computer using a windows xp cd since the recovery from the computer would not work. And now it just will not pickup it just restarts and shutsdown.
Does anyone have a recovery disc for an HP pavilion 9745.I am told a disc Part Number 5066-0544 is what I require but my last resort, "Pavilion Repair Services" said they had not got one.
