I want to control my Windows XP account (like remote desktop) while my father using the computer? or How can you control 2 different accounts with remote desktop? (both of them remote!)
View 7 RepliesI'm having a bit of a problem. As far as I know, my comouter is completely free of viruses and spyware. For about a month and half now, I've been receiving the error message "Windows cannot open user accounts control panel" every time I double-click on User Accounts in Control Panel. I've been to many sites and I'm still stumped. I think the problem lies in the file nusmrgr.cpl being damaged or defective. If anybody can't offer me some advice or point me in the direction of a download or a recommended piece of software. is (obviously) Windows XP and I've already tried System Restore and Roxio GoBack.
View 2 Replies View Relatedis it possible to run multiple accounts in XP at 1 time. for example I have two User Accounts, one if ABC and other is XYZ. I opend ABC in my PC and want to connect XYZ from other computer using Remote Desktop.
I tried this but it disconnects other user who already using that computer.
It happens even opening the control panel, like 20 seconds. On the internet it's even worse. I have a cable connection. My puter was really fast before. I have a Pentium 4 - 2.4 - 512 Ram. It also seem to use a lot of high % of usage and I don't know what it is.

It can take anywhere from 10-40 seconds to do this. My drive is 40% free.

my add -remove programs list in control panel takes a long time to compile the list. even with "show updates" unchecked. there are a couple that wont remove, games that my son installed and free trial ran out. one list under "start-programs" and the uninstall button leads to the documents folder, and "remove" says some file is missing. it still has a file in program files also.

Right-clicking the taskbar even in the program is uncool.The catch is, I can execute any CP dialog EXCEPT this one as a command line, either passing a dialog parameter to Control.exe or else using a *.cpl file name with Control.exe or directly. But I can't find "Taskbar and Start Menu".
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo i was trying to make some room on y C drive and i guess i deleted some files that i shouldn't To make a long story short now my volume control thingy that stays on my taskbar has dissapeared.When i go to the control panel and to sounds and audio devices and i get in there and there is an icon with the option to place volume icon on the taskbar but when i click on that i get 'windows cannot display the volume control on the task bar because the volume control program has not been installed. After several tries i figured i deleted the windows file soundvol32.exe but how the hell do i get it back and put it in its right place?I have no idea where it would go? Anybody have an idea how i can install that back? I tried using my windows cd but since i put service pack 2 on it it said that the version of windows i had on the cd was older than my current version.

The date goes back to Nov. 2003. Once I correct the date, time and year things seem to perform ok.

Specifically, DST will start three weeks earlier (2:00 A.M. on the second Sunday in March) and will end one week later (2:00 A.M. on the first Sunday in November). Thus, Microsoft is releasing an update to address changes that have or will take place in several countries. The update will be delivered automatically to Windows XP SP2 users starting December 12th (or can be downloaded now by clicking here) and will be included in Windows Vista.

View 3 Replies View Relatedi do scans quite a bit and delete alot of things everytime. there is the msn spyware thing that keeps coming back after i delete that, as well as many other things i dont even know about. some of my devices just shut them selves down from time to time (mouse, scanner/printer, and otherthings i cant remember but the key board is fine) and after a few seconds turn back on. and the whole thing just crashes sometimes. i did that scan thing but im not sure if i did it right.

My mouse/pointer is STILL freezing after about 5 minutes of being logged on. I am using the touchpad mouse that is on my laptop. I have ran an updated version of Adaware6, Spybot, CWShredder & AVG Anti-Virus. I also have Spyware Blaster Protection enabled. View 8 Replies View RelatedOn our PC there are 3 accounts.The second account [my son's] has in the notification tray, the time and then underneath the time is the day of the week.
Now, I can't find anywhere to enable/disable this in the date/time options window.
One other thing...if I go to start menu>properties>choose classic start menu, then according to the pic there should be a blue margin on the side of the start menu saying: Windows XP. Well in the second account this is the case, but in my own account this blue margin isn't present. While I'm aware these are not extreme issues....it's just I like to know what is going on with things.
For some reason, as of yesterday night, I can't syncronize my computer time with a time server. When I click on the time on the bottom right hand corner, and under the Internet Time tab, I can't syncronize the time using both time.windows.com and nist.gov servers. When I use the Windows server, it gives this error message: "An error occured while Windows was syncronizing with time.windows.com. The time sample was rejected because: The peer's stratum is less than the host's stratum."
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've got a user accounts issue. Recently I noticed my main user account (the only one besides the default ones) has lost admin rights. I don't know why, but it could be because I changed its name recently, via userpasswords2. I didn't change it's account type though. Still, if I open up the user accounts panel, it now says it's a guest account.Now that wouldn't be much of an issue, if only the admin account wasn't disabled. And of course I can't enable it, because I don't have the rights. Safe mode didn't help either, and I can't do a system restore.

My dad said some of my cousins were using my computer but I've asked them and they say they don't know anything.Right now with this account I'm limited to tons of stuff, I can't even download programs. View 5 Replies View RelatedI really hope that someone can help me, I can't seem to log on to my laptop. I am using an XP operating system on a toshiba laptop.
When my laptop boots up, I get the standard blue screen that tells me to log onto my user area but for some reason my user area has vanished, i.e. I have nothing to click on. I normally only have one user area and it does have a password but it is not there.
If I press Ctrl+Alt+Del a "log on to windows" bos appears with my user name already but it will not accept my password.
I have tried rebooting in safe mode but still no user administrator (or indeed my own) user area appeals for me to click on either.
With nothing to click on there appears no way for me to actually get into windows.
I downloaded the IE 7(beta) and I really do like it! But I have one problem with it.When I try to access other email accounts such as yahoo, a message comes up say "Not Optimized".Then it gives me the option to go back to IE6 or Yahoo browser or Netscape.I want to keep IE7.What can I do so that I may be able to access other email accounts with IE7?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using windows xp pro on a dell inspiron 6400, and I have two issues. One is that when I put a file in the recycle bin it is instantly deleted and can not be recovered. When i drag it to the recycle bin it asks if I am sure I want to delete it, I say yes and it is gone. However, I would like to be able to put things in the recycle bin and remove them later. My other issue is that I am not asked for a password when I turn the computer on, however when I lock the screen my password works there.
