Do I have a Trojan? I bought noadware to fix this problem and my computer is still running slow and I am being taken to the WinFixer window that wanrs me of the Blood Hound virus.....how do I get rid of this?

A few days ago my windows firewall warning was on. While attempting to re-enable the firewall through the security center I received a message "we're sorry, the security center could not turn on windows firewall" and then told me to do it manually. Attempting to open the windows firewall gave me this message "Windows firewall settings could not be displayed because the associated service is not running. Do you want to start the windows firewall/Internet Connection sharing service? Yes/No.Clicking Yes, gives this message: "Windows cannot start the Windows firewall/Internet connection sharing (ICS) service." With no further explanation. I re-installed SP2 with no improvement.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been getting a pop up online its from something called winfixer, I have tried getting rid of it by downloading a free pop up stopper but it has'ent done the job, so I decided to run this winfixer thing and see if I could get rid of it from there, I got a message on screen from google saying that this thing was trying to steal my personal and finacial details and gave me an option to get out of there or ignore and carry on well you know what I chose. Its still there though everytime I go on line how can I get rid of it.

Everytime I delete it from my registry site list it returns. I'm just wondering if what can i do to permanently get rid of this annoying pest. I have run adaware, spybot, spysubtract, AVG, Norton and nothing seems to get rid if this. Can someone run me though detailed steps or excellent free programs that will terminate this forever
View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm running XP Home Edition on an HP home PC. I keep getting warning notifications that my computer has been infected with the "Blackworm Virus." I am then routed to a WinFixer purchase website (I haven't purchased or installed anything). In addition, there seems to be some other "bug" that will takeover my browser and route them to other sites. I have run AVG, Microsoft Spyware, Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware 6.0, and XoftSpy Scan - all to no avail. Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware and XoftSpy detect the cookies and allow for immunization but this action is obviously not getting to the heart of the problem. AVG hasn't even identified the items. I have also tried de-activating the restore points and rebooting in safe mode
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been getting alot of popups for Winfixer. I suspect other viruses have attached this PC. I ran ADAWARE, SPYBOT and AVG. I got rid of some but the Winfixer is persistant. I cannot come up in safe mode because the system hangs.

View 39 Replies View RelatedMy PC recently got a fairly nasty virus (W32-Sinowal-based Maximus! or something along those lines) so we had to get it wiped. A few days later, my computer was all messed up again. I can only boot up in Safe Mode, my sound doesn't work, and it is running slower than normal. I need to find out if I have another virus (although the guy who fixed it downloaded Norton Anti-Virus and it seemed fine for a few days) or if maybe my computer is just dying. It's about three years old and apparently it was outdated before we even bought it. Is there any way the virus could have affected the computer's hard drive or whatever (yeah, I don't quite know what I'm talking about) or have I maybe gotten another virus?

I think that I got rid of it, but I am not sure could anyone that can read a log please tell me if there is anything else left in the computer. The computer now doesn't stay on-line it disconnects itself. I called the company that provides me with my internet service, and they said that I need a filter for the phone line. The person told me that, that will take care of the problem of the internet disconnecting. I think that it could be the virus I had in the computer. I wasn't able to get on-line for at least a week, I had gone and checked the disk for errors and finally the anti-virus program was able to find the virus's.

Norton AntiVirus 2003 initially caught the virus and it supposedly deleted it, so I was not concerned with the message details. However, almost immediately after receiving the message I realized the virus was not completely removed. A DOS window popped up two or three times and then Norton shutdown. I tried opening Norton again but it would not open. I then tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it would not reinstall. I tried the Windows Update site and the page shows no conent. Any ideas on how to identify the virus so I can take steps to remove it?

I have computer ***. antivirus 2007. It is telling me I need to manually remove a Byte.Verify virus X3 I have. Directs me to: Start. Control Panel. Java Plug in Control Panel. Chache Tab and then to Clear.I can get to this manually but no one at CA will tell me what I am clearing or deleting so I am afraid to do this. Can anyone tell me what I'm deleting or clearing? I would not lose any significant data or programming?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have not been able to get into my C drive directly, I have got to use a shortcut,when I try to get into it directly I get a message saying "Windows cannot find 'RECYCLERs-2-8-49-100014492-100020849-100010941-4277.com.' make sure you have typed the name correctly, then try again. To search for a file, click the start button,and then Click Search." I only know that this is a virus because when I plugged a cheap usb storage stick I saw a folder called RECYCLER start to be created, I managed to stop it from finishing, but there is no RECYCLER folder in my C drive.

Since removing it though my computer runs chkdisk when it starts up which tells me there are several cross linked files.I have let this proccess run to up to an hour but it doesnt do anything so I reset the machine.When I tried to defrag the hardrive in windows xp it starts analysing the hard drive and comes up with an error message up saying that the scan has been cancelled because of an error in file c:windowswiaservc.log.

I've been getting some pop-ups all day today. I had come across GM ENTER as a running file yesterday and delt with it by running ad-aware which found the files and using HJT to pull the reg keys. I'm getting alot more pop-ups today though. I've run ad-aware three times, each time finding several files. I've also run HJT again and pulled a few more reg keys that I knew were just wrong. I don't have much on this PC as its Server 2003, emg.centralspeed.com is the page that keeps trying to open. Also on some of the attempts the add button goes off and it attempts to add the page as a trusted one. It's annoying.

i used a vundo fix and got rid of all of the vundo viruses but two would not go away.
i got error message : Error: 75. Path/File access error
The two files were :

why these two vundos won't go away? They won't clean from my antivirus or quarantine either.They keep popping up in my system notifying me that they are there.
