Dell Version 2002 And Video Card Upgrade
Nov 17, 2009I have a dell series 2002 computer need to up grade video card to Nvidia GeForce series FX5900 or greater a 128 MB video card with support for Pixel 2.0 don't know if I have a PCI version or AGP.Is that the slot? Don't know anything about computers.just want to play a game I bought.will that above mentioned video card fit in my computer and work.

Dec 29, 2005I bought the game Call of Duty 2 for my son for X-mas and when he tries to play it he gets an error msg that states "Video Card or Driver doesn't support dynamic textures." I now realize that he needs a new video card but I certainly don't want to spend $500 for it for him to be able to play PC games with good graphics. Can someone suggest a lower end video card update (that is compatible with my computer) that I can buy that will enable him to play this game? I don't know a lot about computers but here is the information that I know about this computer:Compaq Presario 5000 Desktop with Windows XP Home Edition Pentium III processor 512MB RAM 847 MHz (I didn't realize this was so little) Intel(r) 82810e DC-133 Systems and Graphics Controller.

Aug 1, 2005Not sure if this is the right group for this question - so apologies if anyone feels aggrieved.I have been told that it might be a good idea to update my nvidia geforce2 mx/mx400 bios (not driver) as it is 3 years old. I'm a bitconfused because the bios doesn't seem to be available on the nvidiasite but I have to get it from my motherboard site, Jetway. Am I goingnuts here? Can anyone reassure me of the best way of updating the biosin this video card?

Apr 21, 2005I have a Dell Dimension 8200 desktop running WinXP Home however It won't boot to the hard drive. I replaced the drive with a known working one and it still doesn't boot, says Diskette Drive 0 Not Found, however I figured that was referring to the floppy drive. Tried switching the ide cables around and that didn't work either. The power supply is working, as well as all of the fans. Its running a 1700mh processor. Cd-Rom works fine, and I can boot to a CD, I can browse the files if I boot to Knoppix, however it simply won't boot to the Hard Drive. I ran FixMbR and FixBoot in the recovery console, to no avail. Bios is configured properly, and I haven't touched the jumpers. Just to be sure I tried the hard drive in another system, and it wouldn't boot in that one either. Might be the mother board?

Aug 16, 2008i recently have done a reinstall of windows xp but the system cannot seem to be able to find the systems video card drivers and i have checked on the properties under adapters and the whole list says n/a so i have no way of find out what drivers i need to download. I have an emachines 5250 if that is any use.

Oct 31, 2007Recently I was playing a game, when my screen froze. I then shut my computer down to restart it, used it a few times (in 4-bit safe mode), then after I shutdown again, I cant log back in... it just freezes and the screen flashes, I cannot boot into my computer setup (default f2) or into safe mode (default f8), however I can run the XP cd and get into the recovery console, is there any way that I can change the boot sequence from the recovery console? The screen is dotted with a bunch of dots up and down the screen in columns, and is in 4-bit video mode.
I have a Dell xps gen 5 with xp home.
the error I get is:
"Error: Cant enter setup. Video Mode 103 not supported by this video card."
Video Card With S Video In And Over 1024 Pixels Resolution
Aug 12, 2005I hooked up my Xbox to my PC to play online using my monitor, only to find out that my NVidia Geforce4 Ti 4200 can only display a max resolution of 720x480 through my capture software, and this ain't good enough for me. Does somebody know of any specific card/adapter TV Tuner that has an S Video input and could give me resolution over 1024 pixels under $100.

Jun 14, 2010I was working away on my desktop tonight, and suddenly the monitor started freaking out. Here is a video to show you what's going on at startup, When it happened I was working in Cubase. I'd just reset the audio driver, and it started doing like in the video. After a little bit, the signal cuts out completely. It's not the monitor, I've checked with a spare and it's the same. I don't have another video card around at the moment, but I'm wondering if it's likely to be an issue with the hardware, or software/virus type stuff.The computer is XP, 2gb ram, nVidia Geforce card (sorry, can't recall which one) etc. Incidentally the card itself looks fine, ie it doesn't look like it's shorted or anything.

Feb 17, 2006I purchased a new pc recently and the operating system, XP Pro, needed Service Pack 2 installed. The install was uneventful and the pc seemed to have accepted the new service pack without any issues. However, ever since the installation, I have noticed a "flickering" round the edges of the screen and the screen's attempt to almost expand and contract around the same edge area.(FYI...I upgraded the os on another pc at the same time and the same effects around the edges of the screen are occurring). I went to Microsoft's SP2 database to try to determine whether or not this was a known problem, but I couldnt find anything mentioned about the flickering or shrinkage/expansion.I am also wondering whether or not there is some assocation to this problem and the mouse function?

SP2 Monitor And Video Card
Jun 7, 2006I wass just wondering if someone could tell me if I am on the right track or not Power supply went out on the computer Put in a new powersupply and everything comes back on except the monitor.The monitor lite is green at first and then turns to amber and nothing comes on.I tried another monitor and it does the same thing so I am guessing it is the video card.I would not think it would be the cord to the monitor cause that means the other monitor cord would also be bad and the odds are good that that would not be the case So am I on the right track that it would be the video card not getting from the tower to the monitor?It is a built in video card so I would have to get a PCI Video card cause there is no AGP slot.

I tried to find a driver and what I did find was for Win98. I tried that and it started asking for files - vbrun300.dll and I could find that, then it asked for threed.vbx - is this going to work even if I get all the required files? Is there a NT driver for this video card?

Dec 5, 2007I get a little pop-up message you know. install latest windows xp updates so i'm like. OK i'l just get this over and done with. I turn the computer off let windows do it's thing, turn it back on now I'm getting dots on the screen. They look like little droplets and most of the time they're blue. i get to the windows xp log-in screen now this is the "fun" (annoying/main part). WHENEVER I move my mouse cursor over the account tabs the computer just freeze's then the screen goes black, doesn't do anything after that. So I gave my friend a call who's a computer technician, he said that my video card is blown and that I will have to get a new one. My heart just dropped out of my but there for about 5 minutes. I gave my brother a call and he thinks otherwise. He said to do a system restore but this is another "fun" (annoying/main part). I'm trying to do a system restore on the PC (in safe mode) and it doesn't want to seem to work. First of all there are NO bold dates to choose from which is very strange as I applied a Windows XP update shortly before I did this update that screwed the PC up. And nothing came up, and another even f'd up thing is that I can' choose what months to go from. That little arrow that let's go go to previous months and months after? Click that, doesn't do anything. So I gotta wait for my bro to come back from Canberra for the meantime which should be i n around a weeks time or so. But ugh I can't wait that long i'm gonna die of boredom here. So I am begging all.. of you. from the bottom of my heart, is there ANYTHING absolutely ANYTHING I could do to FIX this? I'm so close to throwing this thing out the window Badluck seems to be coming from all sides at me lately and I really can't put up with this.
