What the task "CreateObjectTask" is coming from? I can't find it anywhere.

I would like to replace Bing search and use Google search when I open the IE app in Windows 8.1. Is this possible?

Allow wake timers is enabled in power configuration, and BIOS settings are correct as it woke up when had Win7 installed.
I've set a task manually, and used an alarm program that wakes it, but neither work, what can I check to resolve this?
Task Scheduler has deprecated popup messages, so how to I get it to work?

I want to start two applications at windows start-up, but the application need administrator's privilage could not start at start-up directory or registry. I've heard these applications can start at windows start-up with Task Scheduler.
I am able to open a document using task scheduler in my Windows XP machine, but not in my Windows 8.1 machine or my daughters Windows 8 machine. Is this a Windows 8 bug?
I am able to open the document by hand, but when I wait for the time that Task Scheduler has assigned to open the document, nothing happens. On the other hand when I do the same thing in my XP machine it opens correctly at the assigned time.
I have cleaned my computer completely and reloaded the original operating system then upgraded to Windows 8.1 but it didn't do anything to solve the problem.
Windows 8 x64 OS, now unable to create a basic task from Task Scheduler.
Typed all args, click the Finish button in the last step, an error:
"Transaction support within the specified file system resource manager is not started or was shut down due to an error".
I have fixed it base on the URL below, but not luck. You cannot change the settings for a file backup operation or use Windows Task Scheduler to change the defrag schedule in Windows Vista. How to fix it.
Somehow, a mysterious requirement for a password crops up near the finish line of my abortive attempt to use task scheduler (windows 8.1). I never created one, and cant come up with one that works. Without the PW, task scheduler is useless.
View 6 Replies View RelatedUpgraded from 8 to 8.1 about a 2 weeks ago. Noticed about a week later that my nightly backup stopped running from the time 8.1 went in. Something stuck 2 new lines of code in the .xml for the task and also changed the run-userid. My admin userid got changed to a MS admin userid. I removed the two lines of code and changed the run-userid back to the correct one and now the backup runs OK. Then I noticed that it wasn't keeping task history. Next I noticed that no tasks were keeping history at all! And I'm unable to turn history on. It said it was on, I turned it off, turned it back on again. Still no history.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried using a batch file to run ccleaner at log on. But it always takes forever when it cleans Firefox. So I made a batch file to just delete the Firefox temp folder. And I unchecked Firefox in ccleaner so ccleaner ignores Firefox.
Here's the batch file.
Code: RMDIR 5bngz3ew.default /S /Q
I put it in the task scheduler. When I run it it says it cant find the file specified (0x80070002). I set the task to run with highest privileges. But every time I run it it gives that error. I don't know why its giving an error when it deletes the folder. So it works fine. I just want to know why its producing an error.
My task scheduler wont let me create basic tasks. I enter in all the info and the time and date I want the task to be displayed but when I go to click finish it says the following error has occurred 2147750704.
Im running Windows 8. Ive seriously had nothing BUT problems with this version. Not impressed.
Task scheduler on my computer. I disabled it, then like a few hours later it enables itself back up. How to disable task scheduler for good????
View 18 Replies View RelatedI am struggling to set the Task Scheduler in Win 8.1 to set a daily Restore Point and also to schedule Windows Defender to automatically update itself then run a full scan at a specified time daily. When I try to program the Win Defender function, I find that when I select the Win Defender folder from the left pane library, the resulting right pane contains no "Windows Defender Scheduled Scan" folder, so resulting settings seem to have no effect.
There are two other tasks listed in that right pane - one about cache maintenance and the other about verification (whatever that means), how to get Task Scheduler to work. I don't want to have to download another anti-virus program, but looks I'll have to if I can't get this thing to work. Of course, the inability to get a daily Restore Point may be an even bigger problem with this Task Scheduler, but I'm starting with Defender.
I have Win8.1 installed on an HP Envy AiO. I have a little over a dozen tasks set-up in Task Scheduler. Everything was working fine until I attempted to install a Video File Converter from Cnet.com. That program installed something called "Auto Updater 1.2.0.3". And that's when our new problem started. The majority of the tasks in TS are now running every time we boot the machine. Not what we want.
I couldn't find much on-line about the Auto Updater program, and tried to uninstall with no success. I finally went into Safe Mode to install that way. The program is now uninstalled. I also am very careful about malware and viruses, so I ran MWBytes full scan and several AV scans with Avast Internet Security (rootkit, boot, full). All appears to be OK with the PC.
Is there a simply way to view CUSTOM HANDLERS or CUSTOM TRIGGERS in the Task Scheduler?
If not what application do I need? This very annoying not being able to VIEW schedules running.
Currently running Win 8.1.1 x64 Pro. Task Scheduler stopped recording History on 1/5/2014 - no task history is available after that date for any task.
Enable All Tasks History is active in Task Scheduler (i.e., Disable All Tasks History displays.)
I don't know what caused Task Scheduler to stop recording History. How can I get it to start recording History again?
Having tried unsuccessfully to program Task Scheduler (in 8.1), I found at the above site in Windows 7 forums a shortcut for a script which supposedly simplifies manual creation of a System Restore point. However when I use it the Restore Point created with the script carries the notation "Install" in the list of Restore Points.

View 3 Replies View RelatedFor example it starts SpeedFan without any problem, and with same settings, or even in the same Task, if I add for example other .exe software like FTP server software Gene6 FTP Server it simply doesn't start for any reason and nothing happens and it has to be started manually by mouse-clicking on .exe each time computer is booted up.
On Last Run Result column it says 0x800702E4. And it gives various 0x results for various programs that don't run.
Also simply dragging shortcuts to Startup folder don't work either. But like I said, not all .exe programs, some work and some don't, just like 50/50 I simply don't get it.
I use Comodo Antivirus and ZoneAlarm firewall, but all those programs I need has 100% permissions granted.
I've added task manager to my scheduled tasks at logon. Everywhere I google, they say to put the /min or -minimized arguments in it to launch it minimized, except neither option works for me. Task Manager launches, but just sits there on my desktop.
Is there a new argument for minimized in Windows 8?
Boot directly into Windows 8 RP Desktop directly, without using 3rd party tool or using any script.
1. Move the Desktop Tile and place it in the top left corner of the Metro Start Screen, just below the Start text.
2. Reboot your Windows 8 and you will see the login screen. As usual, type in your local account or Windows Live account password. Just enter the password, don't press the Next arrow or Enter key here.
3. Now press AND hold down the Enter key. In a few seconds, you will see your Windows 8 desktop appear Thus will have skipped Metro Start Screen smartly!
Boot Direct to Desktop. I found this in a Windows 8 book in the Start Screen Store. If you want to boot directly into the desktop without passing thru the Start Screen
-Go to the start screen & type in schedule to search for Schedule Task in Settings.
-Click on Task Scheduler Library in the left pane, and select Create Task in right pane.
-Name your task something like Boot to desktop.
-Now select the Triggers tab, choose New, and use the drop-down box to select starting the task At log on.
-Click OK and go to the Actions tab, choose New, and enter explorer for the Program/Script value.
-Press OK, save the task, and restart to test it out.
Have upgraded to 8.1. Now when I navigate to Google in IE11 and enter a search, the results are displayed in single words all down the left hand side of the screen, like so:

View 3 Replies View RelatedHere's a question about Google's search engine. And it is related to web browsers, sort of...
Whenever I search in Google I get the local google.rs, and a little box pops up on the right giving me an option to "Switch to English".
Now, I work from home, so I'm online all day and I search on Google quite a lot. I do not want to change my search engine, if I can fix the problem.
The problem is that I do not want it to keep redirecting to the local .rs google search engine, and then ask me every time if I want to switch to English or keep the local language. It's annoying, it wastes my time, and I've noticed that a lot of times if I change it to English it actually displays different results than it does if I let it search with the local .rs google search engine.
Any way to change this gestapo setting and make it Always search the English search engine?
I've recently noticed "Safe Preview Refinements" when I do google searches, how can I remove this?
