Network / Sharing :: Cannot Connect To The Internet
Apr 22, 2014
I have an Asus Aspire laptop with windows 8 on it. Recently my laptop has refused to load we pages. It says it is connected to the wifi and it will load the opening page for Google Chrome. If I try to go any further than that, it says the web page is unavailable.
Mobo is a Gigabyte 970A-ud3 cpu - AMD-FX 8 core Ram 8gb gskill
PC lost connection to internet before I reinstalled a clean copy of Win 8. I went in to device manager disabled Ethernet driver, then enabled it-still no connection!
From yesterday I am having my trouble connecting to internet my laptop shows that it's connected to wifi but when I load any pages it gives dns error I contacted my ISP and they gave me all the settings but still no luck but when I ran Linux through DVD internet worked so my windows is having problems not the router I have Wi-Fi connection. Sometimes it's shows connected and sometimes limited but whatever it shows cant load any web pages except "192.168.1.1" but I can load any pages on my Android. I have attached my system log of my laptop. Link to log - dropcanvas - instant drag and drop sharing - canvas view
I tried
System restore - failed System refresh - missing files Uninstalled recently installed programs Reset all network configuration using cmd
i really suffer when i use my laptop to connect to the internet via wifi
1. can't connect to this network : this message appears every time i try to connect to the internet even at home where the distance between the laptop and the router is less than one meter aand no one is using the internet
2.even if i managed to connect to the network i can't connect to the internet for a while -varies from 5 to 10 minutes-
3. sometimes the network auto disconnects with no error message
4.there is a small '!' above every available network and i remember it disappeared for a while and the networking was perfect
On my windows 8 laptop I haven't had any problems for months but now my apps on the start screen won't connect to the internet, but I can still connect to the internet when I'm in desktop.
I've had this since I installed 8, but other little things kept me busy and since the PC is on all day, it's not been a big inconvenience, I would like to get it fixed however.
When I boot up the PC does not connect to the net.
When I trouble shoot it, it connects and gives the message
"ethernet" doesnt have a valid ip configuration fixed.
The desktopUI all my software can connect fine to the internets, browsers, emaiclients, games etc etc. On the MetroUI nothing connects to the internet. for example with the windows app store i get the message (roughly translated from Dutch) "Windows store didn't connect to server or timed out, wait a few minutes and try again" clicking the back button top right, or the try again "link" have no response whatsoever.

Whenever I boot up my computer, I always have to go and connect to the internet. It doesn't automatically connect to the internet. I don't want to do this anymore. I tried clicking "Connect Automatically," but that didn't solve the problem. I also tried troubleshooting. It found some problems, and it was the problems were fixed but it still doesn't work.
A cold boot results in no network connection. My network displays as available, but the PC can't see it. A warm reboot connects as it should. Checked for driver updates to the Intel adapter 4965AGN, only to see Intel no longer supports it, and Dell tells me I have the newest driver available for this 9400 Inspiron. All worked well with Win 8, but no joy with 8.1. May have to check into a newer adapter for this laptop - if such a thing is available.
My weather, news, finance, travel and maps tiles can never connect to internet even though I can, at the same time, browse and download. I tried to figure it out in many ways but failed eventually . When I click any of those tiles, it opens and a message pops up and says the app cannot connect to the internet. The network indicator on top-right side of the tile also shows 'Offline'. The tiles show sample data only. My computer gets automatically connected to internet after log in. So the tiles should have got connected.
When I do a troubleshoot for connection I get trouble with network connectivity and internet connection, Dell could not find the answer and neither could Microsoft but they found problems with connection address .what my problems when I go on a web site and try to get something off the web site the internet will say the address is correct but cannot connect
I am having a problem with my windows 8 gaming computer. all the metro apps that are on my pc can't access the internet. mail, store, weather, news, finance and metro IE. desktop IE works fine, as that is how I am posting this. I noticed this happening after I had a ZEROACESS virus infection, and I removed the virus with Hitman pro beta. I also ran sfc /scannow and It found corrupt files, but was unable to repair some of them.
I've been using Windows 8.1 Preview and today I decided to load up the store and the store won't connect to the internet. Other apps work just find but the Store won't connect to the internet. It shows I have 28 updates to install from the store but when I click on the store icon just takes me to the can't connect to the store try again later.
I just got a new HP Envy and cannot connect completely to the internet. It will not connect completely wirelessly or wired. I've reset my router and all other devices can connect with no problems. From what I've read this is not an uncommon problem... When I troubleshoot it says "Wifi"/"Ethernet" doesn't have a valid IP configuration
My computer hard rive recently crashed and was sent off to manufacturer to be supposedly fixed. Once I got it back my internet connection was spotty. Internet explorer would often stop working. It got to a point that I could not connect tonetworks, I tried multiple networks. This occurred a week before I left the country and didn't have much time to look into it.
I am connecting to a network and only getting "limited connectivity". My iPhone and iPad are able to connect. I've spent a few hours playing with it and googling. I get the message "one or more network protocols are missing on this computer". When I check the network connections it says IPv4 Connectivity: No Internet Access. IPv6 Connectivity: No Internet Access.
I have a samsung laptop and 4 days ago the internet access stopped working. I normally use it via wireless and I have tried it hardwired - no luck. I have restored the internet settings. The response I get when trying to connect to google is 'waiting for google.com' and it just hangs.
I recently got a 2 slot card but seems to be 1 cm away from my wireless network adpater. When booting up, everything runs fine except I'm unable to connect to the internet. I'm wondering if the GPU is blocking the adapter. The GPU is running at 30 celcius
The problem is that either Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 (just updated it) can connect to any internet shared through any mobile devices (iPhone5 & iPhone 5s), but I can connect to any other wireless networks. I have tried to connect to this iOS shared network through Win7 (Other pc) and it connects successfully without any problems. The actual iOS networks shows up in Network List, but just can't connect to it and keeps timing out.
I upgraded my Windows 7 laptop to Windows 8 and none of the apps work and they all show offline. When I open the desktop I can use the internet with no problem. In the network and sharing options it says that I am not connected to a network when clearly I am so I'm guessing it is possibly a network/IPv6 issue?
Yesterday, I decided to relocate my PC from one room to the other. Not a big deal I would assume. However, I was unable to connect to the internet with Firefox at the new location. I checked my signal strength to my router and it seemed fine. So I opened Task Manager and checked the WiFi performance chart, what I saw were very brief moments of connectivity, meaning I could connect to the internet for about 10 seconds, then it would stop, but the signal to the router would still appear strong. This would repeat constantly about once every minute or so. I've been trying to fix this for the past day and I could not find an answer anywhere. I've tried to restart everything, I've tried to reset some network settings, and I've tried messing with the local/ static IP address. I doubt it's a problem with the IP address though. On an additional note, whenever I run the Windows Network Troubleshooter, it tells me to restart my router (Which obviously didn't work).
I got an Inspiron 15R and upgraded to Windows 8.1 and I noticed that the bluetooth driver for my Jam Classic wasn't working. I looked for hours and I found a post detailing another substitute driver and I decided to install it (Qualcomm Antheros). It worked for a bit but then it decided to crap out on me after I rebooted my system. So I uninstalled the driver and apparently it took the internet with it because my laptop can't find any wireless networks now and what's worse is that I've been using my Microsoft Account to login and I don't have any other accounts on the start screen to login with. I basically can't do anything.
Getting the limited connectivity problem when waking up my Toshiba laptop running 8.1. Having to reboot it every time I go to use it is getting old. Tried telling it not to shut off the wireless network car when going to sleep but that didn't seem to work.
I can no longer access the internet from my other laptop.
When I boot up it says "Failed to connect to a windows service".
I believe that the computer cannot locate my wireless card.
I am told that there are no available connections.
When I try to open Network and Sharing Centre, it crashes.
There are no exclamation makes in Device Manager and everything else seems to be working ok.
I just cannot find any networks and appears to be something to do with my wireless card - which has worked perfectly until yesterday when I turned on my laptop and found this problem.
Two days ago my ISP replaced my modem-router for a new one. Ever since the replacement, my main desktop computer won't connect to the internet "immediately". I checked the connection via ethernet and WiFi with my other computers (even tested every single one of my ethernet cables) and they work perfectly fine, except for my main desktop computer.
What my desktop does:
When I turn it on I have to wait for around an hour before it connects to the internet. During that hour, it attempts to identify something (I guess the IP? - the yellow warning icon gets displayed) and after 3 seconds of attempting, the connection drops and it goes back to saying "No connection". The connection is being made via Ethernet cable and I tried the troubleshoot but it continues to say that I need to plug-in a ethernet cable to my computer, thing is it is already plugged in and like I stated above, the cable worked fine with all my other computers. My desktop used to work perfectly fine with my old modem-router.
I attempted to do do some troubleshooting refreshing my ip using the cmd with admin privileges but nothing worked as it said every time that there was no media connection. My desktop just randomly connects to the internet by itself after an hour of attempting to connect and disconnecting and once it gets connected it works perfectly fine until I restart my computer or turn it off and then the next day it'll be the same thing over again.
This has gotten extremely annoying, what can I do to fix this and further prevent it from happening? - I updated all my drivers and it's still the same. It'll just connect to the internet whenever it wants to.
I am currently on an old Dell Inspiron running Vista and have no problems connecting to my wireless network and getting online but the Lenovo G Series I just bought, that runs Windows 8, does not want to connect.
Firstly, I don't like that it's constantly trying to connect to a bunch of default networks that it CAN find that aren't mine. I want to disable those. I only want it to attempt to connect to mine.
In the middle of typing this, it looked like it was working for a moment, but then it went down again. To this new computer the signal is reading very weak or something. Every other device in my home can connect except for this new computer.
I have a Asus Laptop operating with Windows 8.1. It connects to wifi but none of the desktop icons can get to the Internet. Meanwhile most window tiles in the start menu have Internet access . For example I have the application "MegaTube" and that application has access to the Internet. As well as the weather app, which updates when connected to the Internet.
I have a lenovo G505 laptop - it will no longer connect to my BT home hub despite it showing as being available. I suspect it might be to do with the fact that it is has a passkey - I entered it yesterday when prompted and it connected fine, but now I'm not being given the option of entering the key.
I've also tried connected using the BT wifi (as opposed to homehub) but once again it will not connect me. I've been through all the troubleshooting options, and searched under every term I can think of, but nothing is working.
I'm using Windows 8.1 Professional. After the update to 8.1, I can't connect to my network printer which is connected to a Windows XP Home machine. Everything was working before the upgrade. I can currently see, connect, access and modify files on all the computers. I keep getting a message that I don't have permission to access the printer and I can't access the permissions on the Windows XP computer. I'm also using a Windows 7 computer which has no problem accessing the printer.
My main PC, 2 laptops, an iPhone and an iPad all connect to my home wifi network. All worked perfectly until 3 days ago.
The 2 laptops and my PC all run Windows 8.1 (all updated). 3 days ago my Toshiba Qosmio stopped being able to connect to my home network. All other devices still connect perfectly.
The Qosmio doesn't detect my wifi network. I immediately went to the network adapter's (Qualcomm Atheros) website and downloaded the latest driver. Installed it and for a brief (very brief) time it could once again detect and connect to the network. Last 3 days unable to either detect or connect.
It detects other networks fine, and has no problems connecting to any other network - except mine (doesn't even detect mine anymore). It connects to the iPhone (when used as a hotspot) without any issues.
I've uninstalled and re-installed the new driver, re-booted the wireless router (several times), re-set the router to factory settings, used Windows trouble shooter, checked & deleted the netsh profiles. Re-booted the laptop a dozen + times, disabled (& uninstalled software) for the laptop's Bluetooth.
It simply stopped working.
I've tried everything I can find on the web - without any success at all. I've had the laptop sitting only a few cm from the router.
