Multiple Task Schedulers Running?
Jul 4, 2013I checked my task manager earlier, and it showed 2 Task Schedulers running at the same time. Then, I just checked again and there is a third.

Task Manager shows Disk at 100% but only a couple on tasks show any HDD activity.
I assume that there are hidden processing eating up my HDD (and CPU).
How do I see what else is running?
I want to change WWAHost.exe on the 'Details' tab in Task Manager from 'Suspended' to 'Running', how do I do that? When I right click on the name I can't see anything on the menu that does this!
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm currently using my desktop computer as an host for about 7 VMware machines running at the same time.
I guess specs are included in the dump, but I'll put them here:
CPU: i7 2600k
SSD: samsung evo 840 120gb
RAM: 2x 4gb DDR3 1600mhz
GPU: nVidia 570 GTX
Currently under windows 8.1 final release build, with every last Windows updates available. (fresh install since yesterday)
After maybe 2 hours of somewhat intensive tasks, my computer restart itself saying : "Your PC ran into a problem" in the blue ribbon UI.
I have about 12 Crome Google threads running in Task Manager Processes. When I end one another starts. My CPU is running at 90 % to 100 %. How I can end whatever program is running that keeps spawning Crome Google processes? I have Windows 8 OS.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm currently running Windows 8.1 Update with an NVidia 660TI with two DVI monitors at 1920x1200 and a 1080p TV from the HDMI output. I'm having trouble with the 1080p TV in that when I drag an application (Store or Win32) onto the screen, the top and bottom is truncated when I maximise it. For example, if I drag Windows Media Player over to the TV and maximise it, the play, forward and rewind buttons when visible are cut in half at the bottom of the screen.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAs my machine doesn't support SLAT in HyperV I am using VMlite XP mode to run some 16 bit programs I need. Very occaisionally VMlite hangs on close after it has saved state or shutdown the guest machine.
I go to task manager and click end task on the Workstation GUI and it closes but very occaisionally end task wont closed the program. Sign off wont close the program either and restarting hangs at the blue screen 'restarting' I have to push the reset button on the tower to get the machine to restart.
Is there any hidden way of closing VMlite so I dont have to restart, a sort of hard end task?
Not sure if this is the right board, but I'm keen on accessing the aforementioned box directly rather going through task manager due to the run as admin check box, but I can't find the file location. I prefer using the run dialog usually to access apps because I could do without extra effort to merely SEARCH for apps. However I can't use it to run apps as admin (at least I've forgotten the line I might have used in vista and 7). Can the aforementioned box be accessed directly?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI built a computer recently. Since day one I get BSODs but the drivers, and Bug/Checks listed are never the same.I was thinking it couldn't be a single device or driver so I've:
Replaced the MOBO.
Repair Installed the OS.
Replaced the RAM.
It BSOD'd multiple times between each change.
The only things I've run are IE/FF and Ableton Live 9. Ableton is usually running during the BSOD but it was not the last time.
What the task "CreateObjectTask" is coming from? I can't find it anywhere.

First let me say, I rarely leave my 8.1 system running all night as I generally switch off before bed.
On the FEW occasions I leave the system running all night I always get the "Your computer is low on memory" warning.
For instance, yesterday my software RAID mirror was "Re-synchronizing" and I wanted it to complete syncing so I left it running. NOTHING was running except Disk Manager. I closed down everything else. No browser, no Skype, no directory utility, no paint, no uTorrent....
Sure enough when I woke up this morning there it was....
A few days ago I wanted a couple of torrents to keep downloading so I kept the desktop running. Again NOTHING else was running and in the morning there it was....
I have 16Gb of memory and my pagefile.sys is 42Gb. My OS disc is a 250Gb SSD. I have set my system to hibernate after 5 hours idle. I have set the screen/display to sleep after 30 minutes.
The system isn't asleep when I wake as moving the mouse immediately brings the display back on line. Checking Task Manager shows NO memory hogs.
What I suspect is after 5 hours the hibernation process denies access to memory requests or something?
The strange thing is millions of people on 8.1 must leave their systems running all night but I have seen no mention of this behaviour.
I was just surfing Google and all of a sudden task manager poped up? I didnt ctrl-alt-delete or anything it just randomly poped uped on my screen without me doing anything. Im on windows 8...

View 8 Replies View RelatedI noticed that wsappx is occasionally consuming non-trivial amounts of my CPU.
Searching the internet, I learn that wsappx is not necessary for operation of my PC. One user suggests killing it via task manager.
When I tried to end the task I got a scary warning along the lines of "may render Windows unusable" I probably did not record the message accurately, and wsappx seems to have (temporarily?) gone away on its own.
disabling or uninstalling this task?
I use a wireless mouse - the Lenovo laptop touchpad and my thumbs screw up my typing at the most inopportune moments. I try to manually disable it at login, but forget. I can permanently disable the touch pad easy enough in its configurations, but sometimes, I do need to enable it - usually just temporarily.
I can make tasks easy enough. Is there a simple way I could make a task at login to disable my Synoptics TouchPad.. Keystroke combo is Fn+F6 to enable / disable it.
How do I get those keystrokes into a task ?
I should have had an automatic system restore backup today (It's been 7 days since the last system backup). It didn't happen, so I checked the Task Scheduler, and I see that System Restore task last ran yesterday morning at 8:46. Why didn't it run this morning?
View 9 Replies View RelatedWell basically I download a lot of junk which I forget to delete, so I want to create a task that automates deletion of the files each month, I know you can do it through the Task Scheduler, but I do not know the specific steps for what I want to do.

How to get rid of it?
Why the pc isn't waking when a task is scheduled to wake it? It sleeps, S3, I can wake with the power button, and can WOL, but a task set to wake it is not working. Allow wake timers is enabled in power configuration, and BIOS settings are correct as it woke up when had Win7 installed.
I've set a task manually, and used an alarm program that wakes it, but neither work, what can I check to resolve this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedSince yesterday, I cannot open any folder on my PC and when I try to open task manager to close explorer, it closes right away.
When I try to open any folder (This PC or Downloads for example) my background flashes black, then the task bar goes blank and then nothing happens. When I try to open the task manager, it opens for 2 seconds and then closes itself down. All my files are still accessible since I am able to still play movies from WMP and I can still search from the Start screen.
I do not want to format my PC just to get something like this working again.
OK, I've noticed that what's happening is, explorer.exe pretty much restarts every time I try to open a folder. And that obviously stops the folder I'm trying to open, from opening. What's happening with task manager.
I just got a new laptop with an i7-4700mq in it.. 4th gen Intels.. what does task manager performance tab show? Mine shows the processor at 1% usage, but the speed up at 3.2 GHz which is turbo boost speed I think..
See attached picture for what I mean. I just remember my previous laptop (i7-740qm) would show it throttling right down to less than 1GHz when nothing was happening. I have the latest drivers.
my computer is overclocked with software set to run using the Task Scheduler. It is set to run at startup, but with "fast startup", the program doesn't launch. How can I make this overclock program run at startup without sacrificing "fast startup".
View 1 Replies View RelatedHow to start application with Task Scheduler?
I want to start two applications at windows start-up, but the application need administrator's privilage could not start at start-up directory or registry. I've heard these applications can start at windows start-up with Task Scheduler.
Following this Windows 8.1 refuses to sleep thread I went to look for the task mentioned and I see no tasks have run. It has been this way since day one of this computer and doesn't matter what time period I select (last hour, 24h, 7 days, 30 days).
Why would it show no tasks, when clearly I have some set to run and they do run and complete? Plus there are other tasks that I didn't set that run as well.
how do I add a program to the Task Manager in 8, that will start when the machine start?

I am able to log in to the main user of the computer, but when I do, it brings me to a black screen with a blue task bar. I am able to use ctrl alt del and get into task manager, which is opened in the screen shot. Nothing else works. I was also able to get into windows boot manager once by pressing f8 and selecting boot manager, but since running a repair, it no longer works. When I click boot manager, it just starts the computer up like normal.
The computer did not come with a windows 8 dvd.
I am able to open a document using task scheduler in my Windows XP machine, but not in my Windows 8.1 machine or my daughters Windows 8 machine. Is this a Windows 8 bug?
I am able to open the document by hand, but when I wait for the time that Task Scheduler has assigned to open the document, nothing happens. On the other hand when I do the same thing in my XP machine it opens correctly at the assigned time.
I have cleaned my computer completely and reloaded the original operating system then upgraded to Windows 8.1 but it didn't do anything to solve the problem.
