Apps / Software :: Net 3.5 Fails Online And Offline?
Aug 21, 2013
Net Framework 3.5 failing to install.
installing from Control Panel > Programs and Features ("online install")offline install via DISMthird party utilities that provide an interface for DISM, hoping to prevent typing errorscopying the /sources/sxs to the C: drive and trying all the above again.
What I have not done is refreshing, resetting or reinstalling. I've put too much work into setting up Windows 8.
There is one constant in every attempt: the returned error code is 0x800F0922. However, I cannot find an explanation for this error code. Every reference I have found to this error code doesn't explain the error code, but instead provides one of the solutions for installing .net 3.5 which I've already tried.
I am now at a dead end. I cannot install .net 3.5 by any method posted here, and I cannot find an explanation for why I cannot install. I think my best, last course of action is to somehow find out the meaning of 0x800F0922
EDIT - Here is an excerpt from my DISM log (with emphasis added):
Encountered the option "featurename" with value "NetFX3"
Encountered an unknown option "featurename" with value "NetFX3"
Encountered the option "source" with value "D:sourcessxs"
My friend recently bought a Windows 8 (Pro) Tablet and I suggested that she should use skydrive, but there are two unexpected behaviours:
1)On the Mordern UI I try to access files saved in the skydrive, but this only works with an internet connection.Without I only got an error/warning message that I need a connection. Why there are no data sored offline? This is a no go!How can I change this?
2)On the Desktop I don't found the folder where to store the skydrive data.I think this is a problem in connection with no (1).
I have Windows 8 x64 Enterprise installed and activated through online kms server. my internet is connected and i can browse through my explorers. Some apps such as Mail and internet explorer and store work just fine, but others such as bing and pictures says that i am offline.
I just got a Toshiba Encore tablet that has some form of GPS capability. I need some sort of GPS app or software that I can use offline, or at least figure out how to pre-load areas for offline use.
just installed x64 version of windows 8 after i realized i have x64 based processor.before i had x86 version of windows 8 & i can enable net framework by using this command >>
F is my dvd drive letter but now it's not enabling because i have x64 version. i want to enable it in offline mode because my net is very slow & limited tell me how to enable it in offline mode? my DISM log >>
I have Windows 8 and use classic live Messenger 2012, it connects good but all contacts appear offline, trough Windows 8 messaging all contacts ok, connected and talking.
I tried with built in Windows 8 messaging application connected and disconected but same result. If I connect to other account with live Messenger 2012 all works ok, but with the account that is configured like Windows 8 logging account, don't, it connects but all contacts shown offline.
ALT-TAB is not working when I am playing online games (Crossfire -develop by SmileGate/Neowiz) and Steam-DOTA2. I just experience it when I upgrade from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1. Is there a workaround on this? I don't want to go back to Windows 7 or 8
I have a subscription to Office 365 Small Business Premium. The install on my Windows 7 64 Bit machine went fine a has been working great for about 3 weeks now. I was at the office yesterday and for some reason Word 2013 fails on startup. It starts up, I select the blank page option and then it fails. It calls home (to Microsoft?) and tells me they will let me know when they have a solution. This is a small business how long am I supposed to wait for their solution? I need a solution now for Word 2013 now.
Everything else still works, Outlook 2013, Excel 2103. etc. I am thinking of removing this machine from the subscription and uninstalling Office 2013 and then downloading and installing it again.
Any easier way to get this Word 2013 functioning again
A coworker spent the entire day getting a Windows 8 machine up and ready for imaging. As part of the process, he went ahead and let it update the metro apps from the store.
Big mistake: Apparently updating Metro apps breaks sysprep;
Sysprep giving "fatal error" -- but *only* after updating Metro apps?
Here is a KB article on the issue;
Removing or Updating Windows 8 built-in Windows Store apps causes Sysprep to fail
It's even being reported that simply "opening" a metro app will cause sysprep to fail on Windows 8; Techy Geeks Home: SCCM capture of Windows 8 fails during Sysprep stage - Fatal error occurred while trying to sysprep the machine.
Win 8 fails to load 2 apps on initial start up. Razr Game Booster and Acronis Scheduler. If I do an immediate Re Start both apps will load correctly. SFC tells me no problems. Event log says Acronis failed to start, nothing listed for Razr app.
Each time I attempt to install or update through the app store I receive error message 0x80072ee4 or 080073cff. I tried:
1. Performing a clean boot. (Disabling all non-microsoft services and startup items) 2. Using the SFC /SCANNOW option to verify the integrity of windows files. 3. Clearing C:/Users/Myusername/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Windows Store and C:/Users/Myusername/AppData/Local/Package to clean the cache files. 4. Clearing C:/Windows/SoftwareDistribution and restarting the Windows Update service. 5. Verifying that all windows services are running. 6. Disabling NIS 2013 7. Running troubleshooter
Nothing works. Don't tell me to run the windows restore function.
1. I don't consider that to be a genuine solution. (What if the same thing happens again?) 2. I don't plan on reinstalling all 50 non-windows app store applications.
I have been having this issue for awhile, I can't search or go to websites with certain words in the name. This occurs on all browsers and search engines. I have looked over all safety settings. Words along the lines of "sex, gun, porn, murder, assault, etc." are blocked. I get a "Cannot display this webpage" kind of error. Something interesting is I can search for the word "guns" but not the word "gun".
I've just worked with a friend set up his new Windows 8.1 Asus desktop. When we open the OneDrive folder using File Explorer, next to each file it says "Online only". On his old Windows 8 computer, it says "Available offline" next to each file. Is there someplace we need to change a setting to make the files available offline on the new computer?
I have recently purchased an Acer Aspire running Windows 8 and use Outlook as may email facility.
My previous laptop ran on Vista and I was able to see my email folders and work on them offline when no network was available - I could prepare email drafts and save them for sending when connected. I do not seem to be able to do this now.
I have been running 8.1 for a while - after a major crash a couple months back where I had to re-install the entire operating system, that has not happened again - but the computer does crash/re-boot itself fairly regularly. Luckily reboots are fast and painless. I have done a dump with SF that I will attach.
I use the firewall Online Armor from Emisisoft. It works perfectly on windows 7 but when I installed it on win 8 I cannot access internet. During the installation it asked to install some kind of network so I allowed it and also added emisisoft to the trusted vendors on win 8. So is there any way to remove Emisisoft from trusted vendors list on win 8?
My computer has been crashing mostly while playing Guild Wars 2 and Archeage. It will crash, go to a weird colored screen, and I have to manually shut it off. I did a memtest and everything checked out, and I also tried switching the power supply out with one that wasn't having any problems and that didn't work either. I've also tried playing the games on the lowest settings and it still doesn't really work.
Internet worked fine for about a week until I started watching shows online and using a lot more data then suddenly I could no longer visit sites or use web based programs even though 8 says its still connected to the internet
If I restarted my computer it would work for maybe an hour then would happen again it seemed like if I deleted my cookies it would work for a longer period of time. If i reset the router or modem it would work for a bit as well. it has gotten so bad it stops working after about 30 seconds of usage now but after clicking my wifi connection and clicking reset estimated usage I was able to get about 20 minutes
If I plug into Ethernet into it instead of wifi it works for a while then has same issue I've also tried it on 4 seperate networks all were using the same model router ive since upgraded to a better router issue stays the same. Ipconfig sees the gateway and has an ip address but if I try to ping out or even to ping the router itself it times out Reinstalling windows 8 started the issue over could use the Internet heavy at first then progressively less as time went by No antivirus software, disabled firewall, disabled protective mode, all updates are done, did the netsh winsock reset
I bought a ASUS laptop last year w/8 on it. No media. I upgraded to 8.1 recently through the Store. I didn't seem to have an option. All went fine and a few weeks ago I started getting this popup, usually several times a day
SystemExplorer.exe - Bad Image
C:WINDOWSSysem32VSSVC.EXE is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. Error status 0xc0000020.
I've tried googling portions of the error and all I saw was to run sfc /scannow, which I did with these results
Beginning system scan. This process will take some time. Beginning verification phase of system scan Verification 100% complete. Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.
What can I do now to fix what is broken and stop the popups? Is this a f/p that will self correct as I get updates from Microsoft? 8.1 seemed to fix 2 problems I had: laptop would shut off periodically and battery never said 100% Fully Charged.
My hard drive crashed on my Windows 7 (work) laptop, so I've loaded Windows 8 on a new hard drive in the machine.
Everything is working as expected for a new OS (I'm still getting used to it), except that I can't connect to EVE online.
I've checked firewall settings. I've added ports 26000 and 3724 rules to the Windows firewall, but still cannot connect.
I can ping 87.237.38.200, but I cannot telnet to 87.237.38.200 26000 or 3724. I'm an IT consultant, so I have access to the firewall at my office, but I don't see any rules prohibiting those ports. I have also tried adding a rule to allow them, but no dice, and the game worked 2 days ago when my system had Windows 7 on it.
A tracert to 87.237.38.200 works fine and nothing is over 250ms which according to the documentation [URL] ...... I've read is the threshold.
The game is up to date, I've tried clearing the game's cache.
So unless I'm missing something, I'm left to believe there is some weird setting in Windows 8 that is stopping me from connecting/telneting to the server.
Any update resolving the network printers becoming offline. I cannot remove-add the same printers again and again specially for the people i support in our office.
Epson WF 2540 keeps going offline every time my Dell XPS 13 running Windows 8 goes to sleep. Am looking to see what I need to change in the software to keep this from happening. It will go back online after sometime or I have to go and turn it off to get it back online.
how can i update (offline / stand-alone) windows 8 x64 SL (Single Language) to windows 8.1 ?
I am using windows 8 SL (Single Language) x64.
I want to update it to windows 8.1 (offline / stand-alone)
how can i do it ??
i already downloaded these much files(see img) from officially released by microsoft from (Download Windows 8.1 Update for x64-based Systems (KB2919355) from Official Microsoft Download Center)
I have a valid activated 8.1 Pro + W M C system and need to do several re-installs on the same partition and hardware to test some unattended scripts for customization, etc.
When I re install, there is no network connectivity until I install the proper drivers. I am currently replacing the install data. that and token data with the activated versions from my original install, after which I run slmgr. -i p k with the original key without any errors, but the system shows not activated. I don't remember this being the case with Win 8 doing the same thing.
Apparently, just restoring the activated tokens and installing the same product key isn't enough to get back the previous activation status when offline. I can reactivate going online and that stays activated even after going back offline, but not after a re-install. I always have to reactivate online. How to avoid this?
After installing Windows 8 in most cases you have to install .Net Framework 3.5 to be able to install or run some 3rd party application. Recently while browsing the internet I came across an offline installer; one that worked perfectly and was very easy to use.
