Their is a weird folder named "WINDOWSTEMPDIR_FONTCONFIG_CACHE" in my Pictures Library. After searching I haven't been able to determine what this folder is for or why it was created. Is it OK to delete it or should I move it, leave it alone or what?
I have win 7 home, but xp in my work. I do a lot of screenshot and then paste them in paint to modify. I hate win xp paint and love win 7 paint. How can i get it for xp

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a legal (semi) fresh install of Windows 7 and when I open this PNGfrom Wikipedia my computer plays games. Task manager reports that when I just open the image and don't edit it at all that it uses almost 400MB of RAM.

Copying the image to clipboard uses another 400MB in the same thread. The image is only 3MB. I had Windows ask for more RAM (4GB DDR3 1600) when I had the same image open twice and had copied the image from one Paint to the other. Paint works fine normally:

Recently Paint will no longer save any pictures I re-size. I can find no explanation and I have no idea how to go about fixing it. Would a simple re- install of the software work?
If yes, where would I get it? I have looked but it is dreadfully confusing.
i want to use a jig saw to cut out a window in the side of my phantom, the hole will be where the 230mm goes. i wont be able to get c chanel to fit because the angles are very abrupt, 90, 90, 45, and 135 degrees. the edges will be rounded, but not more than about 1/4-3/4 of an inch.
View 8 Replies View Relatedi have a toshiba satellite laptop l455d-s5976 with windows 7 home premium its only using 2.87 gb of 4 gb that i installed. it originally came with 2 gb. it uses a AMD sempron SI 42 2.10 ghz processor, i like to edit video and i thought getting more ram would help speed it up but i see that its not even using 3 gb of the 4. is there anyway to make it use more like 3 or so? because i read that i would have to get a 64 bit OS to use all the 4 gb.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI can't locate the executable for paint. I typed paint in search while in C: (system drive) with no success. Instead, it could find hundreds of files matching odd criteria, like if "paint" appeared in the name of the containing folder or in the file description, which is too advanced for a basic search.
And guess what -- the file with the actual name wasn't found. I checked in Organize > Folder and search options > Search > When searching non-indexed locations > Include system directories but in vain. It happened with files created by me as well. So, 2 questions arise, as simple as they can be:
1. How can I check the options to search for a file regular/hidden/system in regular/hidden/system directories?
2. Options for input words location: name/content (not interested in others), regardless of indexations (I don't want to change location indexations for these options to work).
I was wondering if it was possible to edit the Windows 7 Basic information in Control Panel. I wish to know if there are any tweaks or hacks available to do this, or what file(s) this information is stored in.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to remove several context menu items for some file types AND folders.I've noticed that the right-click context menus differ depending on the file type, and also the folder type, depending on what type of files are in the folder. I've search far and wide, and have not been able to find software that will let me edit the menus. I've tried ShellExView and ShellMenuView but they don't list any of the menu items I'm looking for. I've tried every other software I could find. Does anyone insight into this? Is it impossible to remove certain items?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI downloaded some photos from my SD card to a folder in Windows Explorer on an HP laptop running Windows 7. The files/photos are definitely on the hard drive and I can view them with the Picasa Photo Viewer (they're in Nikon's raw format, NEF).However, when I open both Picasa and Nikon's Capture NX2 to edit and convert to JPEG's, neither program recognizes the folder I saved the photos to. The new folder is not in the list of folders in the My Pictures library.
