View 9 RepliesI have been using Windows 7 since the past 2 months and it was a breeze.Yesterday my brother messed up something and formatted the windows so I had to do a re-install.
Now the problem is that I am not able to acheive the desired resolution as before, everything is showing quite stretched (as in wide than normal proportions). What I am looking for is a reslution of 1280 x 880 or 1440 x 990, but I am not able to coz there are no options though earlier it was working fine.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had this driver running on all 6 of the Dell laptops I've had over the years, and never seen this.
I just had the screen die on this laptop, so I've plugged in a monitor. But the only two resolution options are 800x600 and 1024x768. I've reinstalled the Intel driver a few times, and while it's installing, the screen flashes to the proper native 1280x1024 resolution for a brief moment, but then never offers it as an option when done.
I had partial success when I uninstalled the driver, allowing the default windows driver (vgapnp.sys) to take over. It gave me access to a wide range of resolution settings, but prevented standby/hibernation, and had no OpenGL support. Then it would be overwritten automatically by Windows with some other copy of the GMA driver every time I would restart. So it wasn't really working out.
I've now reinstalled again, and I'm hoping someone knows of a way to force the correct resolution. There must be a way. How could one of the most ubiquitous graphics chipset/drivers in existence be this broken?
By the way, this is a Dell D520 with a T7200, 4GB RAM, and 945GM chipset.
I was previously using XP SP3 on a intel 915GAV mobo. It installed the Intel Extreme Graphics which showed many resolutions for my monitor. After installing Windows 7 I only get 3 options of resolution. Any workaround for this? Cannot find any graphic drivers for this mobo.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Dell Optiplex GX260 system. I intalled Windows 7 Ultimate on that. The resolution of screen is fine but it is not supporting 1280 x 1024 resolution and videos are not playing properly. It was not taking audio drivers as well but when I ran the SoundMax drivers for XP in compatibility mode they were installed. But display drivers are not getting installed. I even tried the various driver from Nvidia for XP/Vista/Win 7, but none of them works.

View 7 Replies View Relatedi'm having trouble installing my HP Deskjet 1280 on windows 7, I have previously installed it on Vista with no problems, however now I seem to be having problems.
I do have the install Cd, but when inserted it gives me an error message saying to use the "add printer" option in control panel. But when i use this and select "have disk" it does not recognize a printer driver to install.
I just wanted to ask why i can't play some RTS games or any games in general in 1280 x 1024 resolution?
I use to have windows vista 64 and games could play on that resolution with out any problem but when i updated to windows 7 they stopped.
Is there something i have to install in order for this to work in windows 7?
P.S--I have already updated my drivers.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSee, I have a AM3+ motherboard, and currently a FX 6200 clocked at 4.2GHz, thing is, I feel when I try to play say BF3 on a 32 man server, My pc run's smooth, yet come to a 64 man server, My PC feels sluggish and well fails. Now I know Its going to effect my FPS and CPU usage with what settings in game am I running, well Ultra I don't use I mainly use a mix of medium and high, to Me its all about performance before eye candy, but BF3 seems to have no performance boost the lower I turn the settings down, I mean with one card I get 98-99% usage but in SLI I get 50% on each card with v sync disabled and on ultra I have even tried with settings on low and enabling v sync, lol that is just worse! I have been told the higher the settings, the higher the usage, and my cpu seems to be lagging behind.I know there is things to take into consideration like the Ram, Graphics, Hard drives, Lag ect, But I'm running two GTX 480's, 2 Velociraptor Hdd, 16GB Corsair Dominator Ram, a Corsair HX 1050w psu and Windows 8.Come January I'm planning a upgrade, but what My dilemma is should I move to Intel has I feel my issue is a major bottleneck with the 480's and my CPU, I don't want to buy a 200 cpu (8350) and a few months down the line have to invest in a Intel because the Pile driver has failed like the Bulldozer did! Or just upgrade to a Intel i5 or i7, I mainly game but do video work as well, even considering getting a i7 2600k or 2700k,
