Sep 21, 2009My wife is a teacher and has a laptop that is supplied to her by the school. She uses it a lot to do a good majority of her work from home after school hours... overworked and under paid.Our problem is that the school has loaded the laptop up with Windows 7. This is a problem becasue as of 9/21/2009 HP does not yet have a Windows 7 driver listed for our HP Laserjet 2100M printer.Does anyone know of a solution for this or if HP plans to release a driver for their HP Laserjet 2100M printers around or shortly after the offical release of Windows 7?

Jan 9, 2012I get as far as connecting USB - Windows acknowledges the connection but then never finishes the installation. Downloading and installing a driver from HP site didn't help.Know that I had originally following HP's instructions and attempted install w/o CD and with the printer USB connected during first installation. This failed same as all subsequent installs. I'm also running XP mode on this machine but had not started XP at the time of printer install.

Aug 5, 2009I am using Windows 7 and when i plug the printer in , it just adds it to the "Unspecified" devices list.I downloaded the drivers , ran them in Vista compatibility mode , and it gets to this "EZ installer" part and then it just says something like make sure that the device is visible or something and then it repeats the same thing after like a half a minute and then it says that the operation has failed.I tried removing the "unspecified device" from device manager and then running the driver installation again but then windows tries automaticly to install it on its own but it fails saying that the driver was not found and at the same point the Ez installer freezes up.
