Am using dell inspiron laptop with windows 7 home premium 64 bit , i have a free wifi in our collage when i give connect it was getting connected but there is no internet access i had tried with trouble shoot it was giving problem regarding DNS
I have had this computer for about three years and I am getting my internet service through Verizon. Three days ago I got a message that my brouser address could not be found because I am working offline. I went to tools click working offline, the red X appeard and try to get back on the internet. I have not been able to get connect since. I have contacted Verizon tech and went through all the steps with them, still no connecton. They told me it was a microsoft problem. I contected microsoft troubleshooting online service. I went through all the steps with them.I even paid $200.00 for IYOGI tech support. They say I might need a new modem.
I am running a modem and wireless router which is working fine. I have my home computer up and running (Windows 7)- no problems at all. However, my work laptop (windows 7 professional) will connect to my wireless network but will not 'access' the internet. I have set up a connection from scratch; changed the network settings; restarted (everything) plugged in wth Ethernet cord; run a router check... and honestly I am way out of my league in figuring this one out.I tried several of the solutions for forum threads around the problem of 'connected to internet but no internet access', but part of my confusion is that one computer works fine, but the other simply won't allow access. When I use a when I use an open network it won't allow me on at all. But when I set up my private network it will connect and show internet access for 10 SECONDS at a time and then No access... like a constant flicker...
I've had a problem for the past few months trying to get my Internet to work. The wireless works fine with my phone, other computers, installed Ubuntu on my comp, etc. The only place it seems to not be working is in my windows. I'be checked out a few videos and can't seem to find the exact solution. I'm thinking it may be a virus, but the avast antivirus "quick check" didn't find anything of that sort. In the device manager under Network Adapters, there are two links that each have a yellow 'i' symbol. When I troubleshoot with windows it says there are no issues. When I go to 'Change adapter settings' there are no adapters available such as the LAN, etc.
i have a problem with my internet. Not sure if its my laptop or my internet. But when i turn on my laptop the internet works for a couple min. or hours or so then after that there will be a yellow triangle with a exclamation mark in the middle. Not sure why that happens. But if you guys have ideas that i can try out then that would be great! I tried /release & /renew but that didn't do anything. Also disabled and enabled the network adapter but that didn't work either. I am using a Ralink RT5390 802.11b/g/n WiFi adapter.(If that helps with anything) I am using a windows 7 hp laptop. If you guys have anyway to fix this then please tell me! Its been like that after 5 weeks i got my laptop.
I inserted a blank CD to add music into, using iTunes 10 (maybe 11).It did the job but all of the music were incomplete and the lengths were like 8 or 6 seconds.I tried to format the CD but it didn't work. Then I got angry and smashed the keyboard, and it froze.I force shut the laptop WITH THE CD STILL INSERTED and ejected it, then turned it on again.Windows started Startup Repair and it finishes, then restarted. And again Startup Repair ran again, then it told me it can fix the problem in a new dialog box.My computer is not connected to the Internet and I'm using a substitute computer to type this.A box in the dialog box showed the following text: [code] I closed the dialog box and it told me: (translated from Japanese, may not be that accurate.)
If you connected devices such as cameras or portable music players to this computer, please ejected them and then restart the computer. If this message keeps appearing, please ask the administrator or the manufacturer of the computer. Then I click Finish to restart. And again Startup Repair showed up, and the same message showed up.I clicked something like Show Restore System Option to restore the system, but it says the restore point is broken during restoration, and when I try to restore the system again, it still doesn't work.
I just installed windows 7 home premium 64 bit, but for some reason, icant browse the Internet even though I'm connected. Ie thinks I'm not connected and nothing happens on firefox. I've tried the troubleshooter, disconnected and reconnected to the wireless network, and restarted my computer. Nothing changes.
I don't know if this is relevant but I got Microsoft tech support to help me download the file since I was having difficulties, and he somehow managed to disable all 3rd party programs. I'm not sure if that's related to this situation, and I don't know how to enable the programs again...
Is it possible to have a computer connected to a LAN (via a router/switch) but not connected to the Internet, being that the Internet signal comes via that router/switch?
I have however recently bought a brand new laptop with win 7 pre-installed which seems to have a similar problem as the desktop. The difference is that the connection is more sporadic it may be fine for a hour or two then the connection shows a yellow warning sign and says ' no internet access' . During this time the internet is unavailable.
Recently purchased a new hp envy 14 beats edition, I am unable to get access to the internet. My network sharing center tells me i am connected to the internet, but right below it says "no internet access" and my wireless connection strength bar on the bottom right hand side has a exclamation mark inside a yellow triangle on it. I have another windows 7 computer, 2 smart phones and Xbox live running on this connection with no issues. I have tied the new HP at my parents house along with several friends and the same thing happens. It will connect occasionally but for no longer than 5-8 minutes getting worse if i try to stream or download. (Does this on my wireless as well)All software and hardware updates have been done every update possible including firmware for my modem (there wasn't one but i verified). I sent the computer back to hp for them to change the wireless card, but when i got it back to confirm the work had not been done. So in frustration i demanded a new computer and got one.
To my unpleasant surprise right out of the box the new laptop (same exact model and specs) had the EXACT same problem...Now i do still have the original laptop as well, because i refuse to return it until my problem is fixed. Both laptops connect and function flawlessly to the internet when i connect through an ethernet cable. I have also tried different browsers as well with still no luck (explorer and google chrome)
I've been having trouble with my PC for quite a while now, and have been looking for a fix for a long time. When I'm using my computer every so often I will get random lag spikes, that last for around 2-5 seconds. When it happens everything slows down, and the sound sounds like a broken CD/DVD where it goes all choppy.Recently I was staying at a friends house, where my computer wasn't connected to the internet, and while I was there I didn't have the problem at all, so I think it's something to do with being connected to the internet.
My laptop was running fine, but for a couple days it starting acting up. It says that I'm connected but it doesn't load anything. I've unplugged and replugged every cord from both my router and modem, and it's not my laptop because I took it to a friend's house and it worked fine there. I've defragged and scanned and cleaned out my disk, but it still doesn't work. I ran troubleshooter and it said that nothing's wrong.
Im trying to download a software from the internet but when I get to the point where the prgram is being "runned" I get a message saying, "Unable to download this program from the internet check that you are connected to the internet" although I AM connected to the internet this problems continues to pop up. I've tried enableing my download setting in the internet options but nothing seems to work.
Currently my internet is not working but was fine for the pass few weeks. The problem im having is that the wifi works for Iphone but not my laptop. Im able to connect to my housemate wifi , just now the free wifi that was provided by the owner. Is there any reason why my laptop wifi isnt working for this connection but works for other wifi connection ?
I have a Dell Inspiron 15 Laptop. It always works great except for one problem I have had from the beginning. When I am at some place like Starbucks or the Library and want to use the internet, my computer will show me the list of "Wireless Network Connections" available and I can click on the library for example and it will connect just fine. It will show the word "Connected" under the "Library" connection. But it will also say "No Internet Access". This happens anytime I go to a free wifi hotspot. I have learned that there is an additional login required. So for the library I would have to pull up my browser, go to their website and find their login. The problem with this is that sometimes you don't know the URL to their website so you can't login. there is some setting on my computer I can change to make the login screen come up automatically or even bypass this option. When I use these wifi hotspots with my phone or Google Nexus I never have this problem.
win 7 64 bit. all drivers updated with all microsoft updates applied. I have a Clear 4G modem.Strong signal. Other devices may connect and browse. The asus will browse great with good speed then suddenly not use the intenet. At first I thought it was a modem issue. Tried flushing the dns and winsock blah blah. Only a restart will resolve the issue.sometimes only for a minute sometimes I can go days with no problem. I have AVG protection and have run the malware tool. Oh, can ping websites thru cmd with zero loss
I connect to my home wifi and it says connected, but there is no internet connection.I noticed that network adapter shows "wireless network connection 2" with that "2" at the end of name. I guess there is a problem. If I rename it to just "wireless network connection" it says it already exists. But cannot see it, and use it! Can anyone tell me how to reset it or somehow switch to "wireless network connection" without "2"?
Also when I type ipconfig/all I get this:
------------------ C:Usersuser>ipconfig/all Windows IP Configuration Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : user-PC
So here is the deal: about 6 months ago I purchased a brand new laptop and connected it to my DLink router that has been working on our PC for about 3 years now. I also have 2 Playstations and 2 other laptops connected to the D Link (all of which are working fine and NEVER have any problems whatsoever). About 3 weeks ago, I turned my laptop on and tried going online, but much to my surprise, it couldnt connect. Its supposed to automatically connect, but this time it didnt. I figured I would manually connect it. I opened up the window that displays all the routers that the laptop is picking up and i saw my D Link so I try to connect. It attempts, then says "connected" and the after 3 seconds or so, it says "Limited Access". I thought it was a problem with the internet so I checked the other laptops in the house and the Playstation and they are all working fine. I figured it was my laptop so I shut it off and restarted it but it did not work. Next, I tried unplugging the router and waited for 2 minutes or so and plugged it back in. Yay! It worked! I solved the problem! I began surfing the internet for a couple hours when, BAM! It suddenly went out again. I figured I would unplug the router once again to see if it was just some kind of glitch and would work fine this time. I unplug it and repeat the process over again. after 2 hours, it goes out. Everything else in this house seems to be working just fine on the router with no problems whatsoever, except mine. I have not messed with any of the configurations because I have not idea where to even begin so I know it cant be with the configurations. My laptop is new with windows 7, I'm using xfinity as a provider.
Side note- I did a test and when I cant connect to the internet with my laptop it fails a "PING" test (no idea what that is), but when I unplug and plug up the router and the internet is fine on the laptop, it will pass the "PING" test.
I custom built my computer and I am having problems with intermittent freezing. The computer freezes every second or two when I am connected to the wireless internet.; however, sometimes I can be connected to wireless and it works just fine. If I disconnect my wireless connection my computer works fine. My computer is running windows 7 professional and the wireless driver is up to date.
I'm a windows 7 32 bit user. I have problem that i can't browsing. From what I check the default gateway have different value with the DHCP server value.
Ok so I have a fairly new computer that had Vista on it. I got the free upgrade and upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium. I've been using 7 for about 3 weeks now with no problems at all. Then out of nowhere approx 3-4 days ago, the internet doesn't seem to want to cooperate. Once in a while web pages wouldnt load and now most of the time my browser will fail to load any pages. I called my ISP tech support and everything is fine on their end, and I can confirm that I am indeed connected because I can play multiplayer games, use utorrent and occasionally msn messenger.I've tried both Firefox 3.5.5 (default) and IE 8. It appears that there is some conflict somewhere that is denying me internet access. I need this resolved ASAP since most of my school notes are online and it's midterm/finals time.
While talking to tech support I was advised that restoring windows to a backup may solve the problem. So I did that with a backup that was 3 days old and it worked for maybe an hour then I had the same problem.I should also note that I am NOT using wireless. I have a wired cable connection. When the browser does decide to work, I find that it is very slow. Even my download speeds on utorrent have decreased drastically.
My wifi at work will recognize the wireless network and says it's connected. Yet there is no internet. So I use the Ethernet cable and internet works. My wifi connects immediately on my home wifi router with no issues. I had wireless working flawlessly last week, but all this week it won't connect.
My Desktop is connected to my router vie WiFi and it says I have connection to the Internet. However, i cannot access any website, be it by typing in the name or the IP address. At the same time, I can ping all websites. I can find them via tracert, which also nicely resolves the IP adresses of any sites I type in. I also tried two different WiFi dongles (Cisco and D-Link) both have identical problems.I reset the winsocket and i tried to log in as another user - to no avail. To make things even stranger, I cannot even access the router (192.168.1.1), but i CAN access the NAS connected to the router (192.168.1.100).The laptop which is connected to the router via WiFi has no troubles accessing either the router or the outside world so I am fairly certain that the problem lies with my computer and not with the access point. My computer gets his IP via DHCP (fixed on 105) and is within the same subnetmask as the router and has the routers IP adress as standard gateway (all that via dhcp).
