friends laptop that freezes after boot, win and safe mode, looks like a new malware.Screen goes white, CRL/ALT/DEL still brings up "security screen" but choosing "start task manager" sends you back to white screen. Screen has no icons or task areas but box is not realy frozen: mouse is visible and moves normaly. A custom sound is played on first press of CTL or ALT keys but displays nothing. After about 2 minutes the screen displays the desktop background for 2 seconds and return to blank white. The behavior started after the owner visited his home town paper website in BC canada. No way to gain control and make changes that will last after reboot.
I am using a shuttle xpc St20g5 with windows 7 pro, when I'm on either Chrome,IE or Firefox suddenly it crashes with usually a white screen and there's nothing i can do so i have to reset.
My Toshiba laptop was recently upgraded (clean install) of windows 7 Ultimate -64 bit. It worked perfectly fine and fast.. now it jst freezes after windows 7 loads. It starts up normally and then when all the Icons are refreshing (turn into white paper icons) it freezes along with the mouse. Can't do anything but turn off. It always happens. I can boot onto safe mode fine.
Im having screen freezes every couple of days. My whole computer just freeze what its doing.Been
-on word -on a game -watching movies -transfering data
So no specifi thing sets it off.Cant alt-cnt-delete.Its like a screen shot of my computer and watching a picture. Cant even move the mouse. My keyboard can change colours via buttons on it (logitech g110). I cant even change the colours coz its like the whole pc is in a time freeze..Due to this i dont get an "windows had an unexpected error" message when i restart the computer...
Basically this white screen (sometimes with blue lines running down sometimes without) has been appearing on startup. At first it just appeared in place of the windows logo before log in, but now it's appearing earlier on and the only way to bypass it is to hit the power button and hope it loads up properly. I've tried disabling/uninstalling the display driver and this has either (a) caused the laptop to crash to the white screen or (b) nothing, just back to white screen appearing at intervals.

My apologies if this is an old topic. I browsed a few likely-looking threads but did not immediately see what I was looking for.I have a Dell Inspiron PC which came with the Windows 7 operating system. If more details about my computer are necessary, a bit of direction I'm good at following directions but I'm by no means a computer wizard. When I start the computer it starts normally, no weird messages during startup. The logon screen shows up as normal, and I key in my password and tap enter. I see the word "Welcome" as usual, but it seems to be "thinking" much longer than normal before logging me on all the way. Instead of my normal background I see a completely white screen without any icons or taskbar. I can see my cursor though. After a moment or two, my regular background appears and all seems to be normal. I ran my virus scan (Webroot), and that came up with no results. Not sure what to do next.
I'm running Windows 7 64 bit. Following a recent restart, windows would load to a white desktop (or black in safemode) and a missing taskbar. The desktop, apart from being completely white, can't be interacted with (no drag and pull boxes). The taskbar is gone and the windows key won't bring up the start menu.I can still access the task manager and have used that to navigate through my documents and to access my web browser (hence my being here now). Because I can still access and run everything through the task manager and command window, I haven't lost any utility, but I'd like my taskbar and desktop back.
So my friend has a computer with vista and was running alright until one day it started up with a completely white screen from boot and that is all it shows now. It's a Toshiba and has a horrible copy of Spy sweeper AV that is perpetually hung.
I have desktop PC with GA-MA69GM-S2H motherboard, 4gigs ram, integrated relatek sound and ATI radeon x1250
problem:
After restart win is loading properly until logon screen..... there is no logon screen!!! only flat white, nothing more. But when I type my password it's continues loading.
I've been trying to instal Ati latest drivers but i have errors while installing.
Recently I've been experiencing a white screen after I log in. It appears for about 2 minutes and then everything loads as normal, but everything does seem a little slow.
I got the white screen a few times, tried to boot in safe mode but it got stuck at 'classpnp.sys'. My laptop is working as normal right now, I left the white screen and it finally showed my desktop, but should I be worried about these white screens?
I'm using an asus a52f with 3gb ram. Sorry if this isn't enough info, I'll try to give any more details if you need them.
I have recently purchased an Acer Veriton X275 with Windows 7 Professional and I am experiencing a nuisance issue. The screen background changes from near white to grey either, after a time lapse or on depression of keyboard key. This can be temporarily rectified by switching the monitor off and then on and, occasionally, by depressing Ctrl/Alt/Del, entering Task Manager and then cancelling. It seems as though a screen energy saver is operating but I am unable to locate it to extend the period before it cuts in.
When using my dell laptop, the screen will get quick tiny color lines and then go white blank and the only way to get it back up is to close my computer and wait about 2 minutes and sometimes I have to do this several times. This usually only happens if my computer is not plugged but also happens when it is just not as often.
I have found at least one other person that had a similar problem, but the information you provided for that problem doesn't seem to fit my symptoms. That person was seeing the message "please wait while connection is being established", I am not getting any messages, just a flashing black to white screen that stays white.
When booting, my screen will flash white. If the boot is successful, which is less than 50% of the time,I then see the loading windows screen and the computer goes ahead and boots normally. But, more often than not, I never see the booting windows screen and the monitor will just flash from black to white, several times, and then stays white. I do get the windows music to indicate that the boot was successful, but I can only see a blank white screen, no icons or mouse cursor. If I press the power button a couple of times, the system will usually eventually give me a screen that looks like the system was paused and is waiting for a user to be selected and a password to be entered. Once I am able to access the system, it seems to work normally. I have waited as long as 15 minutes or so to see if the boot will complete once I get the white screen, but it never seems to go any further.
I have checked for a virus using my virus checker, Viper antivirus, and checked for malware using malware bytes, but can find nothing. I even started a boot log to see if I could see any indication in the log file, but I can see nothing.
when i'm on my computer, sometimes it just crashes and turns white or gray. the last time this happened, i had a bluetooth adapter (asus usb-bt211) plugged in from earlier in the day. i unplugged it and the screen immediately turned pitch black, presumably off.when this happens, i have absolutely no control over my computer. i cant open task manager or ctrl +alt+delete. i've searched this and so far i've only gotten that its a ram problem, but i don't think it is in my case. i say this because i have 8gb and i constantly have task manager open and i've never seen over 50% used (except when on a game or using something like a screen recorder, and it has never crashed while doing those things)the weird thing is.. and this may just be a coincidence, but Internet has been open every time it has crashed (10+ times).
The digital river download manager shows as a white screen. While the top Title bar shows that a download is in progress and I have downloaded it 100%, I cannot continue or get passed this part because I cant see anything!
I have laptop with 1366x768 LED backlit monitor. I would like to ask, does it drain more energy if wallpaper is white, or it doesn't mater if your wallpaper is white or black, it still will drain same ammount of energy? (I am not talking about brightness, I am talking about colors).
When i start my laptop my icons and start menu disappear after about 1 second. My background disappears after about 15 seconds and i am left with a white screen and my cursor.
i have windows 7 64bit ultimate , and i am having a few problems with it .
basically when i log on , its just a white screen , so i cant see why i am typing. also , i have no sound at all , i have tried all different realtek drivers , and its not working .
A few days ago I made a clean wipe on my Toshiba laptop, and installed Windows 7 Home Premium x86 as my OS. After installing the OS on my laptop, I proceeded to let windows update check for automatic updates and install them. After installing some updates, I clicked to have my computer reboot. After rebooting it showed the Toshiba screen with the F2, F12 options but after that it goes straight to a black screen with a white underscore. I pressed the power button to turn off then back on my computer and proceeded to press first F2 but it went back to the black screen with a white underscore, then restarted again pressing F12 went to the black screen again, restarted one more time pressing F8 for safe mode but nothing works.
I have just had a blue screen and using samsung restore I did a basic restore of windows 7, It's seems to have fixed Windows but now when I try to use internet explorer it opens with the tool bars and I can use Google tool bar to search but the main screen is blank white.Additionally I thought it maybe a virus that caused the issue but when I have tried to update AVG the interface is not displaying properly and any buttons are completely blank and do not show any text.Thirdly any text in any program is in the same font (times new roman i think).I can connect to the internet fine with firefox but even with this the font is an issue and when trying to update avg using firefox the buttons on download process are blank
I have a HP netbook running Windows 7 Starter edition that I only had for about 2 months anyways this morning I started it up and got the HP logo screen briefly and then a black screen with a white cursor in the top left hand corner. I can get to the BIOS menu and I have tried restoring to default but that didn't do anything. I then unplugged ac adapter and battery and help power button down for a min. and then put battery and ac adapter back in and started it.
For the past few days my Laptop has been very slow to load up once I have logged in. Bootup seems to be fine until the user selection page. I then select my user ID and then log in. Once I hit the submit button the screen goes white and it takes a while to load up the desktopThe mouse is visible, but nothing responds. The Windows Key doesn't bring up the Start Menu or anything.CTRL+SHIFT+ESC brings up Task Manager which shows nothing untowards. On boot-up there is no peripherals installed on the laptop, just the Power Lead and WiFi is Active.I have updates on Automatic and Windows 7 is Genuine Home Premium. Here are the PC Specs[CODE]
My windows 7 professional 32bit on my laptop has a problem. Everytime I turn it on, my laptop screen is white (and fades in some hints of black) and nothing shows up. However, sometimes I am able to get a display on an external monitor.
Before my computer loads my desktop it does a startup repair. What ends up happening is that it does a system restore and my computer is able to boot up normally on my external monitor (laptop screen still white). Once everything loads, my computer automatically looks for and installs a VGA controller driver (at this point I am suspecting something may be wrong with my graphics card because I no longer have the windows aero theme).
Once the VGA drivers are installed, my computer says it has to restart so that changes can be made. After the restart, everything is back to normal with my laptop screen working again and now I have the aero theme again. What is the problem? I've been trying to fix this for weeks. It should be noted that I can't always get the display onto my external so I have to keep on force restarting (holding onto the power button) until I can get it on the external.
I installed a new driver for my graphics card and it hasn't fixed the problem. I know there is a virus on my computer (file is tdx.sys). I am going to replace that file with a new one following some instructions from another forum but I don't want to do that yet because I am currently writing exams and not much of a tech savvy person. I don't want to mess around with system files until at least after my exams so I can back up everything.
