A few hours ago I returned to my Dell laptop #1 to find that it had no wireless connectivity. It had wireless connectivity a couple hours earlier, as I was using it .there is nothing wrong with my modem /router, as I am sending this on Dell #2 which is connected wirelessly.I have had a new Windows 7 o/s installed in the past ten days or so. how to 'enable my wireless system'?
Windows 7’s new “play all” decoders, encoders and transcoding capabilities
"If you have had any theories Microsoft was conspiring with the media conglomerates to protect their interests and not the user’s, throw them in the bin, pour jet fuel and remotely detonate them since Microsoft can’t be any bolder than building in DivX and Xvid native support in Windows 7. Yes, all your favorite Family Guy episodes will play in Windows Media Player. Yes I’m looking at you. You may have also heard there’s also native H.264 and AAC support. But that’s not all. After all, decoding is only one part of the equation.
In a presentation titled “Video Improvements In Windows 7” at WinHEC 2008, Microsoft also revealed new encoding and similarly transcoding capabilities in Windows 7. The new “Media Foundation” decoders are as follows,
In Windows 7, encoding is extended to widely adopted MPEG-4 and 3GPP standards with H.264 video and AAC audio encoders built in, on top of the WMV, WMA and MP3 encoders built-in to Vista today - after all, hardly anyone uses Windows Media outside of the Microsoft ecosystem. Speaking of which the Zune even supports H.264 and AAC natively.
I have an MS windows 7 64 bit system. I used CCleaner to clean the registry but did not backup the changes. I have lost my media and video thumbnail view for my movie files with an avi extension. I use both winamp and a VLC media player to play my movies and tv programs.Could the registry cleaning have changed something and is there a way to get the thumbnails back?
I have a Dell Vostro 1500, running 32-bit Windows 7. It came with Vista, but I upgraded to Windows 7 a couple months ago, which I think is causing the issues I'm experiencing. According to whoever I'm speaking with, the sound for the microphone built in to my webcam fades in and out and gets really loud randomly. In an attempt to solve this, I bought an external microphone which also does not work. The sound driver is the SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC, version 126.96.36.19914. When I tried to update it through Windows 7's update driver software it says I have the best version for my system, but I still suspect that this could be what is causing the problem.
I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro C650 01301J laptop running Windows 7 Professional 32Bit. I try and listen to music either through spotify or simply using my library of music in Windows Media Player, however after a while the audio cuts out. It isnt muted in mixer and the song keeps playing as if nothing has happened, except I cant hear anything. This is fixed when I mute and unmute or turn the volume up or down using the fn keys. When I first start up the music it will take 5 minutes or so before it happens, however once it starts it will cut out every 10 seconds or so.
My audio driver is Conexant CX20671 SmartAudio HD version 188.8.131.52. I have tried deleting this and reinstalling it, downloading an older driver and updating it. It tells me it is the latest driver but its still not solved the problem.
Is there another driver I could try or perhaps a program that is causing it?

I have a HP Touchsmart 300-1060a (Home Premium Windows 7 64 BIT) which I bought few years back. Now for the last 6 months or so I started getting issues with my machine was not displaying anything at all after turning it on. So I had to hard reset my power from the machine and then was able to see it started displaying again. At first I suspected graphic card (NVIDIA GEFORCE) but then I did my diagnostic test and nothing was found. One day, I started re-imaging my machine as a fresh and then after this it never came back ONLINE. I read all HP forums & even HP Online support was unable to help me to find the cause.Because when I turn on my machine I can see the power light was on and could hear big fan noise but mo HDD activity at all.So at this stage, I suspected either motherboard or BIOS but wasn't 100% sure what could be the real cause because I was sure it was not due to graphic card.So first I re-setted by my BIOS to see if it helps but it didn't came up at all. So then I took my machine to a Computer repair shop (a friend of mine) and we detected it could be due to the regulator which supplies power to the CPU and motherboard. So we replaced that part and now my HP Touchsmart is running fin since then. But I have lost my HP Startup logo with options such as below: [code]
