I really need help I just got a new remote so I can FINALLY watch live-tv in wmc but after a few minutes the picture freezes and audio stutters.
I recorded scrubs and 8 minutes in the recording is nothing but a recording of a frozen green pixelated with audio that stutters like a scratched cd.
I can watch tv fine using mpc and vlc though the remote wont work. This doesn't happen with dvds files or netflix.
I bought a new computer last week & it's pre-installed with Windows 7. When I first put in my Mini TV DVB-T USB stick, Windows 7 found drivers for it and WMC recognised it and gave me instant TV to watch. However, just this last 2 days it all went sour. I still have the channels listed but on each one I get sound and just a black screen. No idea what changed, perhaps a Windows update as you get heaps of these when running a new system. Anyway I have tried running the USB drivers again and re scanning my channels but the result is still the same. It's so annoying knowing it has worked but now it won"t. Here's my system stats.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy audio was working well, but i decided to start recording find a way to improve my outbound audio quality (i'm an audiophile). I purchased a Fast Track Pro. Unlike other threads I've read, I'm not seeing any BSOD and its not crackling. My operating system will just stop functioning, or freeze for a half a second at a time. This can become frequent at about 10 times in a thirty second period requiring a restart. I had installed the latest x64 driver for my W7 x64 system from M-audio's website.
I uninstalled the driver and restarted, the issue persisted. I then installed the on-board audio driver and restarted, no system lag is present. The audio device-driver is acting up and I'm not sure why. Because i bought it used M-audio's support is a no-go. Are there any additional steps I can take which may troubleshoot this issue?
Using Windows 7, Windows Live Mail.When forwarding emails, I get a lot of popups saying the pictures could not be found, do I want to send the message anyway. Is there anything that can be done about this

It displays the progress bar OK and you can can even display the active thumbnail when you left click progress tracker,but just black full screen,i have all latest drivers for sound and graphics.I have reloaded direct x and codec drivers ,tried retuning ,tried resetting monitor,all to no avail.My system OS is w7 x64 ,CPU 6600 O/C 2.4 GHz, GPU NV GTX460.4MB Ram.

I can create a profile, add pictures and music start playing the movie and the timeline stops and the program freezes and then Movie Maker is "Not Responding".I have uninstalled and re-installed Windows Live Essentials 2011; download all Windows Updates and checked my Intel(R) 5 Series 4 Port SATA AHCI Controller for proper driver version (9.6.31001). Windows indicated it was up to date, however, I did find a web site that stated a newer version was available (10.6.0.1002).
View 4 Replies View RelatedFor the past two or three months i have continously had problems downloading and editing movies in (WLMM). On some occasions the movis downloads fine but more often than not when i am preparing a video it freezes...Sometimes it freezes immediately or other times it can reach up to 50% progress before it it freezes. What do you think is the cause of this? I have a lot of videos saved in my folder so i wonder if it could be related to memory storage? I have uninstalled and reinstalled WLMM but to no avail.

The audio is fine for any programs streaming online, but I cannot get audio on live or recorded TV. This happened suddenly. I watched a recorded show and it was fine. I tried to watch the same recording a second time and there is no audio. I ran the audio diagnostic/fix program, but it did not work. I do get Win 7 audio, just not when I try to watch recorded or live TV.

My MP4 video had no issues. However, Movie Maker won't accept my pre-recorded MP3 audio - what's up with that? It was recorded on XP then put on a USB stick and brought to my Win 7 PC. Would that effect it? How can I fix it?
If not, how can I get my MP3 working? I never thought MP3 would be an issue.
I used to have folders with a display of pictures on the front. Now I have plain folders, when opened, they have an icon to click and the a large picture shows up. I would like to open the folder and see the thumbprints immediately. Toshiba Satellite running Win 7.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy HP Presario CQ62 acts strangely since last night. After playing videos and audios for a while, suddenly there is no audio when playing videos or audio clips and the system freezes and I turned it off. I just updated iTunes to the latest version and was syncing with the iPod. I also updated Avast free anti-virus to the latest version about 2 days ago. That was last night. This morning, I also experienced the same thing. I was also syncing using iTunes. I was using Chrome and after I closed it it would not start again. Then the system reboot itself. Recently I also use msconfig to uncheck HPMSGSVC.exe (and a few other options) because it was taking so much time to boot up.
What is causing this suddenly no audio problem, among others, I described. Windows froze again after I typed the last sentence. I shutdown and restart windows. This happens after 1-3 hours of use since last night.
basically i am downloading Internet videos which come as mp4 files, i then convert them with no compression with the program "super" to avi. now when i add the videos to wlmm they play fine and i can edit them perfect, but when i turn the project to a wmv file and play the video, some of the clips seem to be out of sync for audio/video. i have spent hours editing these clips as i didn't think the conversion wlmm makes would effect it as when i play the clips in the wlmm portable player the problem doesn't occur.

-I have performed a clean boot of Windows 7 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135)
-I have checked the minimum specs for each game and I have confirmed that they are able to run on my computer.
-I have run a Preboot System Assessment without any errors.
-I have tried uninstalling my graphics driver in safe mode and reinstalling it normally through Windows.
-I have checked the temperatures and power supply of both my motherboard and video card.
-I have monitored my CPU usage during gameplay.
-I have run Memtest86 and have not found any errors.
-I've disconnected all devices except for my monitor, keyboard and mouse.
-I have tried disabling Aero effects.
-I have checked with my computer manufacturer and have validated that I am running the newest driver for my audio card, video card, BIOS etc.
-I have tried lowering all game settings to the minimum setting
I have strange freezing problems on my Asus N82JQ laptop. When playing most games and watching movies their will be freezing and/or audio problems with audio cutting in and out. Whats truly strange is by running a scan on malware bytes the problems seem to go away and then immediatly return after the scan completes. I have updated my drivers, ran countless different anti-virus programs and searched throughout google yet I still have no solution.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi have random freezes sometimes they are glitchy and rarely bsod all on bootup or up to about half hour in (which also turns of the mouse). also Internet doesn't autoplay playlists and all sugestions next to the video are black. this started a few weeks to a month ago, first it seemed just a minor annoyance but it started to become more often the last few days. i've tried some checks but without success.
also i remember the week before those crashes that twice the screen driver crashed for a second or 2 and then a message popped up about how a monitor driver crash was adjusted, always when i played a certain game that is still in beta so i taught it was the game.
I have imported my Outlook Express files into Live Mail (from an XP machine to a laptop running windows 7) using the import function in Live Mail. When I look in the Storage Folders there are no files to view. In the Quick Views I am able to read and see unread emails from Outlook Express but not emails that I have read on my XP machine.To do the import I copied the files from the XP machine to a USB stick and then on the laptop browsed to find the files on the stick. The folder containing the OE files in not read only.

View 1 Replies View Relatedthe newer smart phones have nice powerful processors in them so I was wondering if the DAC (Digital / Analog converters) in these are as good as the ones in a typical LAPTOP computer set up -- bog standard on board sound from a laptop computer -- not high end specialized studio stuff etc.My Galaxy III S phone can play FLAC files and plugging the output into a DECENT set of speakers appears to me to be just as good if not better than the same sound played from the computer - a relatively decent laptop computer (Sony VAIO VPCEH with Intel I5 processor). I tested this by connecting the phone DIRECTLY to the pre-amp with the music on the phone's micro sdhc card. Had I done it via the USB then that might have needed another DAC conversion so the test cases wouldn't have been the same.I use a phone app WINAMP PRO (just like the PC version) so I can use Folders / directories to play the music and it can play FLAC too -- a lot of music phone apps lack this facility which is a shame. I like also the "play by folders" too -- as I have a lot of Audio books -- saves endless tagging and creating playlists / albums. --Just point winamp to the directory / or file and play it.I find also streaming music from the phone to the receiver device seems to work better than messing around with pc software too -- especially on a laptop.Another app here -- OrangeSqueeze in conjunction with SQUEEZEPLAYER -does the job of the logitech squeeze server on the laptop. The phone will stream music from a Network (or any acessible drive) to the player device(s) -- no prob but use the Wifi on the phone --not the DATA content from the phone company !! otherwise your Bank balance will diminish faster than Spain's Economy.
I used to be very sceptical of smartphones --even have some posts on the forum saying I'd never buy them -- however I have to eat my own words -- the latest crop with the latest Android version are incredibly useful now and possibilities seem quite exciting with what you can do with them.Seems to me that we don't need to do much Multi-media streaming from Windows 7 in the future as your phone will handle it. Perhaps Ms is getting this right by gradually withdrawing a lot of multimedia in the standard version of W8.
Starting about a month ago, after six to seven months of my laptop working fine, I've been getting video and audio stuttering whenever gaming or watching most HD videos and after messing around with my drivers I realized that whenever my Realtek HD Audio drivers are disabled my video runs flawlessly, but when enabled both video and audio stutter. I'm using a Sony VAIO laptop so I'm assuming that the sound card isn't easily replaceable. I've tried using the newest drivers straight from Realtek's website and also the outdated driver provided by Sony's website, both of which result in the same stuttering. Sony has also replaced the motherboard once and it did not resolve the issue.I'm currently running Windows 7 with 6gb of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce 330M graphics card.
View 16 Replies View RelatedYesterday when I got home I could not get my headset working on my PC. It's a USB headset (Tritton AX720) but it works perfectly on my Xbox 360. There is sound coming from the headset but it is really quiet. My speakers to my computer work fine, it's just when I plug the headset in I'm not getting sound. I was working on it for about an hour last night and I can't figure out what is wrong with it. So far I've tried to make it my default audio device, I did a system restore to a few days ago, and messed with the setting a little bit. This headset has worked on my PC for about 6-8 months up until yesterday. By the way my audio for my computer is still working perfectly. It is only when I plug my headset in that it isn't working properly. I'm completely lost on what is wrong.
View 1 Replies View Relatedhow i can reinstall my main audio drivers so they stay installed and so i don't have to uninstall and reinstall them at every startup. it still says it's in use if i try to test it before reinstalling. to reinstall it i've been going to playback devices, right click properties, click properties on the new window, change settings on the next, last window click the driver tab and uninstall. then i go to device manager and scan for changes. it's really a pita DISREGARD THIS: ok so i've been trying to port audio from firefox to reaper + asio4all and found that i can do it with VAC. i first tried another program called virtual audio streaming but that didn't work. when i got VAC i uninstalled VAS first. since i've had VAC installed i can't listen to anything over my monitor's speakers (have computer hooked to monitor with hdmi). if i have "Digital Audio (hdmi)" set as the default audio device, the audio won't even start. for example if a start a movie in vlc and then realize there's no sound i can't just switch the default device to something else (usually can do this) i have to stop the video select a different device and start the video again. flash stuff online just won't play until i change the device. if i try to go to the properties of "Digital Audio (hdmi)" > advanced > and hit test it tells me the device is being used by another program. this was making me think that maybe it was because VAC was using that device to port the audio from windows or something. didn't really make complete sense but i uninstalled VAC, restarted my pc and it still does the same thing. i tried uninstalling the drivers (windows default drivers, the downloadable drivers IDT high def audio cause problems with other programs so i don't use them and would prefer not to) and restarting so they would reinstall but that did nothing.
