View 1 Repliesjust upgraded a client's HP Pavilion dv6701us laptop from Vista to 7 32-Bit.
Did a fresh install, activated Windows 7, Windows Update works just fine. Installed almost every update, but I can't get the webcam to work on here. I think I'm missing webcam driver.
Checked HP's site for the driver, only shows Cyberlink Youcam in the driver and software list. This is the laptop These are the drivers & software for it.
I have an hp g42 laptop with windows 7 and the webcam wont work. When I start up cyberlink youcam, it says: "Warning, No webcam detected. Try plugging in a webcam into your computer now. If you are using an integrated camera, make sure that it is turned on". It worked when i first got my computer for a few months, then it stopped. I haven't used it for a few months because of this problem.
View 14 Replies View RelatedMy webcam had been working fine since I got my laptop last year and just recently stopped working about a month ago. The device manager says that it's working fine and all drivers are up to date. But whenever I open Dell Webcam Central it doesn't recognize the webcam at all and asks me to plug in a supported device.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate edition. I got a Logitech Quickcam pro 9000, I have had it for a while and always had this problem. So the problem is whenever my PC is shut down, restarted, or wakes from sleep my webcam is either not detected, or is detected as a USB 1.1 device, instead of USB 2.0. In order for it to be detected as USB 2.0, or even detected at all, I have to unplugg it and plug it back in. I have all the current software and drivers for my motherboard, windows, and my webcam, in fact I just rechecked yesterday. So, my motherboard is an Nvidia 780i sli. I have looked in the Bios and USB 2.0 is definately enabled. Besides I know it working cause none of my other devices have this issue, plus like I said if I unplugg then plug the webcam back in, it is once again detected as a USB 2.0 device. I have tried all my USB plugs on my PC, and same result. So maybe a bios update? I have the P06 and noticed there is a P10 bios version now. Also when I go into device manager and click show devices by connection, I do not see a USB 2.0 catagory anywhere. Shouldn't USB 2.0 devices be in the USB 2.0 subcatagory? Or is it listed as something different cause of my MB, or Windows 7?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI already posted this in the general discussion forum but since then I think it has evolved from a windows 7 problem to a hardware problem. When I turn on my laptop I'm brought to a Windows Error Recovery screen from which I could choose to either launch startup repair or start windows normally. Eventually both options lead to Windows loading files and bringing me to a screen with 2 more options. One I can choose the HDD/Operating system but there is nothing to choose. I can also choose to restore my computer using a system image, but none of the options given have helped me other than identifying that the HDD was the problem. I can also load drivers which brings me to the system 32 folder in my X: drive.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Toshiba Satellite a135-s4527. It has a Realtek 10/100 ethernet card in it, and an Atheros wireless card.
My ethernet card doesn't show up in device manager, but the wireless card does.
I went to Toshiba.com and downloaded the appropriate drivers for Windows 7 and my model of computer and installed them, but the ethernet card still doesn't show up in device manager and I'm limited to wireless connections.
how to get my wired connection up and running?
My friend's laptop (Acer Aspire One 722 - Windows 7 x64) has been shut down after opening an email and Windows never started up again. When you attempt to start up the windows, it stays the black screen and says "No bootable Device Found"! I inserted Windows Live Disk and loaded it (Windows XP Mini - Golden Edition). When I went to "My Computer", it did not show any local drive. I went to "Disk Management" and in there, there was also no unallocated or allocated space. I even removed the HDD and plugged it back in. No thing happened. Then I removed the RAM card and inserted it back. Again, nothing happened! By the way, HDD had movements when laptop was on (I had removed the beneath panel).I inserted Windows 7 Disk to install a fresh Windows 7. But when you get to the part where it asks you to choose the partition to install the operating Sustem, it shows one unallocated drive with 0 (Zero) capacity! The options to Delete and format are disable. Only the option "New" is active and it gives you (0) bite to partition!
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a 120 GB Classic iPod. I've had it for a couple years, and I managed it with my old laptop (Vista). I got a new laptop (W7) recently so I copied my iTunes library on to a external HDD and moved it to the new laptop. I tried to use it with my new laptop for the first time several days ago, but it wasn't detected.
When I plug it in or remove it the backlight comes on, but neither my laptop, iPod, or iTunes show any indication that the iPod is actually connected. No sync screen on the iPod, no data popping up in iTunes, no USB device connection manager on my toolbar. What's going on? I tried resetting the iPod, but that didn't work.
Yesterday, I decided to do a little experimenting. I tried my iPod with my new laptop. It didn't work. I tried both USB 2.0 ports but no dice. I poked around in the device manager and didn't see anything that I thought might correspond with an iPod. No "USB mass storage device" or anything like that.I tried my iPod with my old laptop and it did work.I decided to pop in my new laptop a never before opened flash drive that I purchased recently. It installed properly. I checked both USB ports and it was detected in both of them.
