Laptop Connect To Wireless Networks Except Network?
Apr 5, 2012
I have a laptop in my home that couldn't connect to my network, it shows exteremely weak signal for my wlan, I have mac filter in the router, and checked that mac address is added to the filter, encryption configuration is fine, and it was working before a week , it can connect to any other network in other places except mine, I tried to take the laptop to my work and wireless is working so fine.
been reading a lot about people using two connections to connect to two separate networks to increase speed, i use a mobile hotspot plus my own internet connection at home, i have a wifi card in my laptop and a usb wifi also, is it possible to connect my laptop wifi to my home internet and the usb wifi (usb 3.0) to the mobile hotspot?
I have been having this problem for 2 days now. My computer was working fine, and I went to go do something, so I shut my laptops lid to put it to sleep. I came back about 5-10 minutes later, and it had a red cross on the network button, at the bottom right of my desktop. I tried turning the Wi-Fi on/off with F2 + Fn, but that didn't work. I have checked in device manager, and everything seems to be working. My wifi card is an Intel(R) WiFi Link 5300 AGN.
Currently running this on a Dell Studio 1557, with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. I've had this laptop for almost 3 years now, and it has never been a an issue. I've tried restoring my laptop to a couple of days ago, but that has given me no results. I tried running the computer in safe mode with networking enabled. I enabled my wifi with the fn + f2, and I saw my wifi network. However, while it was connecting, the connection was lost again, and I'm yet to see it.
After disabling and then enabling the driver, it would show the network for about 20 seconds, then it would be missing. Now, I can't even see it at all. All my other computers/devices can see my network, and it can still connect with it's Ethernet port. This problem is really starting to be a pain, since my laptop is pretty useless if it can't have portable internet.

brand new lappy. its the Acer travelmate 5740G fantastic specs - everything is nice and responsive, except that i can't connect my wireless at uni. the tech guy had a look at it and he can't figure it out either. we did everything, including shutting down (eventually deleting) the AV because of its firewall. we set up the network exactly as everyone else does (and it works for everyone else).
the computer keeps suggesting that we check the router (but the router works). i can get net through RJ45 no worries but... i want my wireless to work.
In this tutorial I will show you how to detect wireless networks in Windows 7 and how to connect to them. As you will see, the procedure is very simple and requires very few steps. On the right side of the taskbar, you will see a wireless network icon like the one below. Click on it.
i have a compaq presario cq57 notebook pc,windows7 home prem 64 bit)it was called Magicdisk, after trying for the last 3 months to uninstall this program(it would say INSTALL.LOG not found)i even did system restore to earlier setting but it was still on there, but after researching online someone told me to go to the program files in the hard drive and delete it from there,so that is what i did and it did work all program files were gone, now since i have done that 3 days ago i have had some pretty bad issues with my laptop.first it started with it telling me that my hard drive is gonna fail and to back up and a box pops up every 30 mins to remind me of this and every time i restart it says it in the bios and wants me to run a hard drive test but the same person told me not to worry because it is just a part of the 'magicdisk virus' and to just ignore it,so im wondering if this is true...now the next thing that happend 2 days ago my laptop quit connecting the wireless network, all the drivers r there and updated they r in the device manager as fine and working properly,i am connected with the etherport right now i have REALTEK RTL8188CE 802.11 B/G/N WIFI ADAPTER when i run diagnostics it says that i have a problem with the driver but i cant seem to find one and the only place my network shows up is in the LAN internet access REALTEK PCIe FAMILY CONTROLLER..it wont let me find a network manually it doesnt show up in manage wireless networks,if i disable the LAN then its not on here at all and it wont detect it so i am completely stumped as to what the problem is..i have tried it all!! uninstalling, reinstalling drivers, unplugging the router(although all my other wifi things work),restored to earlier date, changing channels,u name it i have probably tried it!!but like i said im new at this so there the possibility i wasnt doin it right.
Hidden wireless networks are those networks which do not broadcast their Network ID (SSID). While not that many people use such networks, it definitely ads a bit more security to have your home wireless network hidden from unwanted guests. In this guide I will share with you what details you need to know in order to connect to such networks and what are the steps for making a successful connection.
I previously bought a used laptop running Win 7 Ultimate which I am the administrator and for ages I have wondered why I am always unable to connect to adhoc wireless networks, connecting to wireless access points have no issue though.Connecting to adhoc networks always gives me the 'your network administrator has blocked you from connecting to this network' message. I recently found out, as below there seems to be a group policy set in place? Can anyone show me how I can disable this policy please, without having to reinstall windows 7 again as that would really be too much effort for me[CODE]
i have a toshiba windows 7 Laptop, and its always been connected to my Virgin Internet wirelessly for bout 2 years. However now when i switch the laptop on, it does not connect to the wireless internet anymore. My network comes up in the wireless network connections box but as soon as i click on it it pops straight up and says windows was unable to connect to xxxxx etc.I have tried turning of router etc for 10 seconds and plugging it back in but nothing. i have checked my wireless adapter card for drivers and it says i have latest drivers.Everything else in the house, ie phones, playstation etc connects to the network fine, and when i hard wire my laptop to the router again it works fine (am using laptop now to type this)
I have a fairly new Toshiba Satellite P755 laptop and just started having an issue connecting to my Netgear wireless internet network since yesterday. The issue is that every time I turn on my laptop after it was off or hibernated my computer won't connect to my wireless network but I do see it available to connect to. When I try to connect it won't work unless I reset or unplug the router and plug it in again (Windows Diagnostic Tool says check router access points). Once I do that and wait a couple minutes I can connect to my network again. I have a Realtek RTL8188CE Wireless card and made sure my drivers were up to date. I have tried unchecking the option under Device Manager to not use it if the battery is low and that didn't work. I also tried to system restore and when I did that I got the following error: (0xc0000022) which says an unspecified error occurred and my files and settings were not changed. I have AVG Free 2013 and haven't made any new changes or updates recently.

why one of my laptop suddenly has no internet access.no matter what I tried its still does not connet. It is show that its connecting to my main network but it said no internet access.
My wireless network suddenly is not showing up on the list of available networks anymore. It was working fine and suddenly (maybe after some Windows updates?) it just disconnected and it is not on the list.Other networks show on the list and the network adapter is working. The network is working too, I can connect my other devices.
Several months ago my computer stopped picking up any wireless networks. I can connect using an Ethernet cable and a USB wireless adapter. I have troubleshooted and removed my driver and updated software; I even upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 hoping that might fix the problem but it didnt. I am thinking it may be my internal wireless card. So you recommend going to a hotspot to see if I can pick up there? I would think I would have to do that considering the USB adapter picks up multiple wireless networks but my internal one picks up none so I think that already rules out my router being a problem.
I have had a Acer Aspire 5742-6814 for a month or so now. Yesterday it suddenly would not connect to the wireless network in my apartment and won't connect to a wired network either. It says that the wireless drivers are up to date and it just stopped working out of nowhere. I tried connecting to my school wireless network and that would not work either. I have tried some of the solutions that I have seen including: Resetting modem in apartment. Checking "Connect even if network is not broadcasting its name (SSID)" (which seemed to work for some people with similar problems). I really have no idea what is wrong or if it some kind of hardware issue. I can provide any further details.
I am having a wireless issue on my laptop. I have had my connections in the two locations for months now. One network was recently upgraded to another router and the other network router was reset. I am at the location where the router was reset. My available networks are showing and are in excellent strength but whenever I hit "connect",nothing happens.I don't even get a prompt to enter the passcode. I even tried to connect at my local library's wifi with no such luck. When I run diagnostics it keeps saying "None of the networks you have previously connected to are in range"?? My drivers are up to date. I am a novice when it comes to computers so I really need help on this one. Just tell me what is needed in terms that I can understand (again, I am not that computer savvy, lol) and I will provide them. I am running on a 32bit and my laptop is a HP. The router is a Broadcom 4313 802.11b/g/n
I have an Acer laptop windows 7, but Just recently (yesterday) a problem came up that at first I thought it was the modem but now I see the problem is my laptop. And basically when I run the windows network Diagnostics 3 problems come up:
1. None of the networks you have previously connected to are in range, 2. Problem with wireless adapter or access point, and 3. The default gateway is not available.
i am using windows 7 ultimate 64 bit and it has run well for 1.5 years. a day ago however my wireless network icon disappeared from my system tray. you can see what my problem is here on Internet:
I got a brand new HP with Windows 7 and it will not connect to my network. It sees it and I have another laptop connected to it as well as a desktop hardwired to it. Like I said, this thing is brand new.
as of today i am not able to connect to my home network it used to work perfectly before but now when i try to connect it says unidentified network no internet accesit does work on all the other laptops herei also can conect to my neighbours wireless internet fine and when i plug the cabel in its also workingany ideas on how to fix this (not so good with computers so try to be gentel) ?
I can see the wireless connection on the laptop but it wont connect.this networks no needed user name and pass to connect.my laptop is vostro 1015 os: windows 7 ultimate.
I have 3 computers all running 64bit Windows Home premium all have 802.11n cards. 2 have no problem connecting to the wireless network the 3rd can see the network but won't connect or has the dreaded yellow exclamation mark with limited connectivity.
This seems to be a windows issue but not sure. When I look at the wireless profile in windows it says the security is WEP but the router is set up as WPA-2. I have tried changing the setting in Windows to WPA-2 but that then generates another error in the network discovery window saying the settings are not correct or something to that effect.
1) I have reinstalled the driver didn't work.
2) I have removed the security altogether didn't work.
3) reset the router didn't work (Although as stated earlier the other 2 computers connect with no problems)
4) Deleted wireless profile and started again didn't work.
The following worked untill I restarted the computer but would not after that even if I applied the same steps.
1) Assigned a static IP - This worked but once I restarted the computer it would no longer connect. Tired different IP address from 192.168.1-149. No joy 2)Copied the network profile from both the other machines same result as #1.
I have just set up a wireless network, and my phone (android) can connect to it fine with the correct wep key, but my laptop (windows 7) cannot. it sees the network but when I try to connect it does not ask for a wep key, it just tells me it cannot connect. I have tried going into the 'network and sharing center' and connecting manually but no dice.
I have an Acer Aspire v5-571 running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, and I've been running into trouble connecting to my home's wireless network for the past couple days. It just says that my laptop is unable to connect. I've tried everything I can think of; I've reinstalled and updated all drivers from the Acer website, done system restores from weeks ago, installed all Windows updates, and I've even wiped my PC and reinstalled windows.
i cant connect to my wireless network.my router will be lit up with all green lights but once i try to connect my wifi on my phone or connect to xbox live, the wireless light goes to a flashing orange. then it stays like that. it was working fine before but all of sudden it just stopped.it stopped working when i was on the xbox not the computer. heres my config/all
I have Windows 7 Ultimate installed on my machine. Whenever I try to connect to a wireless network it does not get connected. It keeps only identifying...
I am getting IPs using DHCP only and rest all things like authentication are correct.
If I run "ipconfig -all" it gives "Media disconnected" for all adapters, does it mean it's hardware issue?
