View 1 Replies View RelatedIm simply trying to install from vista 64-bit. This is my first windows install. it starts the install then on the first reboot it goes to a black screen with only a curser, ive been trying for ever and i just cant figure this out...
ive tryed mutiple times upgrading and custom installs but nothing is working.
i was trying to get drivers for my printer. After restart, screen went black. I restarted in safe mode with netwking to find out what to do. So I eventually found out my graphics card had no driver; it had a generic vga adapter. So I search for my graphics card to find it is an Nvidia GeForce fx 5200 and I get the drivers for it.
I restart in normal mode: no success. restart in safe' with net' . starts and am notified that drivers have installed. Now on next restart in normal mode, application error 0xc150002...press ok. Then i get a message in the bottom right hand corner that says 'windows is not genuine build 7600'.
I have seen how to change it with/without cmd, but either requires normal mode.
So how do I re enter my product key?
I have read all the forum discussions, one of which was from myself a few years ago, on a different sony laptop I have had and successfully got it full screen on windows 7, but... I just can't seem to get the Nvidia Software installed to get my native 1200 by 800 resoloution, the sides are cut off at the moment...So I have a VGN-SZ4MN/B..I have downloaded and installed 179.48 drivers, copied the setup files from 196.34 into the 179.48 folder, and copied the .inf file into notepad, renamed to setup.inf and placed the modified .inf file from LaptopVideo2Go: Drivers as per other discussions, but to no avail.

I've been having this issue with NVIDIA drivers for my GeForce GTX 460; the driver seems to be doing fine (screen turns black at one point for a few seconds then goes back to normal, not sure if that's intended) but then after a while, it simply stops. It doesn't freeze or give me an error message, it just stops working for several hours.

I've downloaded many drivers from 181 to 190 and all I get is "Your system has not been modified. To install this program at a later time, run the installation again." WHAT THE CRAP?

after i installed windows 7 64bit since there is no 64bit drivers on the samsung website i downloaded it from nivida's website.
after installing it, when my laptop boots it just reaches the logo screen then just restarts its self

I'm having a problem where if I double click on a video or a picture, my screen goes to a pixleated green screen, then when I hit ctrl-alt-del, it goes to a pixelated blue screen. When this happens, I hear the video card fan go to full speed and I have to restart to fix the problem. If I drag the picture or video into media player first, it works great.
I've seen these screens before when I had video driver issues with another compuer. I have the Nvidia driver 8.15.11.8172 installed now. When I tried to upgrade to the190.38 drivers, I got the green screen of failure on start up, and had to reboot in safe mode and roll back the drivers.
The video card is Nvidia GeForce 7900 Gt.

I have tried to reinstall and repair the HDD but the disc fails to recognize my HDD (Western Digital Scorpio Black 500 GB). My HDD is Basic, has 3 primary partitions and 1 extended (3 logical). Ubuntu 11.10 can boot fine.

Is there a difference between running repair install from Windows or booting from original disk then selecting upgrade install? Is one or the other preferred? Directions say both attempt to preserve installed programs, but not all drivers, and both require reinstalling all the 60 or so windows updates released after my disk. so no differences there.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've built a brand new PC and decided that I would like to install windows 7 64 bit on my SSD, I got a disk+key from my university before christmas so that'd i'd be ready once i'd built it.
I built the PC yesterday and realised that I'd left my external DVD drive at my university accommodation, I'm at my parents house for christmas break so that's a few weeks left. I can't really wait that long so I used my parents laptop (which I'm posting from now) to turn the disk into an .iso and use the microsoft USB utility to make a USB stick that i could install from.
However when I tried the install gets to 'installing features' and gives 'windows cannot install required files' error code 0x80070570 I looked the code up on google which sent me to a lot of threads here, so far I've tried:
Taking all but 1 stick of ram out and the graphics card. Reseting the bios to default Installing again without rebooting after error. using cmd to select the right partition
First off this is a newly built computer, all fresh components. aftercleaning/activating the hdd via shift +f10 at Windows 7 setup,(which took me a day to figure out) i was very excited to see my hdd available for Windows 7 installation. as i proceed windows does its thing, after installing its time for the first restart. it restarts right back to the initial windows 7 setup ive done a lot of research, and majority of the problems seem to be the boot priority in bios. so i made sure that it was usb-hdd, then hard drive. (Windows 7 on flash drive for me, no dvd burner available). still the same thing, right back to initial setup. i tried maybe to remove the flash drive during the 10 second countdown to restart, but when it restarts, the windows splash screen comes up and then blue screens and restarts real quick. cant see what the error is on bsodthere have been a couple different start up issues, "windows did not start properly" "select version of windows to start from" (or something to that effect.) but its all the same outcome. windows 7 just wont finish installation
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a re-install of all components following a complete corruption of the boot sector on my drive which could not be fixed with repairs. The last time I installed everything fresh, I had no issues. Between then and now, there have been no hardware changes on my system, but now I am having issues installing the IDT Codecs. I keep getting an error along the following lines: Quote: ExitError: Error=Device Object not present, restart the system and run setup again. Running under compatibility mode, and running drivers from both the motherboard CD and the manufacturer website both have the same effect. The CD, when booted, says "This OS not support!" and only contains 32-bit vista codecs. ECS' website download indicates the IDT drivers as being compatible with Windows 7. Both do not work. It is almost as if the hardware "disappeared," despite the fact that I was using the drivers quite successfully till just 2 days ago, when the boot sector went kaput.
Windows has installed its own default set, which do nothing to power the 8mm jacks which I use with my speakers, but instead put sound through the HDMI, which is useless because I use a dedicated graphics card. I have tried uninstalling this codec and re-installing IDT, to no effect. I have fought NT Kernel & System on 3 computers running Win 7 x64 ever since Win 7 has been out. No one yet that I know of has been able to solve the issue. I now need to install Java and can't because of NT Kernel & System stops it. I have tried everything on every forum and sites l find with Google searches. Nothing has worked yet.
