View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a possibility to buy cheap an intel turbo memory 1GB. The seller says that it works only on Vista, and that 512MB are for Vista ReadDrive, and 512MB are for Vista ReadyBoost. Can me someone explain in easiest words what is ReadyBoost and ReadyDrive? And will it work on Windows 7? And makes it any sense? What benefits can i have from using it.

I spotted what looked to be a solution to my problem of upgrading the driver for RT 61 turbo card from Vista to Windows 7 and I had further queries. It occurred to me that any discussion might be better in this "drivers" thread rather than the " hardware" one, So I wonder if I can take the liberty of repeating my questions here. The initial query from Gamer 1238 was:
I have a problem with my Ralink wireless card. windows "says" its fine but it doesn't enable (on windows 7)
It might be a driver problem i'm not sure...
I have the latest driver for it too its a Ralink RT61 Turbo Wireless Card chipset is 2561/RT61
if you know of any drivers that will work with windows 7 please post here and a link to the download so others like myself can fix this problem once and for all
Gamer 1238 finally found a driver and kindly posted a link which I have saved and my further questions are:
Although this thread is marked problem solved, I wonder, as a mid-80 year-old non-techie, if I could take it a little further. The Windows 7 upgrade advisor tells me that I should save an upgraded driver for my RT 61 turbo wireless card and install it after installing Windows 7 (after upgrading from Vista). I cannot find anything on the Ralink Technology web site which helps me but I came across this thread which seems to mirror my problem.
Accordingly, I downloaded from the link Gamer 1238 kindly supplied and saved it. Am I right in thinking that I can now install Windows 7, then open and install the driver from the from the saved file and all will be well? Or can I install the driver now before replacing my Vista with Windows 7? I suppose I am seeking reassurance before I burn my bridges and start the Windows 7 installation.
