Jan 19, 2013I had a custom PC built for me recently by a friend. Everything was installed except the sound card. I bought a creative recon 3d fatality sound card and looked up how to do it and its pretty straight forward.. However, no matter which PCI slot i plug it into upon computer start up my computer dosnt even recognize that there is an audio output device. I tried downloading the new drivers tons of times, rebooting, uninstalling the reinstalling.. Nothing seems to work and nobody really knows why. Also tried to F2 on start up to try and switch my motherboards audio out from a default setting but it really dosnt even give me that option.

Motherboard Will Not Recognize Graphics Card With Latest Drives
Jun 20, 2012the problem being is the motherboard will not recognize the graphics card with the latest drives and older ones to test, the strange thing is if i take a stick of memory out it boots up in single memory mode and recognises the card straight away, likewise if i install another module to make it 6gb it fires up perfectly and plays CODMW3 no problem but if i am doing office work after about 30minutes the screen starts to flicker and black lines appear through writing then finally the BSOD comes up complaining about one of the graphics card drivers, dont get me wrong i have played COD for ages and not had a problem, i am at a bit of a loss i want 6gb memory ideally but the system becomes unstable, the system works great as an office computer with 4gb of memory but wont play videos or do video editing because it doesnt recognize the card.

Nov 6, 2012I recently build a Frankenstein desktop, or at least that's what I'm calling. I started out replacing the motherboard in a HP Pavillion p6130y desktop.
After some research I found that the stock motherboard as pretty outdated so I decided to go aftermarket. I wanted to replace as little as possible but now the only original parts are the dvd drive and network card. The network card has to screws on the back to attach an antenna and is a PCI1x card.
Current Problem: I now have a problem where after installing the card and Windows 7 Professional , I can see the list of available wireless networks including my own.
But, I cannot connect to any of them even though my own network has full signal strength.
How To Force Motherboard / Graphic Card To Send Signals To Monitor
May 20, 2011Once I turn off my monitor and turn it on again my TFT monitor has problems to get input signals again from the (running) computer.It remains dark with an indicator "no input signal" and I have to reboot the whole computer to get everything working again.I think whenever a monitor is turned on then NORMALLY the monitor sends a "hello I am alive again" signal to the graphic card. The graphic card knows then that it has to send stuff to the monitor. In my case there seems to be no such "Hello" signal from the monitor->graphic card.On the other hand I could simulate by manual keyboard strokes such an signal and force the graphic card to resume sending signals.

Dec 31, 2012So far i have a GT 520 TI and i am looking at this video card (Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GV-N650OC-1GI GeForce GTX 650 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card) i saw some gameplay's of it and so far it look's and play's very good, but it say's it need's PCI Express 3.0 x16 and my motherboard that's a Gigabyte GA-M68MT-S2P, It say's PCI Express x16, I really don't know what version of PCI Express my motherboard is, my question is, Will my motherboard work with the GTX 650 and does PCI Express 3.0 mean that i need to update my motherboard?

Jul 25, 2012Recently ran a bunch of malware / antivirus programs to get rid of a zeroaccess trojan. (malwarebytes, mcafee, cccleanter, eset, hitman). Was finally able to get rid of the viruses in the services.exe and desktop.ini files. However once they were cleaned and got everything back to normal, I'm having problems with my video card being recognized by anything. Only recognizing the Intel® and not my Nvidia gtx 560M. It's not listed on the dxdiag page, not showing up as a selectable option for The Elder Scrolls Skyrim. Was working fine a few hours ago. It's listed under device manager just not showing up anywhere else. Just wondering if getting rid of those viruses might have deleted some needed .dll or something

I wiped the drive to get all their vapor ware off, installed my software and everything went fine. Windows Update recognized the hardware on my machine and downloaded and installed the appropriate drivers after the wipe.Here's the problem. My girlfriend followed suit two weeks later and asked me to do the same thing for her. Our machines were slightly different but for the most part I expected a similar experience. Except it wasn't. This time Windows Update failed to recognize the Video Card after the wipe.So now she has this nice video card sitting in her machine using a Standard VGA Adapter instead of the Radeon drivers it needs. No matter how many times I download and install the Catalyst software from ATI's site it doesn't catch. What am I doing wrong?

Aug 7, 2009i used to play games on this laptop and it was running fine. i will have to say that the most hardcore game i ran on this laptop would be call of duty 4, but other than that, it was just those free mmorpg like maple story and flyff. after i reformat to try windows 7, vista, back to windows xp and then back to windows 7, my card started lagging badly. when i'm in game, it would be fine for about a minute (nice fps), then it starts to lag. and when i ctrl+alt+del, it takes a bit of time before it pops up. sometimes, i have to just power off my laptop.
about 2 weeks ago, i reformatted and installed windows xp pro sp3 to see if it was just the os and drivers, but the problem still remains. also, i can't watch flash video on Internet as it starts to lag, but i'm able to watch .avi and such video with media player classic without any problems.

Sep 16, 2009Well, my ATI AIW 1800XL finally bit the dust. The TV software hasn't been supported since Vista (and I'd just bought it before Vista went beta...) and I've been using Windows drivers since Windows 7 Beta. Now running 7 RTM.
Today, whilst only playing mp3s with WMP12, the system locked up and refused to boot. Throwing a cheap card in got me up and running, but I'm now browsing Newegg for cards. I've been using ATI for years, but am not opposed to Nvidia (although there are some complaints here regarding driver installation...).
Here are my uses:
I use this system heavily for business. This includes a lot of CS3 use and large, layered image files (blueprints). Since my office is in my home, this machine is not only my main business machine, but it gets a LOT of personal use as well, which includes movies, etc. I have also been known to install a game now and then (but not all that often).
I guess I'd like the ability to run GPU intensive games, but that may not happen (time is at a premium). The games I have copies of at the moment are Far Cry and Far Cry 2 (FC2 came with a 9550 CPU). I've heard good things about Crysis, but again, I may never go there. I guess I'm looking for a compromise? I'd like to keep the cost at around $120 or lower.
