I use Windows Live Mail 2011 essentials. I really like the plain Jane Windows Live mail but got ropped into this type in auto windows update. Originaly i just removed it thinking that the Plain Jane mail program would be re-instated but it was not, could not find just windows live mail so had to put it back if I wanted to use email not web mail.Above tells you where I am at as far as email is concerned. Now my problem.I have setup several groups of email messages that I send messages to, as well as to just one person. Suddenly in the last month or so I have been getting reports of some addressees are getting as many as 50 of the same message, orther not. Sometimes they are sent to one of the groups some are not, some are forwards. I have communicated with Cox, my high speed interent access, they tell me use only web mail not Windows Live Mail. I really do not like web mail, but will start using it if I have to. I ALLWAYS send BCC for a message with more than 3 addresses because of emails containing lots of addresses for capturing the addresses for spam.
I am having trouble with Windows Live Mail sending e-mails 10 to 20 times and the recipient can not open any of them. It seems to be mainly e-mails with Video Clips and Photos attached. I don't know whether somebody sent me a bug or if it is a fault in the computer. It is a Dell computer and brand new in Feb 2011.
When i want to send an email (click on email address on a page) i get Windows Internet Explorer error: "Could not perform this operation because the default client is not properly installed" after this IE starts. This is strange because i got Mozilla Thunderbird as def. email client. anyone got ideas how to fix that?
I hate to start with an apology, but I can't believe I'm the first to raise this point, so I'm sorry if it's already been done to death. But I've tried searching the forum, and couldn't find a relevant thread. My issue is this. When I'm writing a new email in Windows Live Mail, like most careful users I like to save the text every now and then. It's an instinct borne of hard experience of losing data, which can happen any time with any software. I just automatically click Cltr-S periodically without even thinking about it.Unfortunately, it appears to me that every time I do this in Windows Live Mail, the program creates a new copy of my current draft email in the relevant Drafts folder. If it's a long email, or one I'm phrasing with extra care, I can end up with maybe ten or fifteen nearly identical drafts cluttering up the folder! This behaviour seemed so bizarre when I noticed it that I trawled through the settings, looking for a way to override it, but I can't find any reference. Am I missing something obvious? I must be.
In Outlook Express (sorry to dredge up that familiar phrase), when you do what I've described above, the software behaves logically, and simply resaves the amended draft email each time over the previous version, so that you never have more than one draft copy at any time - which is how nearly all word processors also work. Surely that's how Windows Live Mail should behave too? I realise there might be occasional instances where you would want two different versions of a draft, but surely these instances are far outnumbered by the times when you just want to save a single copy incrementally as you write it?
We are a small company with 15 users and we have been blacklisted in several sites for sending spam, everytime we ask for removal, they do, but after few days, we are there again. Cash flow in the company is really tight, we can not afford to pay a tech guy!
I have three accounts in WLM. One of them is not working properly.FYI I had this same problem when backing up my system last year. I never resolved it and just lived with it. Now I am setting up a new computer and the problem is still here. When I reply to a message in this account it reverts to sending it with the default email. So it does not include the signiture and does not send from the correct account. The trick is it only does this with the transfered/backed up emails. Since I've setup my new computer and configured the three accounts in WLM I have two new emails in that account. I can send from those just fine and windows recognizes the account I'm sending from and puts in the proper signiture. So it only does it to the "old" emails that I backed up. For some reason WLM is not properly reading those "old" emails and recognizing the account they are from.Again this happened a year ago but I just lived with it. As after a few days I would be replying to new emails and it would work fine. If I went back and tried to reply to an email that was "old" or "backed up" it would revert to sending with my default email just as my new computer is doing now.
Is there any way that I can send music files copied to my external hard drive to my friend in another country and what is the best way to do this if it is possible.
Is there a way to send a photo (Jpg) as an attachment using Windows Live Mail the same way as Outlook Express would do? When I try to send a photo as an attachment it is sent in an album using SkyDrive (What ever that is). I can sent word files OK, but not photos.
Every time I send an email from my windows live mail account to a hotmail account it shows as sent but the person is not receiving it I can send to gmail and i can send any other emails but just not hotmail
I have a problem with Outlook 2010 that is driving me nuts. Whenever I send an email with an attachment upwards of 4Mb it goes through the sending process then comes up with a send error. The attachment has in fact been sent but remains in the out box as though it hasn't and then it keeps sending it over and over until I catch it and delete it. I have Windows 7 home Premium on a Toshiba Satellite 5000 with 4Gb RAM.
I have just started using Windows Live Mail a few weeks ago. I sent a mass email out to a bunch of people regarding a club event. A message pops up saying: The message could not be sent. The setting for your outgoing email server might need to be configured. To find the server settings for 'email address', please contact your email service provider. Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC79 Now every time I exit Windows Live it says you have unsent messages in your inbox, do you want to send them now? When I push yes, the same message as above comes up. And when I exit the program and restart it, I cannot send emails but I can recieve them.
I just bought a laptop and I am trying to send a video or photo from the webcam and it says there is no email set up for this computer to set it .. how?
After sending mails with medium-sized MP3 attachments (2-3MB), the sent file still appears in my outbox, and if I close down LiveMail it tells me I have an unsent message and would I like to send it. If I say no it sends it anyway! Recipients have received up to 4 copies of the sent mail. This doesn't happen with mails that don't have an attachment.
Is there a way to have windows mail live have all 5 of my email accounts in one folder rather having them separately and if i get mail in each account i have to down the menu to each account and open them up? I would like to have all of them in one inbox when i get mail like outlook and windows mail?
I just got my new laptop with windows 7 home professional. I downloaded windows live mail and all is working well with my hotmail and gmail accounts; however, when I click an email link within a website it switches to live mail, but no email box pops up (with the address in it) in livemail. Any ideas?
While away from home, can a pop3 account be accessed by live mail? I am with Shaw (Canada) and their online e-mail access sucks. I need to be able to download to my computer when away from home for extended periods of time.
Avast Internet Security tries to send me mail and everytime I get this"Multiple Content-Type header - HIGH DANGER!"So I get a blank email. How can I get a copy of my License file from them when this keeps happening? Is there something I can turn off so I can receive email from them?
I did the SP1 update on the weekend. I don't know if this is why this has happened but Windows live Mail, when opened, is now empty. All of my emails, settings, contacts and accounts are gone. I can see all the folders when I look under C:Users... but I don't know how to restore all of it.
I can receive e-mails but I cannot send any e-mails. When I press the new e-mail button this message pops up: A problem occured while trying to open this message. A problem has occurred. Please try again. I have checked all of the server information. It is all correct. I am in an office with 4 other people and we all use the same e-mail provider.
is there anyway of making every email in windows mail viewable. When i say this i mean can i see everything in there all the images videos etc without allowing the content and sender in each one?
Ive been googling this issue for quite some time and people have the same issue, but specific to them. their isp, email etc. I cannot send any emails using Windows Live Mail. Every time i go to send, it fails to connect to server with this message:-
i can download email from my email server but i cannot reply, forward or create new email, for all i get a message that says 'a problem occured while openning this message, a problem has occured, try again. or 'an error occurred while trying to forward to replying to this message. there is no error reason provided or error number. it worked fine for a few years and then this error message starting to occur. i have checked the server addresses for incoming/outgoing and they appear to be correct?
