View 8 Replies View RelatedSo I've been getting this annoying error "Display driver has stopped working and has recovered" which seems to be fairly common after searching for a fix for it. I'll spare you all the details and cut to the chase.
I've tried the GPU (evga 460gtx) on my friend's computer reproducing the crash-inducing environment (playing some games on max details) and it works flawlessly so I was able to remove 'faulty card' from my suspect list.
Back on my own PC I've tried every possible thing until one actually worked (underclocking my gpu from 850 to 800mhz).
My question is... does this point to a PSU fault? Everything in bios is set to default and the OS+drivers are clean install. I want to know why I have to underclock it, what the problem really is.
Every once in awhile my screen freezes, goes to black, and then recovers with a message that the display driver stopped working and has successfully recovered. I checked the event viewer and the Event ID is 4101. In the details it says "Display Diver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered." My computer is a Sony Vaio VPCCW17FX and my display driver is a GR Force G210 M. This started happening after I downloaded an update from VAIO Update awhile back. I have tried to go on NVIDIA's website and manually download the driver

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've tried everything (including Tom's Hardware) Google has churned up but to no avail. This includes clean installs of my drivers, registry edits and even a reformat and fresh installation of Windows 7.I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, with the following (relevant) hardware:
ASUS P8P67 Deluxe
Geforce GTX 580
8Gb RAM
750 Watt PSU
I've played well over 350 hours of Battlefield 3 without a problem until I reformatted my computer for other, since resolved, issues. After the reformat It just wouldn't work. As previously mentioned I've tried all the common solutions for my issues, starting out assuming it was Battlefield that was causing them.I'm hoping it's not a hardware related issue, but I have a feeling that it might be. I've had this computer (custom built) for just over a year and a half.
my screen goes all black for a couple of seconds then when it returns the open tabs/sites are kinda inactive for another couple of seconds, or when i click on another window, it is highlighted but the content is of another site/tab. when this happens, there is usually a message at the bottom left of the screen that "Display driver has stopped working and recovered problems"

I was browsing away and my whole pc froze, with a strange little box around my cursor, although the sound was still working, I force shut down it and restarted and little message popped up saying the display driver has stopped working, I tried multiple things to solve this, to no avail, eventually it kept happening and it got so bad the computer would not start, i tried all of the "F" keys on startup and none worked, eventually i took it to a shop who wiped everything clean and it worked again.
Around 2 months down the line low and behold the same problem happened again, I found a solution and installed a program called driver robot, I used it and installed many outdated drivers, this seemed to fix the problem. For about 6 months, now it has happened again, my computer has now shut down and goes into a constant restart loop, as it is doing this the screens that show up are littered with dots and lines of many colours, I just need workaround on this, preferably without loosing all of my files.
url...I installed it and started experiencing some serious problems. When i do anything slightly stressful on the system (mostly gaming) the game runs fine but after a few minutes (sometimes seconds) into gaming the screen will freeze, go black, then come back again. I get a pop up that says "Display drivers have stopped working and have recovered". This is extremely aggravating and stressful for me seeing as ive read a few things on this problem and all the trouble shooting ive done has got me no where. Ive tried keeping the system cooler, adjusting the OC, giving the cpu a bit more voltage, updating drivers, and taking the radeon 6450 i had in (with dual graphics enabled). The motherboard i have in here is a Gigabyte A75M-S2V.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI get an error message saying "Display driver Intel Graphics Accelerator Drivers for Windows XP(R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered." I do, however, have Windows 7 Professional 32-bit. The screen turns black and then flashes white. I can only resume use of my computer if I close out all my chrome tabs multiple times and reopen them.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy computer is unable access my router. The power went out for a second and clearly that did something. I have an HP p7-1174 desk top, running Windows 7 Home Premium x64. The processor is an AMD A8-3800.
There are now several devices in the manager with yellow exclamation points, all relegated to the LAN. I get a Code 31, unable to load drivers message. I ran the sfc scan and there were no integrity violations. I tried updating drivers without any luck. My router is working fine because my laptop and iPad both work online.
The problem seems to be that Windows can't load the drivers for my 802.11n wireless LAN card. I tried updating drivers but it said the driver was up to date. I tried changing manually but the only two listed were the same and when I clicked one, it said Windows was unable to load.

my problem is about my GPU, the display drivers stop responding and then it recovers again. After that I cannot play any video what so ever (game, online video, etc). this is the message: (Display driver stopped responding and has recovered - Display driver NIVIDA Winnows Kernel Driver, Version 285.62 stopped responding and has successfully recovered)
AND YES I AM USING THE LATEST NVIDIA DRIVERS.
I have a dell inspiron 1501 Laptop that came with the vista platform. However, I have upgraded my computer since (and it's been years now as well) to windows 7 ultimate. For months I have been able to use my computer fine with no problems whatsoever pertaining to my Display, but of late, since about 3 months now or so, my computer has been delaying when I am watching movies and now every time I am on it, my display driver keeps on stopping and then displays this message
"DISPLAY DRIVER STOPPED AND HAS RECOVERED"
I get this message I would say almost every 2-5 minutes when I am using my computer. It is getting frustrating because it makes it harder to watch movies, and burn any kind of dvds on my computer.
My display goes black Frequently for about 10 seconds, then get an error that my "Display stopped responding but has recovered." is there something wrong with my video card or is it my notebook? I thought my notebook may be overheating for the exhaust was hot so I bought a chilling mat with 2 fans but getting the same problem? I did blow it out with canned air & Of Course I'm 3 mos. over the warranty & stupidly, didn't get the extended warranty...
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am currently having an issue with what I think is my graphics card. When I run online games the game runs for about 2 minutes, crashes and says "display driver AMD has stopped responding and has been repaired." I've googled this problem and none of the solutions that I've found have worked. I've downloaded Microsoft fix it center and it says nothing it wrong. I've tried to update the card but it says it's already updated.
-My graphics card is: AMD Radeon HD 6630
-My computer model is: Sony VIAO SE
I have a fairly fresh install of Windows 7 (< 1 month), because I found a good deal on a SSD I couldnt pass up, and it has been running nice. I mostly use this machine for working and as such used the on-board graphics card of the motherboard (GA-880GM-UD2H), however with the great reviews on Guild Wars 2 I figured I would get back into gaming and bought a XFX Radeon HD 6870 for the occasion. As my Thermaltake TR2-450 would not be sufficient for this FX card I swapped it with a TR2-500 I had on another machine. I can play GW2 for hours at best quality and it works great no slugginess or stuttering at all. However if I start the machine and open up a browser I can within 5 min get 2-3 errors (Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding and has successfully recovered.), and eventually the system will reboot. It is not limited to one browser and has also happened with Windows Live Mail.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm have ''Display driver NVIDIA Windows kernel Mode driver, version 195.55 stopped responding and has sucessfully recovered." when i play games.
I don't get this error in Windows XP, only getting it in Win Vista and Windows 7
I've tried several drivers and even reinstalled Windows 7 but i can't fix this
Sometimes, after having been on for a long time, my screen will go black for a few seconds. It comes back a bit awkwardly, with different parts of the screen appearing separately. Once everything is back, I get a little popup saying that the display driver stopped responding, and has recovered. It's only a minor annoyance, but I'd like to know if there's any way to fix this? In my device manager, it says that I'm missing a video controller, which could be the cause of this.
