View 1 RepliesRecently opened programs does not appear in the start menu.Windows help shows Click to open Taskbar and Start Menu Properties. Click the Start Menu tab, and then click Customize. In the Customize Start Menu dialog box, in the Number of recent programs to display box, enter the number of programs you want to display on the Start menu, click OK, and then click OK again. Both the check boxes are disabled so I cannot make any changes.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'd like to make my Start Menu bigger (increase its height, to be specific). I've seen someone post a screenshot here: http://news.softpedia.com/images/news2/Build-a-Monster-Windows-7-Start-M... Unfortunately, he didn't talk about how to achieve this.
I know that I can go into the Start Menu and Taskbar Properties menu > Customize > Start menu size and then and increase the number of recent programs to display, however, I really do not like to display recently opened programs (sorry to seem difficult). Is there any way to make the start menu size bigger without displaying recently opened programs?

View 3 Replies View RelatedIt mostly happens in Lightwave 9.6 and Photoshop CS2. So the problem is that when I open a drop down menu in those programs the program either flickers a lot or it goes in the background and I have to alt+tab to get it back every time. It is really annoying because I can't do almost all important things in Lightwave and I can't save images in other formats in Photoshop beacuse of the drop down menu, and in other programs it flickers a lot and is just annoying.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a wierd problem which I think is related to a dodgy keyboard. basically my customer has a G61-401sa laptop in which the Ctrl key seems to be constantly 'on' or pressed if you will. It's taken me a while to notice this ( through doing other things to her system) and in all honesty it isnt on all the time, however I noticed it yesterday after I was setting up her email and tried to paste her address into the required area (crtl +V) since then its on and off, more 'on' than off and I wondered if its possible to dissable the Ctrl key completely? obviously at some point she needs to replace the keyboard but I know shes loath to spend more money on a laptop she's had nothing but trouble with (loads of problems since she bought it from currys but thats another story)

I have this small but highly annoying problem on Windows 7 64 bit. Alt + space focuses on the menu bar of a program when I don't want to.I'm an audio engineer that uses my home laptop to edit audio and video with programs like Sony Vegas and Cakewalk Sonar. These programs rely heavily on the Alt commands for quick zooming and other functions, and the spacebar is the de facto key for play and pause. However, I find myself often hitting Alt + scroll wheel to zoom out of tracks horizontally (since Ctrl + scroll scrolls vertically and Shift + scroll scrolls horizontally) and then immediately hitting the spacebar to play, only to find that Windows interprets this as Alt + space and automatically jumps me to the file menu of the program, disrupting whatever I was doing. Remapping Alt for all the various functions in the programs would be inconvenient and very challenging.Apparently, the gods at Microsoft have tried their hardest to make it impossible to prevent Alt + space (or Alt + anything) from opening the file menu, and I mean it is IMPOSSIBLE to remap this shortcut. I've searched everywhere, used AutoHotKey and key remappers, but nothing can change this shortcut without disabling the Alt key altogether.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I start up my computer, my Steam starts up, then I manually start Chrome. Chrome comes up fine, Steam does too, but when I try to right click on Steam and click friends, all it does is create another steam process running at 100-108 K. Then if I close Chrome and try to reopen it, it will do the same. This happens with EVERY program after I start up. There's a 5 second window where I can open programs without issue, then after that it will only start 108 K copies of them. It takes me around 30 restarts just to get it working properly, if not more.
