Ctrl C+v Keys Are Not Working?
Aug 24, 2012my ctrl v and c keys suddenly stopped working. they work in the onscreen keyboard and also every other ctrl combination works.

Cannot Use The CTRL And W Keys On Keyboard
Feb 25, 2012I cannot use the CTRL and W keys on my keyboard. I have gone through all of the regular uninstall the keyboard and all associated drivers with the computer and none of it has worked. I am using the Microsoft Wireless Comfort Keyboard 5000.The batteries have also been changed with new ones and that did not fix it. I have also done a Windows Restore to a previous time when it did work and that did not help. I have no other keyboards to test with at this time either.

Running windows 7 Recently update Skype but read it could have been that so uninstalled and loaded older version - same with Kodak printer I am now back to June restore when everything was working...
FYI - OSK (on-screen keyboard) works fine & I have also uninstalled keyboard and reinstalled but nothing is working

Jun 10, 2012for some reason my windows tab on my keyboard which is situated next to my ctrl key is not working when i press it. It should bring up the start menu list for my programs and when i hit it nothing happens.

Dec 19, 2011I recently bought a new wireless keyboard to replace my Dell AT102w (I know I know, replacing a mechanical beast with a tiny chiclet, but it's necessary due to recent space issues).For some reason the CTRL doesn't seem to work at all, there are two CTRL's as you'd expect and neither of them seem to register within windows I can't see both of them not working, seems like to much of a coincidence.Here is the keyboard layout:
I've tried reinstalling drivers by removing the little dongle and putting it in a different USB but it doesn't help. What is strange is the keyboard has an FN key but no keys to use in conjunction with it.
System CTRL Key Is Not Working Properly
Nov 3, 2011Just bought a new Lenovo G770 5 days ago. Running Win7 64bit. The system repeatedly thinks the CTRL key is being pressed when it isn't. In the middle of typing a sentence, suddenly every letter I type performs the associated ctrl key action. The only remedy is a complete reboot (and loss of data in the process). I have googled this problem and it seems pretty common, but all I've found are a lot of suggestions (some of them too technical) and no clear solutions. Some of the non-useful suggestions I've gotten already: "Wedge the CTRL key up" ~ it is not physically stuck; I have not even touched the key when this happens. If the key were simply physically stuck, a reboot would not solve the problem. "Clean your keyboard" ~ the keyboard is not dirty; it's 5 days old.

Sep 16, 2011I have seen this question asked, but none of them fit my problem. I am working with a laptop on the domain. Windows 7 Pro, 32 bit, new Lenovo laptop. When the computer starts up I get the log in screen, but ctrl-alt-delete will not work. I bring up the onscreen keyboard and I can push Ctrl-alt-delete and then log in as usual. Once I am in, I can run ctrl-alt-delete and it works fine. It is only at logon. I changed the ctrl-alt-delte settings and still nothing! I have spent way too long on this issue!

Apr 17, 2012I have a Dell Vostro 1050 with 2Gb RAM and 320 HDD space. i bought this laptop new and it worked for just one day and the following day when i started it in the morning after like 5 minutes, nothing was responding. i mean the curse wasn't moving, the key board keys not working and nothing was responding till when i had to long press the power button and turned it off. Turning it back on it worked for the next 30 minutes, then it froze again. i have tried changing the RAM chips and Used Different HDD's but all in vain.

Apr 9, 2011I just had to do a reinstall of my Window's 7 and since have had a problem with 2 keys on my keyboard. When I use the apostrophe key, nothing happens, but when I type something after, it appears. It's no big deal really, but I'm rather anal and it just bugs me when something isn't working right.
I have used search here at SF and gone through the tutorials, but can't find anything that quite matches. I tried to update driver's but the little box on the screen tells me driver's are up to date. I checked Device Manager and it doesn't indicate any problem. I checked Keyboard in Control Panel and it says the device is working properly.
RC Media Keys On HP Keyboard Not Working

May 13, 2011A week back or so, it was all fine (With occasional Win 7 freezes, which i have never been able to troubleshoot). Then my Win 7 started showing a BSOD (Pretty frequently but randomly). While struggling with this i tried to add/remove RAM sticks (I am running on 4* 2GB = 8 GB in total. Tried to keep one stick (changed slots as well) and remove other three but still the same BSOD). Then i removed NVIDIA graphics card, hard disk & CD rom cables, processes and put everything back again. But to no use.BSOD was not really an issue, as I was thinking of reinstalling Windows and getting rid of that. Before that while Windows would restart (after a BSOD) the arrow keys were not working means: i was not able to choose from 1) boot windows normally 2) run repair etc options.Then i thought of booting the system from a bootable USB drive and run the repair. I pressed F12 to choose one time boot device, it showed the list but arrow keys were not working again. Strangely enough if i enter BIOS setup by pressing DEL, everything seems to work fine. So finally i made the USB drive my first boot device and the system was able to boot from it.I also had one Acronis bootable CD which i used for creating an image of C drive (After fresh Win 7 installation). I thought about restoring that image. I set my first boot device as CD ROM and was able to boot into Acronis. It gives 2 options (the default being boot into Windows). Acronis is a GUI based stuff so i tried to use mouse there. Oh man now mouse was not working and following the default option, the system was booting into Windows.
