Registry Entry For Windows 7 Bootscreen?
Apr 21, 2012I have a packard Bell netbook and while it was starting up the other day I began to get a littl fed up of the anoyying vista bootscreen because of the 1024x600 display.
Does anybody know if there is a registry entry and were it is so that I may be able to force it to display the windows 7 bootscreen?
Windows Crashes After Bootscreen, Can't Load Any Other Mode
May 5, 2012I have this laptop which belongs to my girlfriend, but it has a slight problem since a few days. It won't boot properly. If I just 'let it go' it gives me the screen about that i've added new hardware or something, and that i should start startup-recovery. From there, if I choose to boot normally, it crashes after the 'Starting windows' screen with the flag. It looks like it gives a black screen with some letters, and then BSOD's REALLY fast. Now the same thing happens if I boot into any safe mode.
So I started thinking, this might be some bootfile problem. And so I went for the startup-recovery mode. Too bad this only shows a black screen with a cursor in the middle, which i can move. Okay, so I tried booting from the cd. Same thing. Even with a recovery cd made with another computer running Windows 7 x64.
Blank Screen After BootScreen
Dec 15, 2009Ever since I put Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit on (about 6 hours ago) I get a black screen after boot screen, no login appears.
Black Screen:
* No Mouse
* No Keyboard
* No Screen (Duh) Its not a "Black Screen" more of a blank screen
I have attempted many fixes:
* Update Drivers for mother board
* Update Drivers For GFX card
* Batch Files in Start up (two different ones based on display)
* Updated BIOS
* Removing all other hard drives
Things that Have Worked:
* Running in Safe Mode
* Disabling GFX card
* Remove GFX card Drivers
This is how i came to the conclusion that my black screen is caused by my GFX card. But i don't want to have Windows 7 installed with out it (what would be the point).
My GFX card is a "NVIDIA 9800 gtx"

No Bootscreen When Turning On Computer?
Feb 19, 2012I recently built a new rig and have had no problems so far, but just the other day (even up til now), when I turn on the computer I do not see the standard post screens or even the Windows 7 loading screen. However my computer DOES boot into Windows 7 just fine and everything works as usual. But this is bothering me because if I need to make any changes to the BIOS I can't. Does anyone know how to fix this? To clarify though, computer is not hooked up to a monitor, but to an 32" Toshiba LCD TV. It's been hooked up this way since I built the rig though.

1. What is the cheapest method to get the task done. What disk or download do i need?
2. Can it be done as an upgrade, keeping existing files? or is a clean install the only method?
3. i have already downloaded all the drivers in 64 bit versions. can i install the drivers, or make them useable to the windows upgrade/install during the instal process, or do i need to install the drivers after the windows installation is complete?

Jan 18, 2013I know that I'm going to get: Why on earth would anyone want to change from 7 to XP? The answer has to do with audio. I have an interface/drivers/DAW/plug-ins that very simply ran like a top with my old XP 64 and is somehow creating CPU spikes that is making it impossible to proceed with my project.I have spent a week troubleshooting, looked into all options and I've decided that I've had it. This computer will no longer surf the web or do anything besides audio.......at least until I can afford to upgrade properly. I need the fastest solution, not necessarily the best. Another issue I am having is that I do not have a disk, only an image on my external HD. I have tried three kinds of DVD-R's in two different drives with four different programs and continue to get I/O errors. I suspect it is the media itself (Maxell and memorex ) but I don't drive so painting the town red to buy different 20 dollar packs of DVD's that MIGHT work doesnt sound good.SO, with all of that out of the way. Here's what I have:
1. Windows 7 (64) installed
2. An ISO image of windows XP (64) installation disc on a USB HD
3. A USB flash drive
I would like to have windows XP running and anything beyond that is unimportant.
