IDT Integrated Soundcard Need To Change Jack Assignment?
Nov 26, 2011My front speaker pin (the green one) is ruined. When I plug my headphones into any other pin, the sound will not work. I know it's possible to change pin assignments with realtek, I used to do it through their software. IDT however allows no such thing through their control panel. Is there any other way to change it? I'm using an integrated sound processor Intel Dp35dp and Windows 7 x32bit

I can see the drives (usb flash memory or usb hard drives) in the disk managment and assign a drive letter successfully. I cannot figure out what changed and now my laptop will not assign any drive letters to my external drives automatically.

Mar 31, 2009I previously shared my iTunes library from my desktop computer which was running Xp x64 Professional, and accessed the library through a M: drive that I could access on my laptop and other computers in the house. I set up the M drive following these instructions found here from LifeHacker and here from Microsoft previously.
I decided to try the same with 7 and everything goes according to plan until I get to the part where I go to add the new "M" drive and I can not click to "Assign the following drive letter" followed by letters that I can assign this new drive. I can only select "Mount in the following empty NTFS folder." Is anyone familliar with this issue and tell me what I am doing wrong?

Sep 14, 2010I installed Windows 7 to test it on my PC (I still use XP for most purposes). Now I want to reinstall it because I want to try a different version. Unfortunately, I would have to re-assign all drives again and I have a lot of them. Is there any way to save the current assignment and restore it when I have reinstalled Windows?

Aug 5, 2011I had a successful raid 5 array setup. It was assigned to g and while I was installing ps3 media server and then java it lost it's drive assignment. It shows up under disk management but asks me to initialize it. I really don't want to do that because it will format and i will lose the data on the volume. What else can i do to get my array to show up in windows with my data intact?

Apr 24, 2011I am running windows 7 HP in 32 bit and i want to change to a 64bit OS.i had no idea that i needed a 64 bit OS, and got win7 HP disk that is only 32bit when i upgraded from vista.Here are my questions.
1. What is the cheapest method to get the task done. What disk or download do i need?
2. Can it be done as an upgrade, keeping existing files? or is a clean install the only method?
3. i have already downloaded all the drivers in 64 bit versions. can i install the drivers, or make them useable to the windows upgrade/install during the instal process, or do i need to install the drivers after the windows installation is complete?
4. if i have to install drivers after the windows install, is there a way to tell if windows has already used a 64bit driver?

Jan 18, 2013I know that I'm going to get: Why on earth would anyone want to change from 7 to XP? The answer has to do with audio. I have an interface/drivers/DAW/plug-ins that very simply ran like a top with my old XP 64 and is somehow creating CPU spikes that is making it impossible to proceed with my project.I have spent a week troubleshooting, looked into all options and I've decided that I've had it. This computer will no longer surf the web or do anything besides audio.......at least until I can afford to upgrade properly. I need the fastest solution, not necessarily the best. Another issue I am having is that I do not have a disk, only an image on my external HD. I have tried three kinds of DVD-R's in two different drives with four different programs and continue to get I/O errors. I suspect it is the media itself (Maxell and memorex ) but I don't drive so painting the town red to buy different 20 dollar packs of DVD's that MIGHT work doesnt sound good.SO, with all of that out of the way. Here's what I have:
1. Windows 7 (64) installed
2. An ISO image of windows XP (64) installation disc on a USB HD
3. A USB flash drive
I would like to have windows XP running and anything beyond that is unimportant.
