View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a user with a Windows 7 64 bit machine on our domain. A few days ago he recieved a nasty malware virus and we removed it with our virus tools. However, his desktop is not the way it use to be before the malware. The obvious problem being his desktop background is black and it does not change. When I try to change it in control panel to Architecture or Landscapes, nothing happens, just the color of the taskbar changes. Also, Ive noticed that his "Accessories" folder is missing.I tried adjusting settings in the Ease of Access section, but still does not work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently updated Firefox and somehow IE7 became my default browser. Could have been the kids playing around. I went and switched back to Firefox as default but I have a few internet programs that do not run in Firefox so I had the desktop shortcuts set to open with IE. When I switched Firefox back to default my links switched also. When I open the properties of the link, before you could choose the program you wanted it to open with and uncheck the "make this default" box. Now this box is greyed out. How do I go about changing the browser for only specific desktop links?

View 2 Replies View Relatedhow can I get the shortcut back? My desktop background didn't want to change (it went to black, and stayed black no matter what), so I decided to do a System Restore. I went to the start menu, all programs, accessories, system tools. No system restore. My desktop background decided to start working again, so one less loose end.I don't fancy going through my system32 folder just to restore, so can someone tell me how to get rstrui.exe back in my system tools folder as a shortcut?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI save a lot of folders on my desktop. For the most part they are sorted alphabetically, from A to Z, with no problem.
For the last several months, if something is named numerically, they are saved backwards. In other words, if I have files named 001, 002, 003 instead of showing up in 001-002-003 sort order, they show up in 003-002-001 sort order.
How do I change this back to the original 001-002-003 sort order?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have disabled desktop composition (and all other options form "performance options", except the "use visual styles in windows and buttons" for power consumption reasons) and I can't seem to be able to change the titlebar and taskbar color... I tried to change it in "window color and appearance", but any color I set the titlebar to be, it just stays as a pale blue. Is this normal? If I enable the "desktop composition" then I can change the color. Is there any way around this?
